Quote:Cute, but counting anything other than time spent actually playing the role hardly seems relevant. You might as well compare the actors' heights to see who was the Doctor "the longest".Both McGann and McCoy were officially "The Doctor" far longer than Tom Baker was. Whether episodes were put out or not.

I think they're at least teasing the possibility, with the line in Statesman's death scene about whether Recluse is redeemable or not. I could see Recluse jumping in to help defeat Wade for his own reasons, and either dying "heroically" or deciding to go rogue, leaving Red Widow to take control of Arachnos.

I haven't tried it out on Beta, but apparently part of this year's Valentine event will involve helping various NPCs hook up.

The prisoner escape phase of BAF always makes me think of "Yakkety Sax"

Maybe when Statesman kicks off, the Phalanx is gonna recruit BABs as his replacement?

I keep forgetting about the Kronos Titan ambush in Crimson's arc, until it's on top of me.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. My TF experiences are so different from what I read about on the forums that I wonder sometimes if I'm even playing the same game.

Quote:Maybe you missed Positron's "Y U NO RUN TRIALS?" post:And by 'squeaky wheel', I mean if the hugely vocal minority complains long and loud enough, they'll eventually get their way just to get'em to shut up for five minutes.
Quote:Now to give you some perspective on why such a change was proposed in the first place, we simply were not seeing enough people completing the newer developed content for the system. Players seemed to be content in running BAFs and Lambdas to the exclusion of everything else. Our metrics dont tell us why this is the case -
This would be the surest way to get me to quit the game. If you want it as an optional selectable difficulty, fine, but don't force it on the rest of us.

As part of his campaign to demoralize the Primal Earth heroes, Neuron repeatedly grabbed the top score on the ski run, then added insult to injury by taking a bathroom break in the middle of the race.

Trying to get all the event badges and goodies on all my alts would drive me crazy, but I find that if I just pick one character to run through it, I enjoy it. I'll open a few presents on my way to wherever I'm going, or run a Baby New Year rescue in between other missions. I managed to solo Lady Winter, and was lucky enough to get on a couple of Lord Winter / Winter Lord teams. In the end I was able to get all the badges and costume pieces I was interested in, and by pacing myself, I didn't get too burned out.

Must be one of those specialty cable channels, like BBCAmerica. Half of it is native Praetorian programming, and the rest is Star Trek reruns.

I have a feeling Booth is going to have the shortest supervillain career on record.

I haven't spent any of my points yet, mainly because I'm a cheapskate. Back when they first started selling costume packs, I made myself a promise that I would only buy them when they got discounted, never at full price. I'm treating the Paragon Store the same way...when the things I'm interested in go on sale (mostly costume pieces and powersets), then I'll buy them.

I'm a serial altoholic...I tend to create a new character, play them more-or-less exclusively till they hit 50, then put them aside and start a new one. For a while, I had a "main" that I was badging with, but I haven't played that one much lately.

If they were as easy and straightforward as the Halloween trial, then yes, I probably would. If they were as hard and twitchy/gimmicky as the current Incarnate trials, then probably not.

Not long after I started playing, I got onto a PuG that was running a mission on an office map. Partway through, the leader decided he wanted to do a different mish (or maybe he just wanted to raise the difficulty, I forget), and told everyone to exit. Everyone else made a beeline for the door, but I somehow got turned around, and for the life of me, could not figure out how to get back to the entrance. I was running around in circles while the rest of the team was going "Pls exit so we can reset". I was too embarrassed to admit I was lost, so I finally just said "Gotta go!" and quit the team. Eventually, I found my way out.

Quote:There was a lot of heated discussion the first couple of years, but it seems to have died down. I figure by now most people have either figured out how to do it, or just resigned themselves to the fact that they'll never get the badges (I'm in the latter groupI've not heard that sentiment before. I'm sure some people get frustrated over the ski badges, but that's entitlement talking more than anything. Some people enjoy the Ski courses and some don't, same with everything else in this game.

Fixing the LFG so you can run missions while you wait ought to be a big improvement, but I wonder if it isn't too late. Players are already in the habit of pre-forming leagues, and there's still the problem that randomly-assembled PuGs are prone to failure in the trickier Trials.

I guess I'm a little weird, in that I tend to just play one character at a time, take them to 50, then "retire" them and start a new one.
Mostly I do regular story-arcs, with some scanner & tip missions mixed in. I've been doing the SSAs as they come out. I don't do iTrials anymore, and almost never do TFs, but I'll do Death From Below to speed through the low levels, and I'll join in on quick stuff like Rikti invasions or holiday events.
I went through First Ward on my last couple of characters, but I'm skipping it on the one I'm currently leveling up, just so I don't burn out on it. Same with the Hollows, Striga, and Croatoa... every 2nd or 3rd character goes through them, so they stay "special". -
The biggest appeal of the solo path is that you'll (presumably) be able to jump on and immediately start your mission, instead of waiting half an hour for a league to form. This is such a gigantic QoL advantage, that I'm afraid the solo path is going to have to be absolutely horrendous in terms of difficulty and rewards to offset it. Otherwise the trials are going to dry up completely.
