  1. Eh. Arctic Fog's okay, I suppose, if it's the defense & resistance you want. Won't do a damned thing on a Nemesis map to stop snipers from getting you or your party from at the edge of your draw distance, though. [I'm a stealth-type person, so that aspect's what I consider for these powers - and Superior Invisibility lives up to its name]
  2. Dunno about the IO issue. No good at that.

But Superior Invisibility is pretty much mandatory - and if you don't take it, then you should be taking Group Invisibility. Its End cost isn't so bad once you get Stamina and have 3 slots in SI with SOs or level 35+ IOs or 5-slot it with 5 Red Fortune (and a 6th slot for Luck of the Gambler +7.5% recharge, of course).

And you'll be wanting to take Combat Jumping, anyways, if only for the Immobilization protection (since its End cost is so low, no problem with that and Superior Invisibility on at the same time).

The defense on both powers is just a minor bonus compared to their main purposes (concealment & threat reduction and combat mobility).
  3. Yep. Kick causes redraw. Very annoying.

    AR Blaster

    Eh. I'm mostly a toe-bomber.

Mostly Time Bomb [Cloaked + IO] -> jump back -> Call to Justice -> Surveillance on the hardest target -> LRM Rocket -> Full Auto alternating with Surveillance -> Trip mine -> jump back -> Full Auto -> M30 Grenade -> Buckshot.

On rare occasions I'll set up a minefield around a corner and Sniper Rifle to lure 'em in.

Or, if it's just regular trash, Sniper Rifle -> Full Auto -> M30/Buckshot for cleanup.

    Illusion in pvp?

Phantom Army don't fly, just jump extra high (like a Mastermind pet).

Tried that. Didn't work for me so I respec'd out of Ignite a looooong time ago.

Regular bosses aren't much of a problem, though - just the EBs. :/

    Vigilante tips?

Two tips, actually: Morality and Halloween.

Your Origin is just that: your origin. How you get your powers after starting out does not have to have anything to do with how you started out. If Batman can gain Technology powers (such as in Kingdom Come where his body is broken down after decades of crime fighting so that he has to resort to robot armies and power armor to continue) or Science & Magic powers (such as becoming immortal through the Science & Magic blend of the Lazarus Pit in Superman & Batman: Generations), then there's nothing wrong with your Natural Arachnos Soldier gaining Technology powers by having the backpack grafted onto his back.

Same goes for if they suddenly are able to fly or move at super speed (say, from the effects of being bombarded by the magical energies of Circle of Thorns' attacks or something about Cobra spit/venom triggered a post-Origin mutation). Your Origin doesn't have to be a straightjacket for your character's entire career.

Specifically, you can only carry a number of normal tips equal to the empty Public Fame circles you have, to a maximum of 3 normal tips (special ones, like Morality and Event tips do not count towards the limit), and no more normal tips will drop while you are at your current limit.
  10. The Alpha & Omega stances are:

    /em stancehero1
    /em stancehero2
    /em stancevillain1
    /em stancevillain2

(though it's pretty obvious what the others would be once you get the format for one and know that there are two on each side...)
  11. Ugh. Hard enough to get up the urge to play CoH with the constant zombie invasions and Deadly Apocalypse (though the latter is merely annoying as you can't do your street sweeping missions, while the former just completely and utterly sucks if you have to be in the zone for whatever reason). Now 4 days of Rikti to keep me away from the game. Awesome. :/

    AR Blaster

There is a huge difficulty jump for Bosses and EBs after level 40, I found - my AR/Dev can't handle them, even stacking a minefield around a nearby corner (when possible), then setting a Time Bomb, backing up, using Surveillance, Call to Justice, using Sniper Rifle to open up on the EB just as the Time Bomb goes off, then heading back behind the minefield... :/

My advice: don't solo after 40 and hope you don't regularly run into teams that whine about Slug, Buckshot, and M30 Grenade.
  13. For anyone else who might be wondering, the Halloween tip drop is like a Morality Mission - assuming you're doing the right thing to qualify for it, it will (eventually!) drop regardless of how many regular tips you already have on-hand and even if your Public Fame is full.

It's only a problem in the eyes of certain players who think they should never have to move once they pick a spot and on those who've become so addicted to AoE that they can no longer handle scatter.
  15. Stick with Ice and carry a column of Break Frees for when you get mezzed during that second or two when aggro's on you because your Phantom Army's down. Sure, your debuffs go down for a few seconds, but that's rarely a big deal.

...which is as it should be, especially for Corruptors.

It's nice to know it's there, but trust me, you wouldn't miss it. I went for fire mastery on mine--the fire blast is stronger than ice blast, and you can nab the self rez (For when things go very bad, as rare as those cases may be) and fire shield. YMMV, of course.
Fire Blast might be stronger offensively, but Ice allows you to slot an LotG 7.5% rech, which is rather useful for the perma-PA.

Frozen Armor's defense, if you remember to turn it on (which I don't, most of the time :P), is actually fairly useful if your reflexes and observational skills aren't perfect, or if you're delayed because you were casting Ice Storm on the spawn or Radiation Infection on a nasty, and you don't manage to start recasting the Army the instant it's recharged (which has caused me to faceplant twice - both times from foes I'm fairly sure my 26% or so S/L def could've stopped if I'd remembered to turn on the Armor and popped one of the purples I was carrying ).
  19. Who needs Defense as an Ill/Rad? That's what our Phantom Army's for. (of course, mine's got about 23% S/L def from random set bonuses and Frozen Armor 5-slotted with Red Fortune + 1x LotG Def/+recharge, but I rarely even remember to turn it on :P)

Liquify is too awesome to have a faster recharge. Besides, 5 minutes isn't so bad. Three L35 IOs gets it down to 2m33s and means you have to use it strategically rather than just spamming. Nothing wrong with that. Pair it with a set that you're going for massive recharge on anyways (say, Illusion Control where you want at least 200% global recharge) and you'll get it down to under 1m20s.

On my Grav/Sonic controller I found myself leaning very heavily on the secondary given how terrible Gravity is, and I was not disappointed.
The only terrible thing about Gravity Control is how slow Propel animates (cut the animation down to 2s and reduce its damage accordingly) and blocks your view.

    Otherwise, knockback is quite welcome.
  22. Sprint + Combat Jumping = 0.35/s
Ninja Run = 0.45/s (or maybe 0.46/s. Somewhere around there, anyways)

However, you want Sprint + Ninja Run when traveling and Sprint + Combat Jumping for actual combat (assuming you want movement speed rather than just maneuverability) since Ninja Run suppresses.
  23. Are you using quotes?

    /bind x "powexecname Smashing Blow"

    ...for example, should work fine.
  24. You'll want 1 slot in Stamina, at the very least. You should be able to get away with the default slot in Health - unless you want room for the Miracle and Numina's procs...

    Time bomb

Bah. Super Speed + Cloaking Device or Cloaking Device + Stealth IO = almost perfect safety (barring things with +perception like a couple of types of Longbow) while laying the Time Bomb.

I use it on most spawns when it's up while I'm soloing with my AR/Dev. Destroys the minions and knocks a big chunk off of anyone else, who I then slaughter with Full Auto. Rarely need a 3rd attack, 'cept when there's a Boss or EB there.

I'll take almost perfect safety over extra speed any day.
