  1. And then the odd evening where I go through two Lam, two Baf, and get a common and three VR's. (Plus an Uncommon random drop in one of the baf's)

    Screwy random generators.
  2. Ice shields turn scrappers into tanks, and turn blasters into scrappers. If you think it's ugly, OK - but someone buffing you isn't someone "griefing" you. I've had people complain about them before, enough that I had them step aside before using it on oe task force. Guess who kept dying? If you guessed Commander Whinezalot, you win a prize.

I have never played the UG for the exact same reason you listed.
If you have never played the UG trial, you can't complain about it. It is no comparison to keyes, which is not as bad now that more people know what to do.

The Ug trial moves like a hoard of army ants, not scattered Willy nilly.

I hate to state the obvious, but don't they already pay? They only get a third of their money's worth in points, not even enough to buy the powersets and costume pieces (more like a tenth of the money required to).

These are the people who've supported you for day one, and a lot of months in between more than I ever did that's for sure. I just don't get why you'd crap on them, even from a business perspective it seems an absurd quickster-esque move.

Obviously they needed more money, isn't that what premiums are for? People who wouldn't otherwise pay you anything are now paying you something. Isn't that the whole point? Do you really expect them to be more profitable than VIPs? No one is more profitable to your business than a VIP.

Even if you give them everything, you lose nothing. They pay every month to keep access to the new goodies you continue to give them. Yet you expect people to pay monthly and then pay more on top of that for content that used to be included?

What am I missing? This horse isn't dead enough for me.

Vip's/subscribers in the past have had to pay for some new things, like some updates, and the various origin packs. It's the same now, but you pick and choose what you buy, if you buy anything at all.

Whining about "having" to spend extra as a subscriber is almost as bad as the free players who whine about not getting access to everything.

Darn. I bought it hoping for that option. Oh well, points are 'free'.
  6. Steelclaw, I think this means that you have lost the Forum Game. You need to delete all your posts and start over again.
  7. That's time travel for you. It screws everything up. Or ... it will screw things up .... or ... it already screwed things up, and we just can't ... oh, I give up.

Matilda Sherman is an Ice/SS tanker and she's actually not so bad - but a lot slower but is in very large part due to the fact she's soloing the low Praetorian content. But she is able to take a hammering, and although her DPS isn't high she's proving interesting.

One thing I'd not factored in is the Blackwand and the Nemesis Staff. They've just been part of my attack chain with the Nem being a good "go away and never bother me again" mitigation tool, but they come into their own with either getting attention or knocking over the last couple that have decided to wander off.

Thanks to everyone for their advice here
I'm always happy when I can help someone have fun. I have a Spines/Fire Scrapper too, and she really does dish out damage, as does my fire/kinetic melee tank. Burn is just fun.
  9. Well, I'm not interested in getting different incarnate powers. I can't go back and 'respec' old choices, and you can only have one at a time anyway.

As far as the later slots not opening yet, I'm OK with that. Not looking forward to collecting Incarnate Needles to craft Incarnate Links, or whatever new salvage nonsense they make up.

    Transfer tokens?

My mistake then, I must have misread something somewhere. Thanks for the replies!

    Transfer tokens?

So - how many transfer tokens should I have now? Weren't they supposed to start accumulating back when they announced them? I thought I would have more than the two I have.

Or is two a correct and accurate number, and I should just have two?

You take that back! :-) I think you are basing that opinion off of "stuff I heard" and "I tried a tank a few years ago". I'm not claiming they are all top damage dealers, but for someone not used to playing melee, I personaly wouldn't try to scare them away from the most surviveable ones, especially if your claims are not based off of personal experience.

knowing this, as I certainly must by now, changes my opinion not even a little itsy bitsy bit.

I might still try it out for giggles if its free, but I'm not buying that one.

Coding something that allows people who were not going to spend money to convince them to spend a little bit? Unheard of.
  15. I don't see it as devaluing that level of access. I see it as allowing some people to directly purchase a portion of it. Some people just want to spend as little as possible - I'm for allowing them to do that but still give thm some incentive to spend a little more than the minimum.
  16. Well, my billing date is the 2nd, and I haven't gotten anything that I've noticed, nor gotten my monthly reward token.

I have no problem with limiting the chat option for free players, expanding them some for premium, then opening fully for VIP.

I'm also not opposed to offering an improved chat functionality for purchase in the market.
  18. I'm a day or two away from that myself. Not sure how I 'fell behind', since I've never NOT been subscribed .. but it's not worth complaining about, I'll just wait it out. :-)

Heh .. I was a half bubble short of 25 after a tf last night. I joked about it in chat, and my friend who led it stayed on for 15-20 minutes to run me through his favorite farm. I ended the night at 27.4.

(Of course, I'm his personal good luck charm - he says he almost always gets a purple drop when I team with him :-) - he got one five minutes into the mission, too)

Yeah, I made a big mistake, and treated it like the old system. I claimed everything on a new alt I created. ;+(

My mistake, I should have read it closer - but I wanted to open up the tier 9 costume options, so rushed through it.

I have fun with my Fire/KM Tanker, just hitting the 40s now.
  22. The whole system is a bit screwy. Last week I still had no server transfer tokens, and then yesterday I saw that I now had two of them, which I think is still incorrect. I had enough points in the market to get the Ray gun set and the rocket sled, but nothing else.
  23. I think I need to contact support for one of the Paragon rewards. I took the Signature Hero power, but none of my characters have it, and it,s not in my list of claim able items.
