Like FFM said - its a port issue with COH and your ISP, NOT your PC in general and it's internet connection.

I get this problem when a new large update comes out. I let it run overnight. Even with port forwarding enabled in my router it still runs slowly on larger updates. I just live with it, as 'one of those things'.

That looks more like the sync bug than anything else, to me... although i could be wrong.

have you tried typing /sync? in a mission / zone or after you've changed areas?

I've started the SS/WP brute and am liking him so far.
Also played a small amount on the NRG/Elec brute and think ill like him too.

All i've got to do is work out which one i want to concentrate on now

Yes, i love Avril, my Thugs/FF MM for that reason, however the time it took to get into the mission, is why im getting a bit fed up of levelling her

I'm now running this version and to me things seems a little crisper in game, too.. but that might be just me thinking that, and therefore seeing it, rather than it actually being correct.

Alternatively, it might be that i just haven't played villains since i had my 2 new 8800GT's installed...But i'm sure i've loaded up villains at some point since..

Thanks for the replies, all - some interesting notes there. I had a quick play with a SS/WP brute last night, but after reading the above, ill probably try an Elec/Elec or NRG / Elec Brute when i get to play again tomorrow.

Just wondering really, what do YOU think the best AT would be for levelling to 50 mostly soloing, but with the occasional group (when i get invited and am not about to log)

The reason i ask is because i have a level 39 Thugs / bubbles MM and im finding that it's taking way too long between missions / start of missions to bubble up and use both upgrades on all 6 thugs, then go and do the mission.

I'd like a fresh approach. And with the sets merging so to speak (can't remember the exact phrase, apologies) i'd like to create a new villain in the hope i'll get to 50 relatively quickly to be able to create a VEAT. as im getting bored waiting to bubble up and upgrade EVERY SINGLE TIME i do a mission

I don't Powerlevel, or allow myself to be powerlevelled. Therefore it's got to be a toon that can fend for him or herself plus be useful / offer witty banter when grouped.

So what would your suggestions be? What do YOU find the most enjoyable?

so, for those who aren't techie but would like to use the phsyz enabled drivers ( i am techie, but got lost in all the version numbers)

Could someone be so kind as to show a list of versions numbers containing physx that are relevant to the correct operating system please?

example :

Windows XP 32 bit SP2 / SP3 should be running with x version of Nvidia driver.

Windows XP 64 bit should be running x version of nvidia driver

Vista 32 bit version should be running x driver version.

It was my first ever toon to 50 (3rd ever rolled) adnt he most fun i've had in the game. I had no idea how "uber" they were at the time and teamed/soloed to 50 slowly but surely. This was just after I3 i think (it was just after they changed it so you could only have 3 imps - so whenever that was) and she hit 50 probably just before I5. I think it's a wonderful combo irrespective of thier herding/PLing potential (and wonderfully overpowered) but it seems all I see of them these days are farming/PLing in PI (can't remember the last time I saw a non lvl-50), all with nearly the EXACT SAME cookie cutter build. It just seems they've been relegated to farming tools rather than good fun toons. And some of the names...you can tell by the lack of imagination that they were only lvled for one purpose. My hats off to any litle fire/kin's out there in team/solo pvp enjoying your experience, it's a wonderful thing (oh and look me up, i want to see you to beleive it )

3 things for me...

1 - Warshades and Peacebringers squashyness to Voids / Galaxy / etc

2 - people who don't read search comments because only the first 10 characters are immediately shown on the search without running the mouse over it.

3 - one that im kicking myself for now. and that is: deciding my first toon in villains would be a thugs / shields mastermind - which leads on to people who don't wait for me to bubble up my thugs / the team before heading off and starting the mission without me.

Don't get me wrong, i enjoy the character. it just takes forever to start missions because of the time it takes to give the thugs the bubbles and 2 lots of upgrades each mission

And this game is full of religion... Just not the typical/generic ones.

Isn't that the point of Ourboros tho? To go back and do or re-do those story arcs and missions you haven't done?

Personally im happy with the rate of experience gained in the game. Although, th e30-40 is still the most mind numbing section

I too have an inactive US account, with a couple of toons on it.

I've been playing EU since EU beta, so won't be moving back anytime soon, however, the one thing that might persuade me is population / server merge with name loss. (not just server merge, it would have to include name loss, as i like being an individual).

That said, if i moved my toons back to the US server, chances are the names may be taken anyway.

just to confirm, is powerlag when you activate a power but it doesn't react to the activation for a few moments ?

example, my spines/regn scrapper, i hit ripper, but nothing happens, then the animation and some sort of damage, i immediately cue up another power but it takes 2 seconds or so after the other has finished before it realises i've used this next power and takes a further 2 seconds to animate ? (loose example there)...

I've often wondered that, as I've sat, or stood and watched the GG RP'ers from a building across from the statue...

I often think to myself too.. I wouldn't mind giving that a try, but i can't get into character as well as the existing RP'ers do.

Being mostly a non RP'er myself, i occasionally find it annoying when someone buffs me in atlas when im just standing there chatting, as from the conversation they know im not ready to 'fight anything'. However having said that, im also guilty of moving quite close to characters to check out their , normally superb, costumes.

Exactly what happened to me when i created my last toon over the weekend. I had a message asking me to fill whilst i was in Outbreak, so i replied, 'ahh thanks for reminding me to set my search comment to 'no fills'.

well, i have to say, for me, for example, if i wanted a pair of trainers / sneakers, i wouldn't be swayed by an advert in a game. Id go out and look for a design i liked together with the correct size and comfort for my feet.

It'd be the same for anything. I wouldn't go out and buy fast food because that was advertised. I wouldn't buy a chocolate bar because that was advertised.

But for the realism, displaying in bus stops etc around paragon city and rogue isles would be good.

Talking of which - has anyone ever SEEN a bus?

well, there's 2 ways of looking at it, really.

1>....this thread also proves that from time to time, when you think you're getting a half decent drop, that 'might' sell well on WW or BM, you find what you believed to sell for 2 million (when you quite possibly needed 2 million) only sells for 600,000, instead. and you're gutted. You think 'Curse those farmers' and get on with your day.

2> on the flip side, if you're buying, it's great!

I can't help wondering though (as I'm intrigued), people who farm to get a lot of drops - do you still make money, on the farming part, more so than you'd make selling a 2 million inf orange / rare drop?

Possible information:

I had to 're-install' Windows XP last night, due to irreverible damage caused by spyware (yes, i know im a 20 yr veteran techie', but you still can't guarantee 100% protection ) - and a fresh install of Windows, once fully updated with service packs et al, but a backed up version of COH, seemed to cure my sync bug issues.

Ofc, i don't expect everyone to re-install their operating system, but it was just for info.

Possible update, as i've had this recently on just one character... typical it's my main tho...

My comments to support:

I used the /sync, which fixed my movement in the current zone and mission i was about to do, however, i've now zoned again after completion of the mission and it's moving me back to the start of the zone again when i try moving around. i used /sync again and this fixed it again, but it seems this is happening every time i move to another zone. (and has been the same 2 nights in a row now)

The reply:

The problem you have reported is a known issue and the development team is already working on an appropriate solution. However, we are going to forward your enquiry to our Quality Assurance (QA) department in order to provide the development team with as much information as possible.

A patch is planned soon (the exact date will be announced on the official forums) to resolve this issue, at the moment the developers have indeed implemented the command /sync to help you to carry on playing without the repeating rubber banding. Unfortunately, at this time, you will need to use this command every time you enter a new zone or enter/exit a mission (or get a loading screen). We apologise for the inconvenience.

I've now got a problem with just 1 toon - my main can't login without rubber banding every 20 seconds, regardless of zone.

Other characters are fine. I shall be logging it with support.

I'm running Nvidia cards, but it's only the 1 character affected, so i fail to see how that would be graphics drivers.

Turns out mine was the sync bug(according to the /petition reply, however it still does it from time to time when exiting missions, so ill keep an eye on it in the next couple of days and update my petition accordingly.
