No Furrow Left Unturned

Just started a new blueside toon, and was churning along for the Isolator badge in Outbreak.
10 minutes in, got a "Will you join my team for 30 secs to fill?" tell. OK, polite, and didn't follow up with an immediate blind invite, but even so...farming tells to level 2s in Outbreak!?
[/ QUOTE ]
I've had that before, on both sides, usually just after getting into the game after character creation, but before I remember to go on /hide from searches (often it's the farmer's /tell that reminds me to do that).
I mean honestly, do they expect you to wait around to do your door mission in the tutorial just so they can have a few extra mobs in their mission? It's somewhat selfish and not giving the best impression of the community to complete newbies if that is the first communication they ever get in the game.

Why not just do it, takes 2 minutes.
As for impressions well at least they know there is life on the server

So...farming tells to level 2s in Outbreak!?

Nah, the crazy ones are the ones I get on my level 50, inviting me to farm missions telling me I'll get 'loads of XP'.

Yes, but they're my 2 minutes. If 7 other people are roped in, that's almost quarter of an hour of complete strangers' unrewarded time the farmer's wanting them to commit just so he can get extras for himself. That doesn't really sound right.
Plus, if of all the people in all the zones the farmer couldn't find 7 team members without resorting to utter newb toons in Outbreak, shouldn't that give him a hint about just how popular the filling requests are?
Farmers should treat toons in Outbreak like fishermen treat young fish; leave them alone for a while, let them grow a bit, and they can be far more useful later.

Sadly, yes.
If nothing else I guess it might encourage them to learn the ignore system...

-1 for farmers... they're so far in the negative I think I broke my calculator
@Jay Leon Hart
Kerensky: this has nothing to do with underwear
Zwillinger: I put on my robe and wizard hat...
Synapse: I had to resist starting my last post off with "Yo dawg!"
I did note that the other day, on looking to recruit lowbies I could see lvl 1s in Breakout, which I don't ever recall having been able to see before.
Seems to me it would be good if when searching for members you couldn't see Breakout and Outbreak - friends could still invite but randomers wouldnt be able to

minor point but don't you have to be in the same zone for it to count you in the mob size calculation? I know you don't have to enter the mission, but I always thought you had to at least be in the same zone.

No any zone will boost the mobs.

Exactly what happened to me when i created my last toon over the weekend. I had a message asking me to fill whilst i was in Outbreak, so i replied, 'ahh thanks for reminding me to set my search comment to 'no fills'.
Oh for crying out loud. What, exactly, is the point of this thread? To churn up some more anti-farming propaganda? Well, why not? Let's just add some more negativity, shall we? I mean, there must be at least two people who browse these forums who aren't well aware that farmers are dirty evil scum here only to ruin the gaming experience for everyone else. Oh, wait.
You know, if newbies aren't put off by the filler request /tells, they sure as hell will be by these constant, pointless, flamebait threads that pop up twice a week.
Bravo, all of you. Bravo.

A Unicorn getting successfully Trolled? I thought this was CoX not WoW? Pass me the +19 Spangly Lich Hammer, some Trousers of Awesomeness and my Fabulous Hat of Fail.
Insert boar/bore joke here.
Thank you. It's always nice to be taken seriously.
I am sick of all the anti-farmer threads, I can quite honestly say that the farmers I've encountered aren't half as vitriolic as those who oppose them for, as far as I can see, sending /tells out where they're not wanted.
I haven't found one that has been as bad as people paint them to be, to be honest... nothing but polite in their requests to me.
