Quote:Well, yes, I'm confused why you found it necessarily to lie. As I linked, in one thread you repeatedly state that you are posting from the viewpoint of a new player. In another thread, you posted that you are a RETURNING player and, furthermore, implied that you had left and returned more than once. Are you trying to create some type of exchange between us, or are you really confused?
Since those statements are directly contradictory, one of them must be a lie. -

Quote:You mean, just like it was before when if you wanted the Wedding pack, Party pack, Mutant pack, Cyborg pack, etc, etc you had to buy them with real money? If you wanted to play a villain when CoV came out, you had to buy it. If you wanted to change alignments when Going Rogue came out, you had to buy it.So basically, aside from our monthly subscription payments, we are going to be paying real money for virtual items that we will never own/touch/see/smell in the physical, real world?
So.. um... business as usual, I guess. -
I can't stand it when people make stupid comments about post counts. Do you believe that people suddenly become brainless if their count exceeds 1,000? Sure, his comment served no purpose. However, I've seen plenty of pointless posts from people with 500 posts and people with 5,000 posts.

Well, out of 52 slots on Infinity (2 accounts), I think I have about 18 empty. When they went on sale half price, I bought 10 on my main account. I still have 5 of those unassigned. Given that I will have a potential of 96 slots per server, I don't think I'm going to run out any time soon.

Quote:Wait, where is this from? WHAT people list crafting as a reason to avoid this title or the reason they quit? Where is this from?First impressions are lasting ones, and there is a reason why many folks outside the forum list crafting as one of the reasons to avoid this title or quit the game before they reach level 30.
Wow, you're really beating that 'new player' drum pretty hard. And yet, in another thread, you said:
Quote:It comes down to this. Last time I left, and if that chart is any indication, it looks like quite a few folks left at around the same time I did. I didn't post my concerns back then, I just did what most folks do when they don't like a game I expect...I voted with my feet. -
Quote:Actually, I would say that is demonstrably false. This game is still around after 7 years. Most games don't accomplish that. This game has done better than most games.Opinions do not require qualification. And it's not a stretch to say, IMO, the game has NOT done well.
Now, we can quibble about what qualifies as doing "well". I think 'more successful than most games' would qualify. -
Quote:It can. But it could also go towards other stuff. That's not really relevant to this.Don't forget, however, that you also get 400 PP free for every month of VIP subscription. That can also go towards your stuff.
Please note, I'm not saying we're not getting good value for our money. I think VIP's will be getting a better deal under the new system than current subscribers. I'm just saying that buying the booster packs in the new store will cost more than in the old store. -
Quote:They are NOW.There was, a few whiles ago, a guy from Alaska who was getting routed through Japan or something before coming back to California... and was having the exact same issues as you seem to be. He called his ISP with is Pingplotter results, and they fixed their routing issues, got him direct to CA, problems sovled.
They used to be in three separate locations - East Coast, West Coast and EU (in Germany, I think). -
I get that a few times per week. I haven't noticed any pattern to it.
-
Quote:So you want more advance notice when an unexpected problem occurs???Can understand the need to fix problems, but 15 mins notice is NOT good enough,
Quote:Also letter to the dev's..... is this major crash going to occur every week now? if so can we do a mass majority vote for the day?
Yeah..... -

Quote:I'm confused. You're creating a post on this subject that doesn't start by nerdraging your agenda? Intriguing.Hopefully this post avoids any of that...
I'm just looking for some intelligent conversation (What? Wrong place? Haha, well,we all have to settle some times!)about some things I've seen raised by different people.
Anyway, I think the system - as it currently stands - is basically sound. The only place I think it falls short is in the communication allowed to Freeloaders (Sponges? Freepers? Is there an official word?)
I recognize (and agree) that the restrictions have to be a bit draconian to neuter spammers, but I think a key element would be the ability to REPLY to tells from other players. That could do so much to enhance their experience of the game. -
Quote:I would say yes, because it will make the tank more fun (significantly) and even tougher (slightly).and I was wondering what people's opinions of IO'd granite tanks were, not on any specific point, just if they felt IO'ing was worth it.
Having sucky runspeed and recharge, to me, is not fun. My stone/stone has 5 Luck of the Gamber +recharge and 5 Gift of the Ancients +runspeed (plus additional set bonuses for each). And Hasten, of course. As a result, in situations where he doesn't need Granite, he's dashing all over the battlefield laying a serious smackdown due to all that recharge. To support that attack rate, he's got almost +40% recovery (not counting Stamina or the Perf Shifter +END proc).
To make him a little tougher, after getting the stuff above, I also added in about +140% regen. Sure, that's not really a lot but when you have 89% resist to EVERYTHING BUT PSI, a little extra regen goes a long way. That 89% resist is a situation of ridiculous inf expenditure and effort for a small improvement. I have the PvP +resist IO slotted and Cardiac Alpha (end reduction and resistance) at Tier 4.
There's definitely a middle ground here, though. At this point, he's less fun than some of my other tanks since everything is too easy. Still, when I want to show off, or tank a Master run, he's available. -

Quote:Why is that sad? Why does it matter what other people have? You have a lot more inf than me, but I don't care. I have more than I need and the quantity keeps increasing. I track it in a spreadsheet so that I know who has room to hold more when one of my inf-generating-toons has too much. Currently sitting at 35.4 billion with no one to spend it on until Issue 21 hits and I make two new toons. The sad part is knowing that I am, at best, comfortably upper-middle class in the game economy. There are plenty of people who have more than I do.
On a side note, the reason for that is that I find IO'ing a character to be rather tedious. I do it ONCE at around level 35. Only 3 of my characters have any purples because it's too much trouble to re-do the build after hitting 50 - unless I expect to keep playing the toon a lot.
Edit: I couldn't tell you how much I have in crafted IO's. When my toons get to around 35, I blow all their merits on random rolls and keep most of the good stuff. I also never sell purples that drop, since I don't need the inf. -
Price increase. Positron told us flat-out that, if you actually want all the items in a booster pack, buy it before the store goes away. Buying every item in the pack WILL cost MORE than it did before. There will be no 'package deal' to get everything in the pack.
Now, if you DON'T want every item from a booster pack, yes it will be cheaper in the new store since you can pick and choose. -
Quote:Sure, but you're not taking it far enough. Just who is the expert in modifying memories? Praetor Tilman. She's the one who is REALLY in charge. Think about it. In the BAF Trial, doesn't she say something along the lines of, "If I'm happy, you know our dear Emperor is happy."That short story implied, very subtly, that Cole, or someone connected to Cole, has the capability to modify memories. Who is to say that Cole didn't implant the idea in Duray's mind (omgz, inception!), of using the Hamidon Seeds - then in front of his own troops, pin the blame firming on Duray, making Cole look like the level-headed benevolent leader to those who follow him, while still getting the more murky methods of attacking Primal Earth that he wanted.
If she saw herself as subordinate to Cole, she would have phrased it the other way around, that if Cole was happy, then she would be happy. But no, her happiness is paramount, even over Cole's. If she's happy, Cole can be happy. But if she's not happy, everyone will suffer. -

So, when you said yesterday that the Head Start would be announced today, it was from a perspective where you weren't wrong? Maybe because it's not tomorrow yet? If yesterday's tomorrow is today and ... um ... never mind.
