/Netgraph 1 & Red Bars
For some reason, over the last two days, the slash command /netgraph 1 has shown a lot of red bars. Usually it's just a green trickle.
What are the usual things that cause this? It's making the game hard to play. |
A pathping as per the bottom half of this post will give some indication as to whether or not this is the issue and if so where the problem lies.

Hmmm, effectively no significant packet loss and latency is pretty normal. Have you noticed issues with anything else internet-related during the same time period as the CoX issues? Also, have you noticed it happening at specific times or is it 24/7?

I'm seeing it too and it's all the time. My theory is that the hurricane messed things up somewhere.

Lots of other people (myself included) having this issue, as you can see in this thread. Even got a redname's attention - hopefully something comes of it.

Now the red bars are gone, my FPS is fine, but i'm stuttering like hell.
WTF this is a live server for paying customers. Don't treat it like a BETA server where you can test stuff.
Ever since the massive maintenance last week, I haven't seen the red netgraph bars issue. *knocks on wood*

Everything was fine through yesterday, but as of this morning (Sat Sept 10), the red bars of DOOM are back with a vengeance. The game is like a slideshow. The forums and main cityofheroes.com site are also slow. I have no issues with other websites, other games, etc...only CoH-related stuff. There's something hosed with the networking between me (Charter cable modem in Michigan) and the CoH servers (both game and web).

It's because this game is brand new and pushes our computers to unheard of levels of performance to accommodate.

I have posted a video showing my red bars, but the framerate is ok. It makes other things like NPCs and people jump around, where as I seem unaffected.
Watch it here, if you like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c06Ge-1bACo

I seriously cant stand it when people with 1000+ posts HAVE to comment, stupid or otherwise.

I can't stand it when people make stupid comments about post counts.

/rage. I has it.
//Not really, but the point, I hope, is made.
August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
"I" cant stand when some of my jelly drips off of my PB&J sandwich. I mean for God sakes, it's peanut butter AND Jelly people!!!
In all seriousness though folks. There are several people on these forums that just have seemed to take it upon themselves to become the morality police and comment on every post in every thread.
Check out a certain someone's comment following mine concerning Tyrant, or a comment posted in the gameplay/tech forum that a certain other poster felt belonged everywhere.
If your not going to contribute to the conversation, leave the monitoring of the forums to the people who get paid to do it.
And of course, now I add myself to that group. KEEP THE JELLY ON THE SANDWICH!
