Oh, I'm not just picking on you. And I hold myself to high standards. I preview every post I make, no matter how brief. It doesn't keep me from making any errors ever, but I really try to communicate as effectively as possible.


I do. I don't correct spelling errors, though. Spelling errors can be due to aggressive auto-correction, fingers slipping, etc. But word usage is different.


How is that an example of anything? I didn't read that line because I didn't get that far. I loathe PvP and, as soon as I saw that was the subject, I skipped the rest of the post and the thread.

<shrug> To me, that news doesn't mean jack. Right from the start, I figured the best hope was that the game would be bought by another studio who, obviously, would already have their own staff.

I don't think anyone has made that claim. They're talking about revenge, not anything constructive.

But so what? Were you enjoying yourself? If yes, then that's what matters. If not, you should have left a long time ago.

So is the lesson that you should never let yourself enjoy an online game? If CoH does go away, I'll find another game. If we get lucky and it stays around, I'll keep playing and keep spending money on it.

Language is a tool. It needs to be used correctly to be most effective. Imagine someone writing a heartfelt appeal to the CEO of NCSoft with various errors and misuse of words. It loses impact.

On another occasion, my engine died while I was going nearly 80 on a highway. When the tow truck driver arrived, my car was parked perfectly on the right shoulder. And the best story of all is about someone in my office who would be better off with the computer driving the car. She told me about a situation years ago where her brakes failed while on a hill. I said that I assumed she used the emergency brake. She said, no, her reaction was to DIVE OUT OF THE CAR!!!

Let me put it this way: If you need to ask the price, you can't afford it. In this context, if you're asking if overclocking is worth it, you're obviously not a hobbyist so it's not worth it for you. I don't overclock either.


Are you going to do anything on the computer that's really demanding? Gaming is NOT demanding on the CPU. Personally, I run SETI@home with all cores at 100% utilization 24/7 so, for me, a better CPU is worth it.

I think you can just copy the entire folder, then edit the registry, and be good to go.

You start the download, cancel it, copy your files into the already-created directory, then you're good to go.

This is most likely incorrect. There is probably no current capability to 'flip a switch' and make everyone VIP. Therefore, someone at NCSoft would have to code a routine to do this, or start flagging maybe 100,000 accounts manually. So there would actually be a cost in terms of employee time spent.

To be fair, most companies only care about their customers to the extent that it affects their bottom line.
