Still, it's too time-consuming. I exemp a lot so I IO my toons with enhancements around level 35. It's not worth it to me, in terms of time spent, to IO them all over again once they hit 50. I've only done that for.... 4 toons.

Quote:I know. They're mostly stupid names. I'll admit, though, I could see the appeal if three players were on a static team and wanted 3 toons named Good, Bad and Ugly.Maybe I'm in the minority, but I've never understood the appeal of simple adjectives as names.
P.S. Wow, he's had 3 posts modded in this thread already. -
Quote:Please do not link to the Wikia site. It is dramatically out of date and has been know to be infected with malware.I'm trying to access lower-level missions I did not complete with my L50 TW tanker. When using the [Link Removed due to possible malware. ~Mod13] crystals that surround the Pillar of Ice and Flame, I can access missions of L45-50, but nothing lower (at least as far as I can tell). Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Please use ParagonWiki.com (which is also accessible through the CoHTitan.com URL).
Regarding your issue: It will actually let you start 45-50 arcs? Or will it not let you start ANYTHING? Have you confirmed that you are not in task force mode or AE mode?
P.S. Does account status (i.e. Free/Premium/VIP) have an effect on doing Flashbacks? I don't recall any mention... -
Quote:Yes.As shown here, which was uploaded in 2009, has it ever?
Quote:I don't recall them ever doing so, and thery're sort of my stock in trade.
It may have to do with individual computer settings (i.e. particle count or something). I definitely remember the cards disappearing in a burst of sparkles when they hit the ground. I'll have to check and see if it still does it. I haven't changed any graphics settings lately. -
I have two questions regarding future plans.
1) Do a significant number of people want to include the Dr Quaterfield TF?
I was thinking it's a bit long to do as part of our regular event, but a number of people seem to want to include it. Post your opinion on the matter.
2) How many non-VIP players do we usually have?
After Signature Story Arc #6 is released, I was thinking about running parts 1-3 one week and 4-6 the following week. Of course, this content is only available to VIP players (or non-VIP's who have purchased the content - which I can't imagine being very many people). -

Quote:And I could say *IF* he's accessing Pirate Bay.and I said IF
without knowing which page he was accessing we don't know whether something on that page is taking up excess bandwidth.
You still seem to be suggesting some connection between wikipedia and the CoH wikia site. -
Well, you can say that about any decision.
I can choose not to team with anyone whose costume is predominantly dark colors because I find it depressing. <shrug> -
Quote:I believe these statements are directly contradictory.Personally, I don't think the whole enhancement converter thing will have a significant long-term impact on the market. In the short term, it will drive up prices for previously unwanted purples, but over time the demand for the big ticket items that nearly every build benefits from (+HP/End Procs, +Def) will continue to outpace supply by enough to keep prices around where they are now.
The increase in prices for 'junk' purples will be due to people converting them to better purples which will INHERENTLY drive down the prices of the 'good stuff'. As long as there is any significant pricing imbalance, after taking into account the cost of the converters, both sets of prices will tend to be driven closer to each other. -
Quote:Too much work for little benefit *TO ME*.What really confuses me is why almost no one else is doing what I'm doing.
Once my toons hit 50, they get semi-retired. Only a handful of them (3-4 out of 28) get significant play. Those are already IO'ed/purpled. Everyone else gets IO'ed ONCE at around level 35 and it's just not worth the effort to redo the build once they hit 50.
So, I only spend maybe 300-500 million per toon. It takes me probably 3 months to go from 1 to 50 with a new toon (due to playing the aforementioned handful of 50's). I'm already generating inf WAY faster than I'm spending it.
So..... another inf-making opportunity..... <yawn>
P.S. I'll reiterate my longstanding gripe - we need more purple sets. If we got purples for defense, resist and heal I would definitely re-visit some of my builds. -
Yes, that's the plan in terms of content, but it gives no clue as to the schedule, which is the OP's concern.

Find a better team. I like that TF a lot. You fight in the ships, on the ships, on a huge floating fortress, in Talos, in the ruins of Skyway. Just a ton of new maps there. -

Might need to. The original plan was for them to be available for 3 months, but this was when they thought they would have Reward Tokens award immediately for long-term subscriptions, rather than at the rate of 1 per month.
They have stated that we will get plenty of warning before the Celestial Armor is removed. Keep in mind, though, it's been there for almost 5 months at this point. I would not be AT ALL surprised to see it go bye-bye around the 6 month mark (which would be March 13th). -
It shouldn't take anywhere near that. I've run 3 instances with ultra mode settings without issue. The only issue is if I try to have multiple characters zoning simultaneously. This system WAS high end when I built it in September 2010.

Quote:I think it's difficult to draw a clear line between content designed "to beat the players" vs content that is simply harder. There are multiple ways to make it harder. One way is just 'more of the same' - this gives us Reichsman with 227,000 hit points and an attack that stuns tanks.I think the main difference is that in most cases, the old TFs and trials were designed with strategies in mind, and the more recent ones in a lot of cases seem more designed simply to "beat" the players. There are exceptions I could probably name in both cases, but that's the way the trend looks to me.
Another way is puzzles; specific steps to solve a problem. An example is defeating the monsters in Mother Mayhem's path to slow her movement and make her less resistant to mez in the MoM trial. The downside of puzzles - well, ONE downside - is that plenty of people will immediately, scornfully, label them as "gimmicks" and regard them as inherently bad. Of course, another downside to puzzles is that the encounter goes from seemingly impossible to easy once enough people know the 'trick' (and are coordinated enough to act on the knowledge). -
Quote:Nope. I've accessed Wikipedia on many occasions will running CoH. I've PROBABLY even done it while running two instances of CoH but I'm not certain of that. But there's definitely nothing about CoH or Wikipedia that they INHERENTLY interfere with each other.Accessing Wikipedia invariably causes City of Heroes to lose connection to the mapserver! Has anyone else experienced this?
Quote:but as far as I'm concerned, activity in my web browser should NOT affect the performance of CoH. Finding out why and stopping it, that would be a nice thing. ^.^;
I wonder:
1) What browser are you using and do you have any plug-ins installed? Maybe something in the browser is messing up your connection in general and CoH suffers along with everything else.
2) Can you access other sites while running CoH? Particularly something requiring more bandwidth, like Youtube, for example. -

So now you're putting your interpretation of the situation on someone else, and then blaming them for it. Certainly not mean, per se, but definitely not a classy move.
