As my location indicates, I'm on Infinity. I have toons on a number of other servers, including Virtue and Freedom, but none of them are over 25.
If we get another period of free server transfers, contact me.

Quite true. But, in the short term, we will have FREAKING EPIC CROWDS in Praetoria. They need to use that to show just how active the game is.
-
It's a fact that there are lots of duplicated names on different servers. In order to accommodate that, either someones name has to change or the naming scheme itself has to change. EITHER of those methods would cause SOMEONE to quit. It's just a question of how many and would the benefits outweigh the costs.
-
Quote:Accurate up to that point, but you keep overlooking the fact that less servers means less monthly cost to maintain/operate them. That needs to be part of the equation.See the "some number quit" only has to be 1 for them to have lost subscribers. It is pretty obvious there would be more than 1 but even if just Claws quit they still lost a sub. And they paid for all the work to merge.
So they will begin in the hole. Now they need to get and retain more players to make up for the costs. -

Absolutely true. However, a "team" can be as few as one person or as many as eight. By using Eye of the Magus and Elusive Mind accolades simultaneously, my scrapper can easily plant a bomb solo.

Quote:And this is what I was going to say. Faultline is level 15-25 and it works differently from the standard contacts - you don't need an introduction (just like The Hollows, Striga, Rikti War Zone). Also, the arc you get in Faultline from Jim Tremblor is entertaining, as are the subsequent missions from the contacts he introduces you to after.
Just walk up to Jim Temblor and anyone in the 15-20 range can get missions. -
Quote:Unless I'm misunderstanding, you're contradicting yourself. Note the bolded sections. In the first, you say that the AT's are designed around the tank-heal-DPS triad. In the second, you are saying that buffers and debuffers are SUPERIOR in their effects on the team. i.e. If you ignore the tank-heal-DPS triad, you can build a more powerful team. So then how are the AT's designed around the triad if our systems causes the triad to create an inferior team?Yes you can assemble a team pretty much however you want but the ATs are still designed around the triad and it shows.
A better way to look at it is how do different ATs add to the team, linearly or multiplicatively? In a traditional triad system all characters add linearly, Tanks and Healers through damage prevention and DPS through damage dealing. This means that the pwoer level of a team is relatively predictable. Conversely the nature of buffs and debuffs in our system means that characters focused on damage dealing or personal damage prevention add linearly but buff/debuff characters add multiplicatively. -
Quote:I do. What server are you on?After you get above 200 it gets slow going though. Not many people have capped/near-capped rep,
In order to..... 'hinder' this sort of tactic, if you lie dead in a PvP zone for more than 120 seconds, you immediately go to the hospital whether you like it or not. So you must self-rez less than 2 minutes after dying. -
TL;DR version:
Unless you're coordinating with all the buyers, and placing bids in a systematic manner, it's random enough.

Quote:What's wrong with Force Field? I don't recall seeing such a strong negative opinion about it and I've taken a bubbler to 50 and it seemed fine to me.Several sets also suffer from design issues which can't really be solved without nuking them from orbit (Force Field for example).
I have to disagree on this. If someone comes from an MMO where this triad rules, you can easily use it here - but that's a positive aspect of this system. There are a lot of ways to assemble a team that work. You can do tank/healer/DPS if that's your mindset; or you can go 10 other different directions.Quote:Additionally while the ATs work the basic setup of the Hero ATs is still essentially based on the old style MMO model of Tank-DPS-Support. -
Quote:Maybe they're working on the assumption that the person they are addressing isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.Needless to say...
(I'm always amused by people who say, "Needless to say," then finish the sentence. If it is needless to say, why are you telling me?)
"Needless to say (but I'll spell it out for you, since you have the intellect of a mackerel)...."

I asked this exact question a while back. The impression I got was: close enough to not really matter. If you have any preference of stun vs knockdown, or thematic reasons, go with that.
Since Ironblade is broadsword/regen, for Ironshield (my tank) I went with SD/axe. The edged weapon theme fit better for me. -
Quote:I think they meant access to the storage vault that gives you 30(?) item storage on every toon.um, it's not a fixed number. The storage vault gives you access to the same storage space that you can see by visiting a VAULT STORAGE location on the map. It is not ADDITIONAL storage space. It just lets you access your personal storage without exiting the base and running across the map.Quote:I guess that would make sense. The personal storage space has room for 50,
Also, the amount of storage space varies with your level. What the 'base storage capacity' is at your level is how much the vault can hold. Your character storage can be increased by badges, vet rewards, purchasing the Vanguard storage sack - none of these will increase your vault storage. Example: my level 50 badge collector can store 80 salvage on his person and 50 in the vault. -
Nope. Any temp powers with zero charges or zero use time remaining just disappear.

He knows that. What I THINK he meant was along the lines of: "Does it help if I apologize that it's not free?"
Anyway, regarding hitting 14 too fast - my suggestion is try a different type of character. If your situation does change, and you can subscribe, you'll have a headstart on which characters you like to play and you'll have at least one who has a good start. -
Quote:I think a lot of people might call it a 'zone event', since it's outdoors and is better with multiple teams. However, it is entirely triggered/initiated by the players. Organize some teams and start trashing pylons. Ideally, you want a leader who has done it before giving directions.So.. I needs me some vanguard merits! It looks like the best way to do this is the ship raid. Is this something that is a zone event, like the invasions, or do you just need enough people to take down the pylons?
I think most servers have mothership raids occur on a regular schedule. I know Infinity does. You should post in the section for your server and find out if there is a global channel where the raids are announced. -
Yes, but it's not doing this to the overwhelming majority of customers. Something is causing a problem for a relatively small number of people. There is a workaround and Kitsune is trying to explain it.

Quote:How about "Duh!"?Easy.
1) We all get our maximum toons per server raised to 72.
2) Each gets generic'ed and a rename token. First one to log in and grab the name they both had gets to keep it.

And both people who quoted me left out the smiley.

Quote:Actually, it does. Local lag (i.e. caused by people standing nearby and/or spamming powers) has an impact.Really haven't seen any of the issues people arre talking about.
Yaaa for Justice. -
Quote:No, it worked in a perfectly simple manner. You could put 2500 items in.The limit imposed on the base salvage storage was 999. It did allow for the storing of many more than that though, as once it got full, you could still add similar salvage to the stacks already in there. It was a bit weird how it worked.
You may be thinking of Positron's post about how it was originally intended to work. It was planned to be based on 'stacks' and the limit would be 999. Accordingly, the art work was created with a 3 digit counter. Then it was discovered that the mechanics of it were too complex so they just changed it to 2500 items. The artwork was never changed. -
One small detail: the plot size does not determine the rent. All plot sizes have zero rent. Certain ITEMS in the base cause you to pay rent (storage items, buff stations).

Quote:Actually, it's NOT a task forces, so he does scale. Even though Paragonwiki calls it the 'Mender Lazarus Task Force', it says:Yeah, I'm trying to remember, but I'm pretty sure Nosferatu is an Archvillian, not an Elite Boss. It's a taskforce, so he can't be 'reduced'.
Quote:Unlike normal Task Forces, Archvillains/Heros will spawn as Elite Bosses according to Notoriety and number of players in the team.
That's why I asked if MAYBE he was actually an AV. It varies, based on team size and settings. -
That certainly is a lot of damage. With all damage it's a race to see who can hand out whupass the fastest. Maybe add a buffer or debuffer and see how it goes. Oh, and are you sure he's actually an EB and not an AV?
