Quote:I'm sorry, but you are wrong. It is a completely valid point. As boring as I find most respec runs, this is a point that too many folks are missing. If the respec trial is made hard enough to be a challenge for normal players, then it becomes impossible or near enough for a team of people who may actually really need that respec.
Certainly, the trial can be made more interesting, but it does need to be EASY, and that generally means boring for a good team / skilled players. -
Quote:Oh, I see. I thought you meant blasters in general.I doubt it. A blaster with no buffs? Does that mean they don't use their shields, secondaries or inspirations? Yeah - okay.
You mean blasters deliberately gimping themselves and playing stupidly.
Yeah, I doubt it too. -
Quote:Not seeing a problem here. Do you think that special forces in real life don't use heavy automatic weapons, grenades, claymore mines, etc? Have you seen what Navy SEALs carry, instead of M-16s? The stealth aspect is in bringing tremendous destructive force to the target undetected. The Nacht and Penumbra divisions are supposed to be the covert operations branches of their respective groups according to text.
What we see in game are guys who employ sub-machine guns, high powered rifles (okay), shotguns (what?), grenades, enormous chain guns, and rocket launchers. (WTF?!) -

No, I meant when you're actually playing with your friends. Then you could point out the perpetrator if he walked by, or joined a team you're on. "OMG! That's the moron I posted about!"

I'd read them. I don't give a rats #$@ what strangers on the internet think about me, but I'd read them out of curiosity.
(i.e. No, it would not have any impact on my play style.) -
Quote:The .com version is taken (and way NSFW). Of course, maybe someone grabbed the .com version after the .org one got popular. Is it popular enough to justify trolling for people who get the domain wrong? My favorite part is that it's "theyfightcrime.org." (I like to imagine it as being run by an organization supporting misunderstood pregnant mermaids and insane gentleman spies in their attempts to fight crime and find soulmates.)
P.S. Remember when the telcos had 800 numbers for making long distance calls when away from home (before cell phones were common)? AT&T had 800-OPERATOR and advertised it heavily. Sprint got the number 800-OPERATER to catch people who couldn't spell and sponge off AT&T's advertising. They got so much business for free that AT&T changed their number to 800-CALL ATT.

Quote:Well, it sounds like you're saying you've played invuln a lot. On that basis, I'd go with WP just for variety.Invulnerability, I know well. Willpower, I don't. What are its strengths and weaknesses? Based on its apparent large self healing component, it would likely go quite well with Energy Melee (to counter Energy Transfer's self damage), and it has Quick Recovery, which when paired with Stamina will make it very difficult to run out of endurance (which you may know, will go FAR with me).
As for Stamina, my preference is to skip the Fitness pool on characters with WP or regen sets. That opens up 3 extra power picks. My WP tank has all the key powers, plus Combat Jumping, Tough and Weave by level 26.
As a comment on EM, it sounds like you actually care about damage output. EM isn't really great for damage and you get your big attacks very late. My inv/EM doesn't even have Energy Transfer.
Re the build: No Taunt? WP has a very weak taunt aura. Unless you're going the scranker route, WP needs Taunt more than any other set. -
Quote:I tanked Hamidon with my inv/EM before IO's existed. I've tanked the Statesman TF with a bargain basement build (under 30 million).~ Can Invulnerability properly IOed tank things like Hami, RWZ raids, Statesman TF and AVs without a scratch? (Save of course Psi)
Personally, I didn't really pay much attention. My guy is built for survival. He only has 5 powers from EM (and one is Taunt). I took EM mostly for thematic reasons.Quote:~ What changes have gone through in EM to make it so under played from what I remember in I-8? Are the other choices just THAT much stronger?
Slotting for defense is generally going to be more effective, but it's going to cost more. My invuln went for regen since it's the first set bonus and it's really cheap (like 300% for 30 million inf). After that, I never used Aid Self again until the Statesman TF.Quote:~ I have searched and found no answers for what is better to slot for, Recharge/Regen, or Defense purely. -
Quote:Actually, it is useful. It tells you at a glance that the item in question is 'thinly traded'. The price volatility is caused by extremely low volume. At the opposite extreme, if you see an item with 2000 bidding and 600 for sale, prices will be much more stable.By 'bizarre enormous price swings' I mean something like this:
10,500
5
100
222,222
1
This is not what I would call useful market data.
Also, it tells you that a bid of 15,000 will probably get you the item in a fraction of the duration covered by those bids. Of course, if the bids listed span 6 months, you may wait a while. -
Quote:In my opinion, not at level 27.Stores. But I was looking at IOs, because I was under the impression that I should be migrating away from the SO treadmill.
I don't even think about IO's until about level 32. I don't feel their performance is good enough to use them the rest of that characters life. I start slotting IO's in the early 30's and keep them forever.
The game is balanced around being fully slotted with SO's. In the 'old days', getting enough influence to buy new SO's every 5 levels was a struggle. After the invention system was introduced, affording SO's is easy. -
And none of it matters now because they're in our forumz stealin our repz.

You should be fine asking about a rule proactively.
If you're asking the question after you were advised that you broke the rule, then you're discussing moderation/enforcement which I believe would be bad. -
This is someone you need to 1-star and write a note on. That way you can ensure that you, and your friends, can avoid him in the future.

BTW, Positron advised that the logged out time is tracked in SECONDS. You can check your exact percent progress, log out a few minutes, then log back in to confirm progress. You need to log out for about 3 minutes to progress by .01% - the smallest increment the display will show.

Time to do a respec trial. The second respec (blue side) features Freakshow. The contact is Captain James Harlan in Founders Falls. Minimum level to join is 34 and minimum team size is 4.
The first time you do a respec trial, you automatically get the Transmogrified badge. If you want to get the accolade badge, when you get the reward window at the end, you must choose the respec. Also, getting the accolade badges is not dependent on which trial you do. You can do the 1st trial 3 times and get all the badges - as long as you are high enough level for the 2nd and 3rd times you do it.
1. Ironblade - not sure what toon - maybe 5p4rk (elec/elec tank)
2. Mystery Inc - Blok (stone/stone tank) or other if needed
3. Simian Stalker - War Shield or Rude Dog
4. Gillian Boardman - toon not specified, but bunny ears are likely

Did you know that Nature magazine did an extensive check of Wikipedia's factual accuracy and found it comparable to the Encyclopedia Britannica?

Quote:This is the internet, where everyone is a 6'6" power-lifting, streetfighting god who is also a male model. Apparently, they are also tech experts with lots of knowledgeable and important friends.Well apparently, this fellow is somewhat of a developer fanboy and obsessively follows tweets from BaBs, reads details from their blogs and scours the net in search of details of how the game is made. He also, according to a mutual acquaintance, works in hardware for some company and according to him "has lots of software developer friends who knows how things are done right!"

Quote:My dark/dark scrapper has Smite.I'm curious - Why Skip Smite? It's one of your stronger attacks. I mean, sure, there are other things you can take, from the Primary and Pools, but I'd never skip a good attack. Particularly such a good attack.
My dark/dark tank does not, partially because I'm forced to take the first sucky attack. I don't want that many attacks. -
