Quote:Got it. You have decided that you're not going to unlock the alpha slot on some of your 50's, therefore you're going to strip and delete them. They're your characters so you can do whatever you want with them. Not seeing a problem here.I guess I have some characters that are locked out of the new content. Time to strip and delete, then.
Tedious and unfun are pure opinion. My opinion is different. 'Unfair' is, flat out, BS.Quote:It's a tedious, unfair, and unfun chore. -

Quote:Well, ya know, it doesn't matter if it seems like griefing to you.I get the distinct impression that he was OK with getting ganked a couple times, and was half-way expecting it. But to get ganked, repeatedly, by the same person? That crosses the line; the gankor most likely got no rewards after the first kill. The reward system exists as it is in part to make people switch targets 'cause the devs don't want one guy being fodder for the whole zone. The gankor was going out of his way to be a knob; that, to me, is griefing, ya' know?
Also, the OP said he was getting attacked each time he had a code. If it was taking him more than 5 minutes, then the 'ganker' was indeed getting a rep reward and possible drops each time. Even if it wasn't more than 5 minutes, he was STILL getting a reward - the code. -

Quote:The devs should do nothing. So what do you guys think the Devs should do? In my opinion they should offer an easier way of achieving these PvP badges (Not counting the whole defeat 200 heroes etc, just Rocketman and other PvE in PvP zone badges)
If you don't want to risk getting attacked, stay out of the PvP zones.
If you want those badges, you risk being attacked.
Deal. -
Quote:They are two different people. You know, like on the original Star Trek series - Spock was similar in both dimensions (and had the uber goatee) but Kirk was dramatically different. The alternate universe version was a nut job.But with decision time fast approaching, how do I reconcile the fact that Marcus Cole (evil bad bad man!) is also Statesman (awesome Superhero)?
(Not to be confused with the episode where Kirk was split into good and evil halves by the Transporter.

Weird. My base has two. We had the Ley Tap but I had to add the Dimensional Vortex simply because it's the coolest looking base item. I kept the Ley Tap because it irked me to delete a crafted item. They are in separate rooms.

Most recent Patch Notes (on Test 1/4/11)
I don't see anything related to the Incarnate TFs there. -
What, what? Winter happens EVERY YEAR. What was your point?

Quote:As the system currently exists, NO ONE can ever get that gladiator if they were not around for the 1st and 2nd anniversary events. It's not just villains - it's about being here 'way back when'.Since Villains didn't exist in year one, is it safe to say we will never have access to the 5th Column Gladiator?
Personally, I don't like it. I think a much fairer way would be to have the gladiator linked to *ANY* two anniversary badges. This way, new players could still get it. It would just take a while.
As for the anniversary badges, I don't think those should ever be available again. It makes no sense. Halloween and Christmas come every year, but you're only 16 once. -
Yep, I was on a team with someone who did this - ONCE. I've only seen it done once. I should have taken a screenshot. Hami was... maybe 80-100 feet outside the goo.
-
Quote:Nope, that's not a problem with the theory at all. My contention is that, while the pylons are up, you can be as close as the innermost mito and not get attacked. When the last pylon goes down, people are currently outside the goo, at the pylon. Now, see, the problem with that theory is that after the last pylon goes down, Hami's agro range should be suddenly be expanded and start shooting at everyone... but he doesn't. He does nothing until attacked.
As for this, "He does nothing until attacked.", that is not my experience. Maybe we had bad luck, maybe something got changed at some point, I dunno. But I've seen people get blasted while taking down the mitos - if the pylons are gone. I've only ONCE seen Hami attack someone while taking out the mitos with the pylons up, and it was because someone lagged and physically bumped right into him.
My observations are entirely consistent with a change in aggro range. Now, it's entirely possible that I'm misinterpreting what I saw. Lord knows we had 20 different theories about how supergroup promotions worked, all based on peoples personal observations. -
Quote:Actually, there is neither a population problem, nor too many servers. The fact that they haven't merged servers, or simply made server transfers something like 5 free per month, amazes me.
CoX has a severe population problem and too many servers. They don't want to merge because it looks bad and they know people will crap if they lose their character name.
I guess you are just too easily amazed. -
Level 30-36. The name is "A Mind In Danger".

I have a WP/ice tank at 50. Ice Slick really is brutal. But, with Tough, Weave and nearly capped hit points, I really don't need it that often.
I've run every armor set through Ramiel's arc on teams and my WP tank had the easiest time of it.
Note:
1) My stone tank didn't use Granite.
2) It was not the same team every time, so other players were a variable factor. -
Quote:I don't believe that to be the case.I'm not quite sure where this rumor started but it's complete utter hogwash.
Dunno about other people, but I never said that you did. I just said that leaving the pylons up seems to help. Most of the time, we don't bother. Who cares if a few people die? As long as it's not a Master attempt....Quote:You do not need to leave the pylons up to debuff hami, the green mitos, or to have a peace of mind that you'll actually finish the dang mission. -

Currently one, dedicated to a specific market strategy.
I used to also employ another earning strategy and used a different toon for it.
I don't generate massive amounts of inf, but my needs are modest. I create a toon and play them to 50. At around level 35 I blow all their merits on random rolls and IO them. I only have two toons purpled. -
Quote:I believe it does have a basis in reality. I have been on many runs where the pylons were left until AFTER the mitos were defeated that had ZERO deaths. The only time I can remember someone dying with the pylons left up was when a player lagged (he advised this afterward) and literally ran smack into Hami. Hami attacked and killed him.I am just very curious as to how this started..and if there is any basis for it, at all. I run the tf quite often, and we never leave pylons up, and usually have one or two deaths during that whole mission.
What I've heard, and which my personal observations support, is that leaving the pylons up reduces Hami's AGGRO RANGE. He will completely ignore all players as long as they don't get closer than the innermost mitos.
I can't 100% prove squat. I can only repeat what I was told (by a recognized expert, top badge-hunter and global channel op on my server) and that my personal experience so far supports it completely.Quote:Unless you can 100% cast iron prove that your friends, brothers sg mate who was in coal with that other guy, you know, the one with the badass toon, was on at the same time as the other team who left a pylon up, and saw..SOMETHING.
Now, I could certainly have my perceptions biased by expectations. I'm just saying what I've seen on multiple occasions, but the plural of anecdote is not data. I have no proof. -

Cool! Now, this is your next issue to address before it starts causing problems. Actually, it's likely causing problems already. 3% free space on your primary drive is BAD. VERY BAD. It should never be below 10%.

Quote:My MA/SR is only 43 so I can't speak from experience. My MA/SR is built for crazy recharge, though, so I would just beat him down fast. That tactic worked fine for my BS/regen. He managed to get one bifurcation up, then died. (Okay, not die. He 'gave up' and I had to talk to him.)Due to pc/laptop issues, I was only able to try the trapdoor mission for the first time last night on my ma/sr scrapper and got very frustrated. any advice?
If you can't beat him down that quickly, any scrapper should do enough damage to smack down each duplicate as it appears then go back to smacking Trapdoor.
P.S. "Pogoman, Master of Kick-Fu" Cool title. My MA/SR has a battle cry that says, "Taste my boots!"
