Can anyone verify or debunk the rumor that nukes have been turned off for the Apex and Tin Mage tfs?

As of when? They still worked for us the other day at least. I don't recall any maintenance period since then. Whether or not such a patch is on the Test server and about to go live.. I really don't know.

Most recent Patch Notes (on Test 1/4/11)

I don't see anything related to the Incarnate TFs there.

The patch back on September 28th removed the ability to use Warburg Nukes during the Cathedral of Pain Trial. The assumed reason the Devs imposed that nerf was that the nukes were making the trial too easy to accomplish.

Since the nukes are now being used to defeat the Director 11 AV quickly enough to allow people to earn the relatively hard Midnight Dodger What Dodges at Midnight badge it was RUMORED that the Devs might also decide to disallow them for the Tin Mage TF (at least during that mission at any rate). That's the only rumor related to nukes and the Incarnate TFs I'm aware of.

I agree that most of the time the Devs never mention "fixes" to things they consider exploits. But strangely enough they seemed to break their own rule about that when they mentioned the nuke nerf for the CoP Trial. Go figure.

Yeah; I read the Dev's opinion on nukes for the COP trial as more of a balancing pass than an exploit fix. It's not an exploit to use something the Devs gave you in a creative and very effective fashion.

I don't think they'll take action on this. Using nukes for one AV in the middle of the TF to make that one fight easier is like the Soviet Union making the Tsar Bomba just for kicks. Sure, they can do it, and sure, it works, but it's not something you can do repeatedly in order to expedite the overall win (for the duration of the TF, not for capitalizing on World War III).
