Quote:Same as always - farming it.So what's the most efficient way to farm these stupid things these days?
Find an enemy with a slow-recharging, big attack.
Pop some purples so you can activate Rest right next to it.
Ideally, they will nail you for epic damage, the one-shot code will save you, and you heal to full before the next hit.
Some people recommend one of the Rikti bosses. I used a Rularuu Brute. -

Really? I see people stepping up to explain that it's not a bug. You don't have to like it, but it's not a bug.

Quote:You're fine. In fact, I asked a related question when this was announced. A couple months ago, one of my accounts mysteriously failed to auto-renew (3 month auto-renewing). I got an email from NCSoft that the account had lapsed and immediately re-upped. My account actually LAPSED for several hours.Am I disqualified from the Seven Year program since I cancelled? The account never lapsed, I just withdrew payment for my next charge, which was scheduled to happen tomorrow. The website thought that I had deactivated my card, and I'd like to still be eligible for these awesome gifts.
When the rewards were announced, I explained what had happened to me previously and said I'd be pretty annoyed if I lost out because NCSoft's billing was borked. I was told that the account needs to be active every day - as long as a lapse is less than 24 hours, you're fine. In your case, the account never lapsed at all. -
Quote:And yet I'm still getting as many as ever.hmm wel it seems to me that they have nerfed the shard drop rate i do know for a fact that sence the alpha was started i got at least 4 on a tf and 2 on a solo mish, but sence they started the strikeforce tf iv gotten zero with my tier 1 and brand new lv 50 classe's.
To be precise, we were told that defeating any enemies level 50 or higher can drop shards. That was true then. It is true now. Nothing has changed.Quote:we were told that any lv 50 mish will drop shards and before the stkforce targets that was correct but now its a huge lie.
Completely wrong.Quote:the beauty of this game was that you didnt need to always be in a huge group to get what you needed now its seems to be made mandatory to be in groups to get any shards. -

Quote:It is much better to look good than to.... um......... I got nuthin'.The other day I was doing an STF and we had a widow on the team who only had one attack.
Oh sure, they were level 50. And had other powers. But only one of them was an attack. They had the entire leadership pool, and all the powers you could think of, but not attacks. In combat, they just stood there. Looking pretty.
Worst builds I ever saw.... I guess there were a few that were missing some absolutely key power.- The /regen scrapper who was level 40 and kept getting held in a Carnie mission. I was going to tell him to turn on Integration but noticed that he didn't have it.
- The invuln tank who absolutely insisted she was an expert at herding and would gather up Shadowhunter's wolves. Oddly, they kept killing her in seconds. Oh, because Temporary Invunerability wasn't on? No, because she didn't even HAVE it.
- The rad defender assembling a team to do Maria Jenkins' arc..... with the second person on the team being his buddy who was also a rad def. And neither of them had EVEN ONE DEBUFF POWER.
-
I don't think 50 is unreasonable, but it's at the high end of 'reasonable' so I would agree we don't need any more. I gauge the 'reasonableness' against the other final epic badges (healing, influence, etc). Even with those having been reduced, I think most of them will take longer than the Partner badge.

Actually, he's the mutant killer created by combining... oh, wait... that was WEAPON 11......
Carry on. -
Also, if you have questions while in-game, you can join the Mentor Project channel. Follow the link in my signature for details.

No, the tier 3 AND the tier 4 give you a level shift. You can only have one active, but you don't have to wait for the 4th tier to get the level shift.

Just keep in mind that, if one of the long-absent members happens to return during that time, they will get the red star since you are ineligible.

Quote:I agree. A boss would drop either 3 or nothing. There is no partial credit on the Vanguard Merits for defeats. As far as I am aware, the Vanguard Merits are drops, and we would not receive partial credit for them. A oss is worth 3 Merits, so you'd either get 3, or not get any at all. If it looks like you only got 1 Merit for a Boss, it's likely it was actually awarded as a mission completion bonus when the Boss was defeated.

Quote:The overwhelming majority of Kahn TF's do *NOT* get done in 20 minutes. It gives 30 merits. That means the median completion time was datamined at way the hell over 20 minutes (more like 90).Quote:Most of my Khans have taken 40-60 minutes in the last week. I have a feeling I'm going to hate WSTs effects on merit rewards.I would hope the devs would have more of a clue than to use the WST run times to adjust the rewards. I ran the Kahn TF for my SG on Friday and we ran it like we always run our TF's - no speeding at all. We cleared a path to every objective, detouring to any mobs within a reasonable distance to either side. I made it clear we weren't speeding, I told them I expected it would be 90 minutes and the actual time was 99.Quote:For the majority of the populus, I would agree, but my sg doesn't take that long. We set our records and try to beat them, this is also the fun part of these weeklys, our casual runs are between 30-40 minutes. I can't possibly see how a Kahn would take 90 minutes to complete. Unless you are defeating everything on every map, which is possible but I don't waste my time clearing every map.
On the other hand, on the other 22 runs since Tuesday, I would estimate the average time was around 30-33 minutes. We sped and stealthed everything we possibly could. The runs this week are not typical - particularly since the introduction of shards. -
Quote:Yes, that would be above average, but that is such a small data sample that it's completely meaningless in any evaluation of the drop rate.Edit: Now that I'm thinking about it...I'm not sure that's correct. A tank and I "cleaned up" 2/3 of the map after a successful ITF run last night (all other 6 players had left the group). I got 4 shards during the clean-up and I think the tank got 3. Unusually high for the time invested in my experience.

I don't agree at all. My /regen scrapper is my favorite scrapper. I tried a few other secondaries but, since I am used to playing them on tanks, I found them grossly deficient on a scrapper. Regen has the 'potential' to be more survivable than most of the other sets, but you need to anticipate attacks and react quickly. Sometimes triggering Dull Pain before you take any damage will mean the difference between living and dying.Quote:
What I have found is that regen relies on panic buttons while say shields or invincibility rely on toggles. Toggles are FAR superior to panic buttons. When you are one shot from full health to death you can't even cast a panic where as a toggle would probably have prevented me from being one shot.
As for Reichsman, his attacks are over the top. On one run, I died less than a stone tank running Granite. (And my primary is broadsword, so I was standing right next to the enemy the entire fight.) It's just bad luck you got obliterated multiple times. -

Quote:No, Atomic was not wrong. We can state with absolute certainty that "quite a lot of characters collecting dust and keeping names tied up." Now, we can debate just how many constitutes "quite a lot" but there can be zero doubt that a great many names are held by inactive accounts. When you consider that any character over level 6 (if memory serves) is exempt from name purges, I suspect there are quite a lot of characters collecting dust and keeping names tied up.
