  1. That will run it fine, as long as you run the Golden Age version of CoH.
  2. The big advantage of a SSD is in seek time, rather than transfer rate. i.e. An application with large files like CoH sees a moderate improvement. Something that loads dozens, hundreds or thousands of files (like Photoshop, or Windows) sees a massive improvement.

Those outrageous claims about "Windows loads in 15 seconds" are absolutely true.

Not a bug. That's why the captive has a question mark "Crey Captive?". The 'captive' is a Nemesis automaton.

Now by your reasoning one extra person can not ever reach a max capacity no matter how many people log on but that would mean that our max capacity is infinite which would mean we wouldn't even have a need to show server load at all sense it would always be the same no matter how many people are playing.
This is obviously complete nonsense and not at all what I said. We all know damn well that server capacity is not infinite and I never said anything of the sort.

But considering the average player is not rich and can't afford top of the line computers. Keep in mind I gradually upgraded my computer over the last 7 years to be able to handle the game better I didn't get it right away like this. So to the average player, Freedom is in fact overpopulated as population, though not the only reason for lag, does play a major factor in how much lag the average player experiences.

Simply put if the average player is still the one complaining about lag all the time, the sever is overpopulated.
No. Every server has location congestion at various times and places. If a particular player has lag issues, then they need to avoid crowds.

If the server has such high load that EVERYONE has lag, THEN it's overcrowded. Not before.

Secondly, the fact that it would be extended was announced yesterday.
Then something went south and things diverged from plan at that point.

Nope. The EULA makes it clear that there may be downtime.

Oh, wait, people ARE overreacting. Business as usual. We now return to our previously scheduled program.

If you're using SOs only, and skipped Resist Energies and Resist Elements, then maybe you'll want a single Res Enhance in Unstoppable, but otherwise....
If you didn't take all the passives, put one resistance enhancer in it. If you took the passives, put one recharge - just in case. Really, you should be going multiple missions without using Unstoppable at all.

Wrong. The only 'fact' is that red means a certain "server load". Since they only have 3 levels to display, you can't assume that red means 'danger' or 'overloaded'. By definition, these measures will move from yellow to red with the addition of one more player once it is at the upper extreme of 'yellow load'. Are you seriously going to claim that red automatically means "overpopulated" because one additional person logged in? The problem with that meter is a lack of granularity. For all we know, red simply means operating between 67% and 100% capacity.

Also, "overpopulated" is a VALUE JUDGMENT. I don't think anyone would disagree that Freedom is the "most populated" server. But "overpopulated" is purely a matter of opinion.

Our parent company is in Birmingham so we have a 5 hour time difference *BUT* they don't change the clocks at the same time we do. So, for two weeks in the Spring, it's a 4 hour difference and for two weeks in the Fall, it's a 6 hour difference. feh!

oops, no one replied to this yet. Yes, Rogues can join. For a blue side task force, you can be Hero, Vigilante or Rogue.

The only downside of a Rogue is that you can't use Ouroboros or bases for travel since you get treated as a Villain for those amenities.

Well, the GM was still wrong or someone misunderstood someone. You do NOT need to change your search parameter to get more screens of results in the search window.

Next, the globalids and friends list, this can't be more than 8-15 for each. Are you hiding yourself based on this small listing?
um... I think we're misunderstanding each other here. Are you talking about the global friends list? I think the capacity is 200. I can guarantee it's over 100. (Yes, I counted my global friends.)
  15. Those are some pretty kick-*** stats for a laptop. Looks good.

It sure is. I'm running it off a 128GB Crucial SSD.
  16. It depends what you want to slot in the powers (i.e. IO sets) and what you can afford to slot. For example, in Tough Hide, I would put two slots UNLESS I wanted set bonuses. For sets, I'd probably have 4 slots - there are a lot of sets where I would want either 4 pieces or 2 pieces each from 2 sets.

For Invincibility, 'ideally', I'd have 3 slots each with a Hami O (I forget the name of it) that gives defense buff / to hit buff / end reduction. That HO is *GOLD* for that power (and great for Fortitude also).

Right, all the extra calculations. If they took that powerset away from them, and got rid of their capes, the lag would go away. But they really wouldn't be Cimerorans any more.

Except it won't show up on the map. I think we need an option like we have in city zones - show names. So each room would say POWER, MEDICAL, etc.

Bingo! If this channel was active 6 years ago, it's probably dead now. The global channels eventually fill up with inactive accounts and people start a NEW version of the channel and all the active accounts migrate over to the new one. You need to get the names of the global channels that are currently active for your server.

(I don't play on Freedom much, so I can't offer any suggestions.)

(To clarify, I don't start filling up my WW slots with bids when the toon is 15. I use a level 50 who isn't busy to start buying the stuff weeks in advance.)

Maybe, but that's not why I do it. In my opinion, the sweet spot for IO sets is in the mid 30's - high enough to be powerful, but low enough that you can exemp for most game content and keep your bonuses. I have a level locked toon to take random rolls to get stuff I need, then sell what's left.

Also, I do lots of task forces while leveling and my characters blow all their merits on random rolls when they hit 35, for the same reason.

Okay, you're making up explanations here about how people are supposedly thinking. I play on Infinity and it's NON-STOP WST EVERY WEEK. If I wanted to do the WST 3 or 4 times per night, I could get on teams EASILY.

And you're not finding teams on a more populous server? You're on the wrong global channels. I'm on the 3 biggest badge/TF channels on my server and there are TF teams CONSTANTLY. Seriously. I did the Kahn TF TWENTY-FIVE times that week. (Because it can be run fast and I really like it.)

I know it sounds trite but, if you're having trouble getting teams on Freedom, "you're doing something wrong."
