I just found out if you click on the time in question it takes you to a "time shift" site.
The criteria on that states 5am San Francisco time, so I'm guessing the stated time is actually PDT...Few people recognize a difference.
The mods are terrible with time conversions/time zones. At least they're only announcing one time and linking to a conversion site now, instead of giving a big list of (often wrong) converted times.
They mean PDT. They really should just say "Pacific" if they don't recognize the difference between PDT and PST at a glance.
Although really, the world should just get rid of Daylight Saving Time altogether, and then we wouldn't have this issue! (Especially considering different countries do DST at different times... that's helpful!)

To make things worse the applications of DST isn't consistent across the US. Arizona, Hawaii, and most territories don't use DST. Arizona gets really complicated. The Navajo Nation, a large part of which is in Arizona does use DST. The Hopi Reservation, which is both in Arizona and completely surrounded by the Navajo Nation does not use it.

I'd be in favour of keeping Daylight Savings all year around though.
I don't really care if it's GMT (I'm British so will use British terms 
) or BST. But lets just have one or the other all year please.

I thought to myself, "I thought they said 5 AM PT, not 4 AM PT."
Another message popped up at 6:35 announcing 25 minutes to server shut-down.
At 6:50 a third message popped up announcing 10 minutes to server shut down.
"Oh well, I should at least be able to get one more mission in," I figured. Unfortunately, my next mission was the Defeat 80 Clockwork mission from Praetorian Penny Yin and I could tell I wasn't going to finish it in the time I had left.
Then, at 6:55 AM ET, a fourth red message popped up saying, "Please disregard all previous messages. Server maintenance will begin in 1 hour and 5 minutes."
I lol'ed, finished beating down the Clockwork at 7:02 AM ET, and logged off to get ready for work.
It was fun to imagine one of the higher-ups at Paragon Studios at home just starting a TF when the 10 minute message popped up and then making a quick call to the office to say, "5 AM! We said 5 AM, not 4 AM!"

Our parent company is in Birmingham so we have a 5 hour time difference *BUT* they don't change the clocks at the same time we do. So, for two weeks in the Spring, it's a 4 hour difference and for two weeks in the Fall, it's a 6 hour difference. feh!
