  1. You are welcome to my VG Order of the Dark Sun. Most of our characters do RP, and we have our plots online. Lenina is leader: http://union.virtueverse.net/wiki/Lenina
Drop a tell to @intussusceptor to join.
  2. I run an Elec/Energy, Lenina. She was actually my first character who survived her 20s, but she's still going strong. Lightning rod do great PBAeE damage and Overload make you survive team wipes. The combination also replicate two things you usually don't like enemies doing to you, and that you may remember with awe from other games: jumping charges and endurance drain.

A downside of elec/nrg is that you are vulnerable to toxic and psionic damage. In addition, you will need to boost your other defenses by IOs to achieve softcap. Use 4-slotted Kinetic Melee in as many single target powers you can afford, and 6-slot Scirocco Dervish in AoE powers (not just one of them). Get Combat Jumping and Weave, a +3% def IO, and maybe sacrifice one of the elec powers with a 6-slotted taunt set (they have great defense buffs, and are cheap).
  3. Thanks, now I get how it works

    Sincerely in Capitalism, Intussusceptor
  4. As a laissez faire capitalist, I was first really happy when I saw the Free Trade Advocate badge on my low hanging fruit report (City info tracker). So two of my 50s immediately went rogue, and hung around in shops in hero area in order to get the pre-requirement Price Gouger badge. But the info on the cohtitan wiki is dubious, as it first say that Price Gouger and Free Trade Advocate is the rogue equivalent of Shop Keeper and Entrepreneur, but then say that only heroes and vigilantes can get the badges.
Do I need to be hero to get the badges, and if I can't get Free Trade Advocate as rogue, do that badge really exist at all?
  5. I agree with Rsclark.

With current system, your ability to take attacks do not increase linear (as damage buffs do) or exponential (as Rsclark suggest), but asymptotic, an extreme form of faster than exponential growth. You reach an infinite value (division by zero) upon reaching a finite parameter (50%). When soft-cap kicks in, you're 10 times stronger (+900%) in terms of receiving attacks.

Let's compare the effects of defense buffs to damage buffs. If you add 1% to 44% defense, you will take 16.667 percent (1/6) less damage in the long run. If you want to achieve that 16.667 percent by increasing your DPS, you need 20 percent higher (6/5) DPS. In addition, damage buffs from IO set bonuses do not multiply with damage buffs from enhancements. If you have +90% damage from enhancements, you need a whooping +38% damage from IO sets to raise your DPS by 20 percent. At that point, one unit of defense buff is worth 38 units of damage buff.

It's of course correct that defense buffs should yield more than damage buffs in terms of survival, but maybe not 38 times more...
  6. Tailor:
*Female muscle (mesomorph slider and skin texture options)
*Patterns available for tops with skin and shirts
*Power customization for pool powers and epics

    Mission Architect:
    *Power customization for creatures
*Temporary powers, like grenades in Lambda
*Allow triggered effects, for instance a nuclear explosion on mission fail, or an airstrike when boss has 75% health.
*Allow grouped glowies (aka glowies with the same name) to trigger something for each completed and something other for completing all. That's good for making something like the Diablo encounter in Diablo II, where each seal triggered a spawn, and the boss was triggered on complete all.
    *Timed triggers

    IO system
*Visual cue for proc damage type

    General
*I love the complex mechanics in BAF, which actually require strategy and team coordination. I hope for more like that in new contents.
  7. /signed * 10!

I really like your idea. Special powers add a level of depth to missions, and I hope that Lambda is just the beginning. But we need a way to make they easily distinguished from normal powers, and your idea is great. Special powers should not rely on preconfigured binds or empty slots in the first power tray.
  8. I'm one of those who don't want an option to skip the cut scenes of BAF. Mother Mayhem look great, and I have a couple of toons that would love to walk in her clothes.

How about a Mother Mayhem costume set? It has to be somewhat exclusive, preferable a paid booster back or at least require the Master of the B.A.F. Badge.
  9. I suggest to keep both sound effects, and have them available in power customization.

Got an Elec/nrg brute too, Lenina. She was actually my first toon that survived till her 20s, and she is now very grateful to the Ion Judgement because it totally fit her concept.
  11. Carnies because of their death cries.
Anything that I can link to socialism (luddities, spetsnaz) or nazis (5th column, Council).
Malta because Sappers endurance drains add another layer of challenge.
  12. You don't have to feel guilty. Maybe the buyer just found something that paid very well, and she wanted to celebrate it by overbidding. Maybe she made an experiment to see the effect on market volatility. Maybe she just typed a few zeros too much. Maybe she wanted to anonymously help a random player...

Consider it luck or an anonymous gift.

We get a couple powers that throw or toss, but then we start spitting at the enemy? For a set that appeals to all the evil mad scientists out there, that's a bit irritating.

At least if my character were making hand motions, I could pretend I was using some kind of hose or something. I don't get why my chemist would be ingesting his chemicals just to vomit them up later.

I have a soldiers/poison MM with the concept of a general with chemical weapons. The only way I can explain his poison emission is a combination of a weird variant of gastroesophageal reflux disease and a habit to compete in long-spitting contests.
  15. I totally agree, would happily pay far more than the usual $10 for a regular booster pack.
    Here's my personal comments:

    * Asymmetrical Body Slots
    Nice for complex asymmetrical clothing

    * Add Sliders to individual parts.
Got two amazon women among my toons, who would greatly appreciate a slider to get bigger or bulkier arms +++++

    * Alternate Skins:
They would appreciate a muscular skin too of course

    And I have an addition:
The patterns are great, but I want to have them on "Tops with skin" and "Shirts" in the same way as they are available on "Tight". I occasionally see styles IRL that I want to replicate in-game, and if it fail, it's usually because "Tops with skin" and "Shirts" lacks patterns.
  16. I agree with Shadow Ravenwolf that it fits better in a booster pack. I haven't had issues with the current character height range, as eight feet is very tall, and four feet is extremely short.
But i see a use for this in Mission Architect. Some NPC's are taller than eight feet, and pushing the limits would be nice for creating small animals or big monsters.
  17. Your SG needs to heal 5M hitpoints in order to obtain the Auto-Doc Plans Badge, which unlock Tree of Wonders

I'm glad you like my character writing. I'm only on Union. Going online now as Lenina.
  19. You are welcome to Order of the Dark Sun.
We have a large base, teleports to all zones, tier-3 tech and arcane temporary power crafting tables. Our invention stacks are somewhat organized, so one is for standard IO's, one for A-I sets, one for J-S, and one for T-Z. All stacks and tables are near the entrance, restoration point and teleports.
I'll be around at 9pm UK time, my global is @intussusceptor.

    Enjoy your day!
  20. Not sure if the OSX version have a different default key config, but try
/bind F1 "inspexec_slot 1" in the chat prompt, and repeat up to F5

    Hope it works

    I did also notice that.
  22. I have an idea for a future booster pack: Muscle Booster

Primary content is tailor options for muscular women. I think about a slider for arm bulkiness, available for men as well.

Secondary content is the Intramuscular Injection power, in which you inject oil in someones bicep. It has a long recharge and random effect, similar to Mystic Fortune. However, itÂ’s much riskier, and may cause debuff, loss of health or a delayed endurance crash. Due to the nature of injections, you need to be very close to the receiver, and the long activation time makes it impractical to do during combat.

Tertiary content is a few emotes, likes burpees, bicep curls etc.

Quaternary content is gym equipment for the SG base.
  23. I actually found the solution in another thread by Necrotron. A shortcut to cityofheroes.exe with the "-project EUCoH" switch did the trick, and did also solve another annoyance

  24. I have a Razer Diamondback mouse with six buttons + wheel. I have no problems with the mouse on my desktop computer running Windows XP, but the wheel and the extra buttons does not work in CoH on my new laptop running Windows 7. I've installed the drivers, and the wheel works fine in other applications, for instance Firefox, but not in CoH.
  25. Is there a command line argument for the game to force it to run on monitor #2?
