Vet Reward: scale limits increased by 10%

I know there are solid reasons why we will never get a full growth or shrinking set, or maybe even perk powers like a certain competitors out-of-combat size change perk powers.

But for an as of yet unnamed vet reward, would it be possible to push the ceilings and floors of overall character scale up and down, respectively, by say 10%?

Out of all my characters, I only have 2 off hand that I'd like to see as either extraordinarily large or diminutive. Personally think this would be a nice visual option for long time vets.

Maybe in a Booster, but Hell No for being a "yet unnamed" Vet Reward. Something such as this shouldn't be locked out of the playerbase for up to 7 years from now.

I'm not going to go into the "tall characters already have height and camera angle issues in Caves and tight spots" but technical limitations may be the reason this hasn't been added before this time. Afterall, I've seen this requested regularly over the past (almost) 7 years.

I agree with Shadow Ravenwolf that it fits better in a booster pack. I haven't had issues with the current character height range, as eight feet is very tall, and four feet is extremely short.
But i see a use for this in Mission Architect. Some NPC's are taller than eight feet, and pushing the limits would be nice for creating small animals or big monsters.

I have no problem with this being introduced as a QoL improvement that's either freely introduced to the game or as part of some kind of Booster Pack. But I'd be totally AGAINST this idea as future Vet Award. In fact I almost couldn't think of a WORSE idea for something to be as any kind of Vet award, and I'm saying that as a 81 month Vet myself.

As Shadow Ravenwolf pointed out suggestions like these have been made for years. The backlash something like this would generate from newer players as a 7+ year Vet award would incredible. And I'd be personally mad if this was a Vet award because even though I would likely have it ASAP I'd consider it a gigantic waste of a potential high end Vet award.

So a big "yes" to the idea but a big "no" to it as a Vet award.

Why go to the effort of recoding character size limits and then only give access to it to a very small fraction of players. Seems kind of dumb to me. Especially considering that this has been requested by a lot of people for a long time.

I agree with the Romulan Colonel Sanders - this is a bad idea for a 7+ year veteran reward. I wouldn't even want to see this in a Booster Pack, to be honest. I would personally really want to see something like this for free.

Believe you me - if I could make some of my characters 10% taller. I SO WOULD! Like, just about immediately. If this is deemed too "something" for a free Issue, then I would indeed pay extra for it. Just that in a booster pack would be enough for me, I want it that much.

I'm not a super-serious Trekker/Trekkie and even I know that avatar is of Star Trek's Kahn, not a Romulan.

Wasn't Khan a Romulan? I wouldn't know either way, they almost never showed any Star Trek on TV here.

Nope, not a Romulan. He was a eugenically enhanced human from Earth that Kirk and company dealt with in an episode of the Original Series. He was a cool enough villain that they brought him back to be the main villain in the second Star Trek movie.

Khan is probably the single most famous Star Trek villain there ever was. Like I said I'm sure there are people out there who know 100x more about it than I do, but knowing about Khan is probably so basic they'd teach in "Sci-Fi for Kindergartners" if there were such a thing.

While I don't care how it happens, I would love to make Wee Monseiur even smaller.

Hmmm Kahn or Q...and why wasn't Q ever brought in during a Star Trek movie?!

There are also a couple of books with Gary Seven and Khan and a couple of books that deal with the time between Khan being exiled on the planet and Star Trek II. Just shows that marooning people on a world requires periodic checks if you are a civilized person. IMO, they are better than the usual official Star Trek fan fiction.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

Well... You learn something new every day. So that's why people draw comparisons between the Wrath of Kahn and Nemesis.

So, how about them model sliders?

I think you just answered your own question. Q was a cool Star Trek villain but obviously Khan was the biggest because not only did he get to be in one of the best Star Trek movies but...

Khan was the direct inspiration for Nemesis. The bad guy in Nemesis was a "genetically engineered" dude who had this big personal vendetta against (in that case) Picard. It was a fairly direct attempt to create a Khan-like villain for Picard. Not quite sure it really worked out, but it was what it was.

Anyway, just to try to pretend to get back on topic, I'll say yes to the sliders again as a NON-VET QoL improvement.

I would however appreciate they scale down some of the 8-foot normal guys like the ones that "know something" near black markets, or the max size of generic council minions and the likes.

8 foot IS super tall. But unreasonably large NPCs don't make it feel like that a lot of times.
