Well what a fun evening, Bombshot didnt turn up until 10:30 or so lol, by which point I had started the game as dealer, with Emily One (fanservice), summin of Battle.. Izzy (The Evils) and 'Used-to-be-sword-of-redemption' Ed playing. By the point Dave turned up, Ed was down $72.50, Emily was up $22.50 and Izzy was up $50.

It all came down to one momentus last hand, with a pot of $540. Emily had folded; Izzy had 2 pair - 10's (pocket) and 2's with jack high; Dave had a full house - 2's full of 6's; but Ed clawed it all back with a jack on the turn giving him a full house - jacks full of 2's. Taking the pot and winning the game, leaving everyone else out of pocket.

Great night.

Anywho, sorry i couldnt make it tonight, was working on my car all day for its MOT and still have some work to do on it (after a wonderful 6 hours spent trying to change a simple rubber seal behind the brake disc - which involved dismantling the entire driveshaft :S); but just rear brake shoes and bleed and change the brake fluid.

But will be there for the next one!

Exactly, getting the cold shoulder is fun. Leads to engaging conversation, but as previously stated - people dont always stick to the law and assume Paragon US army is the same as 2008 Bush US army. But by the by its been great fun so far. And i got to use the phrase; "We're the US army, son. Maybe you've heard of us?" which made me happy.

Nice vids, so gutted my fights have gone. Whens the next fight night? Got SG arena fights tonight, so i'll get some practice in.

I think the idea is great, i like to see great costumes - to the same degree that i hate to see bad ones. So quite alot then.
I love to participate and run costume competitions to see how other people are interpreted the use of the system. I know i end up with a 'style' that i use, and have favourite pieces. Go for it.

Stepping into the cage, Joseph Infinus aka. Infinitron took in the thunderous applause. Raising a hand in acknowledgement, he looked at them. He'd only signed up to this charity event for something to do. The business was now closed, and he no longer patrolled the streets - but here at least he could do some good. For charity, with no chance of anyone really getting hurt.
Whilst thinking on this, Infinitron heard the buzzer go to start the fight. Just a friendly charity bout against this Pyro kid, nothing too serio..
Infinitron was cut off as Pyro Raven had jumped straight across the ring and smacked him with an energy punch. Taken aback, Infinitron stumbled, and Pyro followed up with another massive hit - sending Infinitron smashing though cage wall. Infinitrons head - not encased in his normal battle armour, as he wore a simple black assault uniform - smacked against the railing outside the cage.
He pulled himself up, and stared at Pyro with his one eye - with seemingly furious anger. The crowds cheers began to grow quiet.
Standing up, Infinitron couldn't remember where he was. The walls were washing back and forth, and his ears rang. Looking up, he saw a figure infront of him. "Who is this?" Infinitron thought, as the figure came into focus. There stood the bloodied corpse of Dark Ebon Spider. "I've come back to finish the fight Joe" said Spider. Clenching his fists, Infinitron stood to full height.
"NOOO! This ends now!" Shouted Infinitron. Pyro didn't know where to look, he had no idea what was happening, and no idea what was to come. He went to shout to the referee to call off the fight.
But, at that moment, Infinitrons body burst with an aura as his pent up energy became physical. He launched forward, smacking pyro in the chest with both his fists, doubling pyro over - then began pummeling him, hit after hit after hit. Dazed and shocked, pyro stood standing, wobbling, but standing. Infinitron focused his energy into his palm and thrust it into Pyro's chest once more - sending him hurtling across the cage. Picking up his rifle, the crowd gasped in shock. Infinitron raised it, and took aim.
Pyro pulled himself up to his feet, his eyes suddenly going wide, "No, don't!" he exclaimed as he ran forward to stop Infinitron - but it was futile. Pyro's world slowed, and the sound faded away to the point where all he could here was the dlow metallic clunk from within the rifle. There was a quiet explosion, then a firm thud in Pyro's ribs. Slowly and majestically he fell to the floor - knowing he was dead.
The world suddenly sped back up as the claxon was sounded. Infinitron dropped to his knees as the paramedics ran into the cage to see to Pyro. At that point, Infinitron keeled over.
"He's fine!" Shouted one of the paramedics,"Inf used rubber rounds! He's just unconcious with a couple of broken ribs."
Both gladiators were put on stretchers and removed from the cage, again to the same thunderous applause as they entered to. What a start to the night.

I have been lurking in this thread (only resubbed the other day) and this looks like great fun. Unsure how Inf would be able to explain using his AR during a charity event. Unless it is also 'Virtual' and the effects are merely 'imagined' on the recepient. Only other hero that would fit is far too low level. If you'll have me, i'll be there at 9.

Ah wonderful to see this up; have a nice little scenario on how this effects Inf formulating in me head.

Medical Supply Convoy Attacked

The culprit responsible for a terrible attack on a supply convoy yesterday is yet to be identified. The shipment contained much needed medical supplies for the Steel Canyon hospital; included in the supply was anti-cancer drugs, and even a new heart for 7 year old Fiona Thompson. At 6pm last night, "the trucks were halted by an explosion in the road", says an eyewitness, "and this figure jumped down, he looked like one of them arachnos - but different, anyway he jumped down, opened the door to the truck and just killed the driver and the passenger. Just like that, that's when i ran." After this, the shipment was destroyed using small explosives. The suppliers of the medical supplies, Infinicorp. say that a new shipment is en route to accomodate the loss, and that precautions have been taken to ensure a repeat does not happen.

"Some hero company other side of the canyon, target is some fool called 'Dark Ebon Spider', sounds like a recluse wannabe to me. Man that money would be sweet..."

“Stanford, increase the power to 80% to my bench and turn off the shields” said Joseph Infinus to his head RnD scientist.
“Are you sure that’s wise sir? You remember what happened yesterday, are you sure you have fixed the – ‘explodiness’?” he replied with a smirk on his face.
“Well, I’m pretty sure. One way to find out” he added with a matching smirk.
“SHIELD SYSTEM DEACTIVATED” announced the VI computer. But as it did so, the pair of boots on the table began to vibrate and the left one suddenly disintegrated. The right one wobbled to a halt.

“Well, at least it didn’t explode this ti...” Infinus said but was cutoff by the sound of an almighty explosion and the whole building shaking. Infinus rushed to the window and looked out. All he saw was the dark outline of Steel Canyon. This was not a good thing.

“The war walls are down; I only told you to turn off the shields on the bench Stanford, not the entire city” commented Infinus with a smile as he picked up his helmet and secured over his head, booting up the display features.
“Very droll sir, Rikti is it? From previous experience it would seem their style” Stanford replied.
“Yeah it is, there’s one of those bombers out the window” said Infinitron, adding “you might want to leave the room, I suggest the basement” picking up his assault rifle from its stand. As Stanford left the room, the blast doors sealed the lab.

Infinitron raised the rifle to his shoulder, selecting burst fire mode, and shot the window. As the window shattered, Infinitron kept the rifle poised and released a Light Medium Range Missile into the side of the passing ship. It got their attention, and guns swivelled to take in this new threat, and started blasting; but Infinitron wasn’t there, he’d already jetted out the window of the 25th floor, hurtling towards the ground. Coming into focus in Infinitrons visor was a white shape that too was falling to the ground. No less constructed of metal than Infinitron, but not nearly as devastating, Infinitron thought to himself as he increased his descent speed to keep up with the falling bomb before it hit.

Swooping in an arc, he caught the bomb out of the air, and immediately began his ascent. Dodging the energy fire from the ship was hard enough without carrying a 2 tonne bomb; so Infinitron was relieved that the ships attention was being distracted by a caped figure who was trying to damage the propulsion system at the back of the ship. Infinitron didn’t recognise them, and swooped around the far side of the ship. As Infinitron reached the rear of the ship to help this plucky hero, they were nowhere to be seen. Unperturbed, Infinitron landed on the top rear of the ship. Grabbing his rifle, he used the flamethrower to begin melting the hull of the ship. A whole didn’t appear, the hull had been strengthened it seemed, but it had become soft – so Infinitron just lifted the device and used his strength to just smash it into the softened hull. It had done the job; the bomb was now fused to the hull. In a stylish backflip, more for himself than for any particular onlookers, he leapt off the ship. He saw it try to turn, but it was too late, they couldn’t outrun this threat. As the bomb went off the ship plummeted down into the lake, coming to rest at the western shore.

Realising that this was an invasion, not just a solitary incursion, Infinitron took the rifle in a firing position, set it to full auto, and sped towards the crowds of Rikti below...

Brilliant, a great read. Any chance with the next one to do a stage by stage one with about 4/5 screenies. Would be Really interesting to see the development.

Nice work, i know several of my villains have just joined up with arachnos now. Great work.

yeah noone was on, stayed on for an hour to check, did a couple of missions to pass the time - bubble/elec defender = very hard to solo lol.

I had heard this - even though i never have been interested in the DnD world, i have nothing but respect for the guy who created such a successful and deep developed world. It's truly a great loss to the entire roleplaying community.

May he rest in peace, wherever that may be.
