  1. I'd like some guidance on how ppl are doing this in like 40 mins. Seems to take forever on teams with mobs spawned for 8.
  2. Hey just used this guide to get COH/V up and running on my macbook.

    Question on keys: on the Macbook keyboard, what takes the place of the Insert / Home / Page Up/ Page Down / End keys? My camera controls (far, near, spin) were all attached to those on my XP box.

    Also - using the macbook trackpad is there any way to approxmiate the "camera look" you can do by right-clicking and moving the mouse?

    Any other missing keys I should know about?

  3. I took out the Vindicators yesterday at 46 on Abyss's arc. Took out Mynx & Lumi first, separately, without too much trouble. Then actually took out Ms. Liberty pretty quick relative to the previous mission where it took *forever* to bring her down (she keeps using Unstoppable). Then it was Valkyrie -- slow to bring down the first time, but I got her. Mish completes. And then she rezzes. So I'm like, OK, what the hell -- down to like 1-2 small purples and 1 heal. So I start fighting her again, use Gang War to keep her occupied as I reposition Poison Trap etc. It's a tough, long fight waiting for her Tier 9 to wear off. I put down one final trip mine but it's too far away from her. She nails me with a ranged attack, I die, pets dissapear, and simultaneously as she takes a step closer to my corpse the trip mine goes off and knocks down her last health sliver. She dies. Woohoo. Fun times

    This is on my Thugs/Traps.

    Don't want to jack Lumi's guide but thought I'd reply.

    I use RoA->Explosive->Fistful or RoA->Exp->Blazing on more than 1 mob. The way the anims work Explosive hits just when RoA does. I use Explosive SO FRAKKING MUCH that I put a Force Feedback Chance for +Rchrg in it.


    My other Arch/ slotting is below, FWIW.

    I also use a lot of single-target melee attacks when I run on Invinc solo or the one just below it. TF is a thing of glory and BS ain't bad either. This is a high regen and HP build (I have capped blaster HP 1606) -- credit Wavicle.

  8. Ultimus do you think this could be done with any secondary besides /Traps?

    For example, Bots/FF wouldn't seem to have any way to slow AV regen or debuff them (outside of the bots powers themselves).

    Bots/Dark maybe?

    What about Thugs/Dark?

    Or Bots/poison?
  9. What level are you when fighting these AVs -- e.g., in the pics they show as lvl 40 ... are you also lvl 40 or what?

    Also, what is your mission difficulty setting during the fights?

  11. Great guide, fun to read, perfect on info.

    Inspired me to make an Archery/NRG -- and it's a very fun, active toon to play. Now 42 and largely kitted out with common IOs and a few specials.

    A few things:

    1) RoA is amazing and up a ton. I also got the comment on a team (as you mention) to stop killing everything and leave some for the other guys That said, it doesn't do OMGBBQ dmg - it's more like a bone-smasher to everything in its radius. BU+AIM+TF still puts way more hurt on a single target.

    2) ROA + Explosive + Fistful = Joygasm.

    3) I'm a little bummed at archery's damage overall. HeroStats doesn't track RoA but it does on everything else. The archery attacks are doing less dmg than my Plant/Fire dom does under domination and Firey Embrace - his Blaze hits for 220+ and tics, same (around) for Incincerate. Blazing arrow is checking in at more like 203 and the other attacks less. I feel my DB/WP scrappr does more dmg. From everything I read I thought they had really boosted blaster dmg but it doesn't feel uber yet -- my Stone Melee / Elec brute certainly does more.

    4) lethal resisant mobs suck - robots of all kinds I'm looking at you!
  12. Take grounded earlier and don't take tremor until 40+ -- I took it after getting Ball Lighting. It's too weak on its own as an AOE. I'd drop resuscitate.
  13. I like your guides. I think you may want to also consider that the great thing about /FF is that you can get ~ 40% def to ranged attacks by slotting Red Fortune sets in your shields and combat jumping, topped off with a Trap of The Hunter Set in the Mu pool AOE immob. 40% ranged def is nice.
  14. Having played too many SS/* Brute (SS/Stone, SS/ELA) I just cannot deal with the rage crash any more . . . I find Stone Melee to give equal or better mitigation than SS, with better burst damage (vs. sustained DPS of Rage), and Seismic Smash &gt; KO ... but it does lack the Superman feel of SS..... cool guide.

  16. I always just end up running door mish. Trying to find PuGs is an exercise in frustration, especially with all the standing around while "lfm" or people going AFK. You know what, if you take 10 minutes to get to the friggin mission, I *am* starting without you. Deal with it. Arg. I had a group tell me to stop whining about them being slow the other day, so I quit. I just don't need the headache. Plus in COH the other challenge to doing story arcs is so much time is lost in travel -- at least in COV they tried a little harder to keep arc mish in the same or nearby zones.
  17. Great guide. By not taking out all the pylons before attacking hami, do you leave them all in stasis or something? Every team I have been on has taken out all the pylons and rikti first, and then gotten completely, repeatedly pwned trying to kill the mitos and hami -- it takes forever. So if you leave all the pylons standing do hami and the mitos not attack?

    also you fully underestimate FA's dismal performance against the post-40 game -- end drains, toxic damage, psi damage . . . it underperforms (and healing flames doesn't help when you've had your endo sucked dry by SpecOps or Malta)...

    anything else is gravy ( /cold, /sonic corrs; others like poison MM)
