Not one mention of Sonic/Fire?

It is NOT a baseball bat and the swings are closer to a golf swing which you can practice and not hit all day. I have to suspend martial accuracy when playing Titan weapons as the strikes with large weapons are swung with the body and not the arms. The arms add the extra crack of the strike at the end but used correctly a large weapon does not cause the spin around from a miss and in fact the miss is often used as a feint to move the opponents guard.
In the mechanics of this game I have to assume that all the users are self taught weapons users and just muscle everything rather than float and let momentum and gravity do all the hard work for you.
I just taught a class this summer on "soft" polearm fighting in which the given was you are a woman or small framed man fighting against a much larger opponent. In this case they were quite surprised at the number of techniques that a smaller person could use to completely overwhelm a larger person. It is quite fun to see a slight 110 pound lady fighter able to counter and reverse a 250+ man -
For a tanker this is what I personally would like to see for the end game content:
I would like an option similar to Domination where as I take heavy damage I can click the power call it "Rampart." Rampart drops my damage output by 25% but adds a further reduction to the incoming damage and a resistance to debuffs by the same amount. This would be a power that behaves exactly like domination. The same cooldown and build up except it is accomplished by number of Attacks made on you.
The attacks don't have to get through just be made against you. The goal is to absorb the alpha and it makes sense that if you are working to survive you may not be paying as much attention to your attacks and so the damage drops while you try to live.
I want the player to have control and not have it automatic - if I have Ice shields and Forcefields on my team - I may not need the boost. But if I am a fully kitted out Fire Tank with a sonic defender on my team - I could definately use the Rampart power. I don't need more resistance but the Defense and debuff boost would really help.
Then your tank really benefits from those wonderful IO's as they can now get a Debuff resistance as well - tanks would have an OMG power for when it all goes horribly wrong. -

If you run the Trial tied to that aspect you get a guaranteed path to get the Aspect in the fastest manner. If you run other trials you get the exact system in place now.

I have to say I felt sorry for Titan weapons people yesterday.
I was on my Sonic/Ice blaster and almost everything they tried to attack was already dead before they could hit it.
This is going to be a real problem. The damage needs to hit BEFORE the animation finishes or they are never going to get a kill in a large team. I stopped attacking sometimes so they could get a kill. -
Invention and heroics.
I can look at the powers certain characters have and imagine the synergy. I can then twist this into a theme and create a new life.
I was in a trial the other day and had been trying to be the good team player, we group wiped 3 times and still no closer to winning. I then filled up with 3 greens, 10 purples and the rest oranges, entered and popped the entire lot and went hog wild destroying everything. The team was stunned and I explained I was tired of them being in my way.
Heroics. -
I explained how to fix it so that everyone wants to run all of the trials.
You attach a certain Aspect of the Incarnate to each trial. If you require 8 salvage parts to get say Lore - then running that Aspect trial will absolutely guarantee you fill it in 8 runs.
If you want to run OTHER trials to fill that Aspect you get random rolls.
Then people will WANT TO RUN ALL OF THE TRIALS. I personally have no desire to ever run a trial. -

At low levels (pre-Sirens)
1. approach a group - use Howl to lower resistance and immediately Shockwave. With Chilling embrace on Combat jump over the group (which slows them all and -damage for good measure).
2. Keep alternating with Howl and Shockwave and immobilize your Lt or Boss target anchor with Chillblain and smack him with Shout as well once in a while.
This will let you shred any incoming foes and minions that near are slowed by Chilling Embrace and I use Scream on them.
At higher levels
1. Siren Song - it is a sleep with DAMAGE!
2. Drop Ice Patch under the sleeping foes also chilling them with your Embrace
3. Frozen Touch the boss after you Chillblain and it will freeze almost any boss
4. Frozen Aura - More sleep
5. Shockwave
6. Howl
7. Siren's again if any are left and freeze that boss again.
You can in utter and complete safety wipe out nearly any foes within a very short time and if any get near you Shiver, Chilling Embrace and Ice Patch keep them away from you.
In fact you have zero reason to even take any Melee powers except Frozen Touch, Ice Patch and Chilling Embrace.
You have it - the Tank Mage ranged blaster. -

I came up with Fire/Psi. Probably not a shock to many of you. In fact a few of you have throw it out to me before, of course. I'll have 4 big range AoE attacks I can spam before even hitting epics. Fireball, Fire Breath, Rain of Fire, and Psychic Scream. I really want to avoid close contact for the most part. However, with 4 years experience, I know when its safe to drop in for a free leech with Drain Psyche. I will get Psychic Shockwave and concentration, of course. I will start looking at epics or patrons next. Ranged AoE is what I am looking for. Not sure how much I will throw at the build, if anything besides SOs. Just gonna play test it for a couple weeks, sorta relaxed. (I am currently endlesssly iTrialing my new main) This will be the off hand project.
Now I just need a concept. (I always build backwards) Demon/supernatural seems the natural here. Going to do a little research on-line for ideas.
Sonic/Ice
You have 2 sleeps that do stack and one sleep does damage as it lands. You have a mass knockback cone. I used to use superspeed, sleep them with the sonic sleep to lower resistance, knock them back further lowering the resistance, sleep them again and repeat as necessary using the single hit attacks on the bosses. I could in complete safety solo at +1 x 8 with boses - because the bosses were sleeping too!
You also have Ice patch. -
Spines/Electric or Spines/WP are very good.
Something else you may not have considered is an Ice/Ice dom or even a Plant/Thorns dom.
Both of these have you lock everything down and slaughter them at your ease. -

Solo an Ice tank will not in any way shape or form out perform a Fire/Dark corruptor. Death is the best debuff. -

Seriously you can easily out tank a fire tank on a fire/dark corr. I have tanked entire TF's on mine. You get Fireball, Breath of Fire and the loving goodness of Rain of fire with Tar Patch. -
I am sorry but shoving pigs (porcs) into your powers should cause then to behave erratically.

Since I have done bojitsu for 37 years, SCA polearm fighting for 22 year - I am very happy to see staff fighting in the game

I have been using the 11.4's on a 6870 with issues what ever.
In fact it runs so smooth I won't update unless a feature is required. -

Wow, what a completely different viewpoint 2 people can have.
I feel that my Ice/Storm controller is the most dominant force in the game. I can with ease handle 2 - eight man groups and in fact can in a pinch lockdown 3 or 4 for a short time.
Can I defeat them? Not for a very long time - but I can CONTROL them, indefinately.
Add even a single damage doer and we can cruise through with ease at +2 x 8. I understand Ice/Gravity is for control and they do it very well. The others do more damge - that is a given but they can't completely remove a threat as easily. -
I already have my name reserved for a Dark/Kinetic controller - Night Moves.
The flash of magical combat between the Banished Pantheon Shaman and the Tsoo Sorcerer lights the fog shrouded dark. The power of Mot summoned to battle the oriental Dragon.
Out of the gloom the two are locked in a final mortal combat, one neither can survive and as the elements howled and the lightning danced across the sky. In the quiet haunted streets one ghost is caught, shackled by the wild magic and the life force is ripped from the mages into the spirit caught and held by the explosion.
Silence again as the storms cease and the stench of dark magic fades. In the streets filled with the echo of the dead, the Night Moves. -
Ask the Devs a straight forward question:
Can you make or have you discussed making an AE style designer for PVP. Where we can make maps, balance powers and basically create PLAYER PvP for ourselves?
Then WE the players can create, balance and expand it far faster than the devs ever could. I used to make maps for Halflife and Soldier of Fortune 2 and to be able to make maps, assign power balance and create Capture the Flag, escort, briefcase style play.
You could make buffable/controllable walls, boxes and other objects where defenders\controllers can stop you from entering by shielding a wall, you can control or mez an object so it stops or switches who its shooting at.
You know I have visions of a PvP game completely different from where this has been going. I see the possibilities and would love to help build it. You say that the game isn't balanced for PvP? I tell you - it is being done wrong. You say lol at defenders? What if that defender is behind the wall you are trying to breakdown to get the case/Flag or whatever and is healing it? Shielding it? What if that squishie blaster is wasting your defenses? The idea of PvP being just 2 players squaring off is so very far from what it could be that I am astounded. From day One of the AE I wanted it for PvP. It is the danger room, the way for iron to sharpen iron and it is completely neglected because you don't know where to go.
I am telling you we the players who think outside the box, who have ideas on how to twist gameplay - can make and balance PvP far faster and better than you can imagine. Remember Counterstrike was built by a PLAYER. -
I want a simple LFT button right next to the current Find members button.
You click that set the minimum level you are looking for and it drops you automagically into a team with open slots marked to accept join in progress allowed.
It could be VERY simple to create the GUI -

It was a Pool C (?) recipe in 10-15 minutes, much like the Eden trial.
Sadly, both of these are unplayed since the (justifiable) change.
The trial should be reset to give XP for the Krackens and I would just lower it some with a bonus at the end for mission completion. It is the issue of getting no reward for a failure - sound like one of the new trial issues?
I don't agree the change was justified. You took fun and fast paced Content and turned it into a plod. The plod is not fun and so rightfully and justifiable isn't played. Eden Trial, Sewer Trial, Respect Trial all once fun and now a plod. -
The silly thing is the nerf was completely wasted. You Nerf content and then it is never played and so it is no longer content.
The old sewer trial was FUN.
The new and improved Abandoned Sewer trial is so much fun - no one plays it. Sound like some of the new content? The old Reactor trial that was fun and a challenge that now spawns even level or even -2 foes and is a boring wait for the time to run out?
I recall my most fun experience of all time in that trial. We got to the reactor and it was already spawning Freaks. We were barely defeating the waves before the next spawned. It got down to everyone on the team was wiped except for 2 fire tanks. The other tank was dying faster than I was he didn't have Weave and the rest of the team was passing purples, oranges and greens to us and we slowly died.
Everyone was dead but me as the last waves hit. I held my ground healing the reactor with my last gasp and the last Freak tank died as I did at the same time. We won the trial and everyone was screaming and shouting we had done it!
Now you are bored to tears for 20 minutes. -
Since they "improved" the trial no one does it now.
It used to be the way to get from 35-40. With that being a nice way to run it 4 times and you are 40 pretty much.
The old way if you spammed enough Holds - you could hold the Hydra and defeat him. Now with faster recharge time on the healing towers, no XP on the Krackens and no way to hold the instant death Hydra head - no one bothers and in fact it shows as you had no idea that a computer was even down there.
Believe it or not we tried it the other night and I still have the way down memorized and haven't tried it in 2+ years! This was another case of Nerf Rage. The Devs said my god they are having fun! Stop that immediately! So now the "content" sits unused.
All the wonderful content isn't really content if players no longer use it.
