Why is it that taunt aura's do not accept Taunt sets?

They used to, but a number of porcs worked...oddly...in them. For instance, some would damage or stun the user of the power in addition to the targets.

That's a shame to lose out on build options because the procs were bugged.

It IS a shame. I would love to be able to use the proc from Triumphant Insult to turn any taunt aura into a low rent version of Oppressive Gloom.

For me...I don't care for the procs...I care for the set bonuses I'm missing out on.

Good point, but I don't know that the taunt sets would be the best choice from most of the auras because they provide zero end reduction. I just wish I had enough slots to put more than the default one in Taunt. I'd love to 6 slot Perfect Zinger on all my Tanks and Brutes.

I had asked Castle about that at one time. I was told that Triumphant Insult was the culprit. The proc lowered the stun protection of the toon that slotted it.

In typical dev style they made taunt sets not able to be slotted into taunt auras AND they turned off the proc in ALL taunt powers. The Triumphant proc does nothing except use up a slot to no advantage (unless your goal is the 3 slot set bonus)

That explains a lot. I had slotted the TI proc on a few toons but it never seemed to fire. It seemed like the only mobs being stunned were the ones I had just hit with Jab or Boxing. It didn't seem worth the investment so I switched to Perfect Zinger procs. Now I know why. It's a shame because I was really excited about putting a Stun proc in an AoE taunt power.

Slots are too valuable to be wasted on this which is why I never really bugged the devs much after they did this change. Besides I have never been in a situation in this MMO where mobs dont stick to the tank/brute like flies do to poo. Other games on the other hand I wonder why they even have tanks since they suck so badly.

I think you've missed the entire point of why one would want to slot Taunt Sets and not just Taunt Enhancements.

Also, iirc the stun is supposed to be mag 1 anyways, so even if it worked, you would rarely ever notice.



Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

I know this is off topic but it's vaguely related- Do you happen to know if the Absolute Amazement -tohit proc is still broken?

I miss the Perfect Zinger: Chance for +Psi Damage in my Taunt Aura...

Just have guys randomly spewing orange numbers out without me laying a finger on them. My presence being so damn offensive to people their minds couldn't handle it...

Have you ever seen an AEON tank? I wish my tank could draw all the enemies in the area or the room to the tank, and I mean literally pull them like the tank was a magnet and the critters were just moving by force, pull them to the point where he is completely surrounded by them.

Make all IO's available in Paragon Market! NCSoft, the chinese are making BIG money selling influence and other stuff in the game. Best way to stop them = make the paragon market a place to buy all IO's and perhaps other things as well.
