  1. Ok, I will say it - what is to stop gankers waiting until 2am on the very first day you get your item to Raid you?

    I am sorry but this idea seems rife with potential abuse and griefing. Perhaps I don't know of griefing protections?

    Seems to me that 2 SGs wait until you get the item attack enmass off hours and if the first one can't get it the second one does.

    Can 2 SGs attack you at once? If not I get an item of power, I have a second account alt join a sister SG and have the alt enter my base to "attack" - they are never attacked and I hold the item for 21 days. I guess I need to see more on this.
  2. Except in the Magic pool. Positron I have petitioned the stupid rescue 21 magicians mission EVERY SINGLE TIME I FIGHT IT.

    The mission description NEVER SAYS DEFEAT ALL. If the mission is DEFEAT ALL IT SHOULD SAY - DEFEAT ALL.

    I went thru late one night on my Emp/Elec defender for 3 stupid hours in this mission. I defeated all of the mobs holding the 21 magicians. Guess what? IT WAS DEFEAT ALL.

    Missions clues tab is mostly useless. It often does not tell you what to do.

    I see the Devs doing one thing whether it is purposeful or by accident:

    Creating TIMESINKS.

    1) Lowering overall damage with Issue 5, Issue 6 and ED but NOT lowering Mob hit points.

    2) Buffing AVs that were not HARD to fight but SLOW to fight and making them even SLOWER.

    3) Making any FAST XP opportunities disappear. Sewer Trial, Giant Monsters and hell even Hydras in Perez had their XP lowered because players used to go 7-10 on the streets and 10-14 fighting Hydras and this was UNACCEPTABLE.

    4) Costumes - is their any larger Timesink in the game than costumes?

    5) Hamidon "Raid" - He doesn't Move, The Mitos don't move. It is fish in a barrel at its worst. It is a timesink. Hami-O's used to buff you to Uber levels - Nerfed down and all to "balance" a level 50 end game that DOES NOT EXIST. That was a YEAR AGO.

    This game has lost many of the creative people they added to write content. They just quit, why? Perhaps the "Vision" was to create Timesinks and not to creatively add Content.

    I hear Recluses Victory is fun - but what is it? A level 50 TIMESINK. You don't get better, faster, stronger = Timesink.
  4. You succeed to YOUR expectations.

    Look at the GM and AV change thread - your PLAYERS do not agree. You steal the FUN out of the game for Risk vs Reward mantra you Devs constantly spew.

    STOP balancing the game against the Uber builds and balance it for the CASUAL gamer. I was in a mission at level 21 with my controller where I had to tell the tank to stop leading and let me do it because he was repeatedly getting killed and required full time healing because his Fire tank did not know to take Tough.

    Yeah, how fun was it for him? It sucked having only the tank die 3 times and having my controller take over the tank job - in fact the tank could have turned his armor off after that because he no longer served his function.
  5. And a direct lie. The Stealth nerf went live yesterday.

    Funny how every time they want a nerf - think Regen and Burn they do it anyway. Just a few months after popular support made them say - thanks to you folks we listened and did not Nerf it - then they do so anyway.

    You guys really are a piece of work.
  6. Chariot I was in the same boat - I lost my father at the same time Issue 5 hit. I was very bitter on top of my grief that my escape from tension and pain was turned into hard damn work.

    I LIKED having players go Look at that guy!!! I liked going Look at that guy Myself. Now when you are generic AT 12045 it is just interchangable.

    Take the "old days" - if you were in trouble - you got a tank. A lot of trouble - you got a tank and 2 controllers. Want to go hunt monsters? You got a tank - 2 controllers - 2 scrappers a defender and 2 blasters. Now you take anything you want because if there is trouble - a tank is not more survivable with buffs than anyone else.

    No one hunts monsters any more.

    I also remembered back in the first week live of this game a similar example.

    We were in Perez Park and had accidently annoyed some clockwork +3 to us. I was a level 12 defender and had a level 8 tank sked to me. We were in an 8 man team and slowly inspite of my efforts our team fell.

    Finally we were left with the Tank and I. I could not spare any end to attack and set Heal other on auto to the tank. The Tesla Prince kept the Tank slowly going down and I used absorb pain until I was in the red numerous times. Our team was actively CHEERING for this Tank being played by a 14 year old girl in real life.

    She fought so hard and slowly was winning. I was in the red, she was in the red and the Boss was almost dead. I used absorb pain and died.

    The young Tank went crazy and fired every attack she had draining all her shields to off and destroying the Prince instants before she would have died. If it was possible she would have gotten and standing ovation. We all hooted and hollered even while we were dead because she was so incredibly strong and courageous.

    In real life she may never have been brave before, this day she was. She could have run away. She said NO I WILL NOT FAIL. To me these defining moments are a triumph of human spirit and power.

    This is what this game means to me in those few moments where you turn the tide. Weakening Heroes was to me, the worst option Cryptic could have taken.

    PvP the second worse when it is pointless and random as we have now.
  8. PvP (I hate it for CoX but) needs:

    Completely free zone - you come in and take your chances with no restraints.

    Capture the flag zone. It cycles like the old Dustbowl in Halflife TFC used to. You get to play defending team - then it cycles to attacking team next. It is timed and the fastest team - changes something on the Main CoH/CoV maps - Like Atlas globe is destroyed if Villains have won or something such as this.

    Make it a 12 man per side max to lessen lag.

    You could have multiple groups running it at once. This would actually make me want to try PvP. I imagine the old Dustbowl in Halflife and think of doing it with Heroes and grin. Of course TP doesn't work on the flag carrier

    This was an MMO "Light".

    Instead of the devs rejoicing they had found an ALTERNATIVE to the usual MMO grind, they copied it.

    They are clueless.
  10. No Statesman doesn't get it.

    This MMO has one thing - Combat.

    Only one thing matters to progress in the game - killing things faster. So all the Devs did by Issue 5, 6 and Global Nerf called ED was to increase the time it took you to kill mobs.

    This means it increases the time it takes to level - plain and simple. Then they reduce debt in missions forgetting some missions are kill XX bad guys that often causes debt as well.

    This game had many promises made - level 50 content in exchange for you Hamidon O. Where is it? Now we see Positron saying - remember those nerfed powers well a level 50 will be able to gain some of them back!

    So a nerf that created content? Content becomes getting powers back you lost by nerfing?

    I want to know:

    1) When are you going to actually add content to all of the deserted areas? Boomtown, Eden, Faultline, Creys, Rikti Crash Site, The Monster Islands (yes, people actually used to kill them).

    Adding Contacts, Stores and a Leveling NPC would do it.

    2) Where is the level 35-50 content? 2 years in and NOTHING. We heard with Issue 4 - its coming real soon so we made this 25-35 zone just like Striga so that you have tons of content where you don't need it.

    3) Where is the store and leveling NPC for Hollows? What a perfect time sink you built in this zone. Multiple deaths running past +7 mobs, 1.3+ mile runs to missions back and forth across the zone. Not having a store and a Level NPC is to extend time and adds nothing "fun" to the game. Do you have any idea how many people quit teams after they have to run back and level?

    4) PvP is a waste. No capture the Flag, Rescue, Protect type missions. All of these were promised as "soon" well this game is bleeding to death. It needs a freaking torniquet.

    This game has never had the devs and players seeing eye-to-eye. We did not play the game the way the devs thought we would. So what happened? The devs forced us to have "right fun" and not "wrong fun". If you don't think this game is swirling on its way to the flush of death look at how many are playing.

    CoH is a ghost town. Even after they lowered the level to give a yellow ball on server load - only 2 servers EVER hit yellow - Virtue and Freedom. CoV does not seem fun to many players, why? Same powers as many heroes but, weaker.

    So again Statesman does NOT get it.
  11. There was a "fix" to all of the PvP issues - Put them all on a separate server PvP only and let you choose ANY powers you wish.

    Let everyone start at 50 and select ANY and ALL powers they wish.

    Bang balance issue OVER. This also allows us a PvE not affected by constant nerfing to achieve PvP balance.
  12. Here is the deal:

    Statesman came into the Tanker forum after Issue 2 and APOLOGIZED for ignoring Tankers.

    Issue 3 came and a few items were fixed like movement while in unstoppable and Tanks were OVER buffed in ways that we did not ask for.

    Tanks gave VERY good ways to improve us without being overpowered and now we got ignored again.

    Next came the Issues 4, 5, 6 and ED which in many ways not only unwound all the Buffs from Issue 3 they put us lower than Issue 2 in damage and defense.

    So many of the older tanks have a history of what happens in the gameplay when the entire game is about damage and you do less than anyone else and if you have defenders and control - you don't need tanks.

    What happens is a slow bleed to other ATs.

    Tanks are common early on but by the time you get to the 20's they are much less so. Why? Boredom. Damage is low and they level slow once out of the teens.

    Tanks haven't been ignored, they have had the entire concept and gameplay switch from under them. They took MANY of the Tank suggestions and put them in Brutes. This makes tanks angry.

    It is true that Tanks are not wanted as they are.

    Every single change in the AT has made them LESS COMICBOOKY to use Zeus' own words.

    Damage? Tanks do damage? Muhahahahahah!

    Try playing next to a Claws/Dark scrapper. Thats damage.

    Just pull the damn trigger and make Tanks into Brutes.

    I mean 3 useless powers aren't enough to kill them yet so they need 4.
  15. Guys I have to say all we will accomplish complaining tanks have no place now:

    1. They will lower defender buffs
    2. They will lower Controller buffs
    3. They will lower scrapper caps

    If defenders saying they had no place in a team lead to Issue 4, Issue 5, Issue 6 and ED nerfs what makes you think he will BUFF Tanks?

    Remember if they could fix something with 1 solution they will up with 3.

    I was fighting even cons with an Ice/Energy blaster and missed 21 times in a row landed one and then missed 17 in a row.

    I did not demo record it but I did start counting when I missed 6 in a row.

    1. SR gets a SMALL boost when nearly dead
    2. Debt cap cut in half! Because you will die more.
    3. End usage reduced!

    And not one damn thing else.

    He is distracting you with minor crap buffs and stealing more than 40% from you and you THANK HIM??????

    He is the master of damage control and DO NOT let him off the hook. Make him explain how a 40% loss of powers is not a POWER NERF?

    Statesman you are NOT escaping this one. This is garbage.

    I will tell you whats next Suppression is dropped. Why? Because it will make you all say thanks Statesman you listened!

    He has had someone scour the boards to give you CRAP to appease you. That is what this is a SNOWJOB.

    Let a professional teach you and try again 2 out of 10.

    I cancelled for several months - was asked to return by RL friends - did so and have cancelled billing again. You could open your mouth and ask or realize that some players after 18 months may be sick and tired of forced respeccing due to dev incompetance.

    Explain please to me how it is anything but incompetance to not have even 1 single AT properly balanced after 18 months?

    Please enlighten me? 18 months and complete and utter changing of the game yet again for the second time in 2 months and you feel the game is in good hands?

    Explain to me how they have balanced other games? Explain how we said they do not play our game and now we find out AGAIN they play a version that is even further nerfed and balanced since MARCH. Ask a Regen scrapper how perma-nerf feels.

    If I were acting as a lawyer to prosecute based on these remarks:

    1. Enhancement slots are only found in powers

    2. Enhancement slots ONLY change powers

    3. Changing Enhancement effectiveness for good or ill = Changing the powers by that same amount.

    4. Diversifying being forced is like bussing in the inner cities. It solves nothing and good students will still stay smart as smart players will still be better than poor ones.

    This diversifying is a total clueless argument by the Devs and notice how much they listened to all of your testing - NOT ONE BIT.

    The interaction with the Devs was political and not in good faith. We have a double nerf and this time no new "content" to soften it.

    Statesman you are a clueless amatuer in charge of a game for the first time. The cancellations this time WILL make a difference. I am waiting for your next clueless post that will ignore your players and ask them when they bought all of their enhancements why didn't they buy some they don't need or want?

    I mean the players should never be able to decide if they like more damage and more endurance drain versus less damage and less endurance drain - You Statesman CAN ENLIGHTEN US!

    Just please make one build only possible for each character and save us all of the embarrassment of playing the non-Statesman way.

    Or you could do what was explained to you prior to Issue 1:

    Add Accuracy a requirement to Burn
    Make it unaffected by Recharge or Hasten

    Or you could do something entirely backwards and render the defining power of an AT unusable.

    Blasters also have Burn. Are they overpowered?

    When was this epiphany decided? How does it stick with your "Vision" in Issue 3?

    Based upon the great feedback on these forums, as well as conversations with Tankers in and out of the game, I felt that we needed to revisit some old issues and try some new solutions. The great thing about MMP's is that they can grow and evolve. Even better, the community can give us both qualititative (opinions) and quantitative (data) information.

    1. By and large, the change to Tankers' Taunt is viewed positively. Instead of a single target Taunt, Tankers will have a Provoke in their Secondary Power Sets. Plus, the mob targeted will be autohit (just like Taunt). So you can pretty much guarantee that'll be done soon. But, as many have said, it's not enough. So that's why Geko and I talked at length.

    2. Tankers damage is way out of whack compared to Scrappers' Resistance. Previously, I stated that Scrappers couldn't reach the Resistance cap. And they can't - UNLESS they resort to the Power Pool. That was my error. A correctly built Scrapper (with a lot of Enhancement slots) CAN reach the 90% cap. But a Tanker can NEVER do the same amount of damage as a Scrapper. This needs to be rectified. A Tanker should be as good at Resistance as a Scrapper is at Damage.

    3. Some people don't mind the traditional role of a Tanker as a meat shield, other do. Most importantly, however, is that people seemed not to like to be a "provoke bot". It appeared that a Tanker's role was to sit there, take damage, and occasionally hit Provoke. A Tanker's attacks were nice, but pretty much an afterthought in the grand scheme of things. Well, that's not much fun after all. Provoke is fine; but the Tanker's attacks should be MORE important when combat gets started in holding aggro than shouting at various mobs.

    4. The Burn change is a little too inconsistent with the role of a Tanker. A Tanker wants to keep aggro, not chase them away. Though it makes sense in terms of AI (bad guys fleeing damage), the power becomes not very useful for the Tanker. We'll probably be making a change to that soon.

    In other words, I've said in the past that we weren't going to look at damage and that we weren't going to add any aggro to Tanker attacks. Well, I think I need to put my thinking cap on and come up with some solutions to the points above. I can't thank all the Tankers enough for sharing their thoughts & ideas.

    Now - the change to Burn can happen relatively quickly - but the other stuff needs internal testing. I don't want to rush something out over the holidays. That testing will be a priority post Thanksgiving - so I'll keep you posted next week on the status.

    We say make better stronger mobs, buff Ice tanks to make them better and they nerf every mob type.

    All I can say is you want all of us to play a different game than City of Heroes. The new game is not even remotely like the old one other than in name.

    I again ask - WHAT IS YOUR VISION.
    If you are going to force 3 minions = 1 hero in spite of level gains and skill increases this game will become a complete grind fest.

    I am not going to flame or incite arguement I am going to offer you a suggestion to provoke thought.

    If racial identity, sexual orientation, religion goes as far as stop enjoyment in entertainment - is it healthy?

    How many of the 3 Stooges were Cherokees? I am Cherokee so should I not enjoy classic humor and entertainment because none of them were?

    I watch and thoroughly enjoy Westerns (even tho' they villify my ancestors) because they are a slice of life from a bygone simple time.

    In the early 1970's a Chief alive as a boy in Geronimo's time said this - "All of nature is about competition and selection. We fought to take and hold our lands from other tribes. The Europeans coming to America did nothing new and nothing outside of Human nature or natural selection. The strong survive, the loser in history is forced to adapt."

    This is incredible insight from a man that saw everything in his life change. We all love to hold the present without change - look at how upset we get to the game changes.

    However change is the only constant in life.

    I would say if your enjoyment of entertainment has been reduced because you can't see past the sex, color, religion or sexuality of the characters to the actual story being told - you have to question your own need to change.

    Put this in its place as entertainment not social comment.
