I don;t see the likes like LR appearing there. They have better things to do then robbing banks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, he doesn't - Recluse will very occasionally spawn on a bank raid in Peregrine Island if you have a big enough team.

Those towers cost money, you know. But, still, you'd think he'd have people for that sort of thing...
  2. Title: Vernon von Grun's Extraordinary Extradimensional Excursions
    ID:115174
    Suggested Level Range: 45 - 50, villain
Description: Vernon von Grun is placed in charge of Arachnos' version of Portal Corps...
Link to City of Guides entry: City of Guides entry

Contains three AVs (although only one of them is a mission objective) and an EB. I've soloed it on an AR/Dev Blaster and a BD/FA Brute, though.

It's supposed to be humorous, but might not appeal to all.
  3. Having recently redesigned my base, there were a few things I'd like to be able to do, but couldn't. In no particular order, this is a list of things that I'd like to be able to use:

Partition Walls, with and without doorways. Since I13, practically every base I've seen has a bodged together version of this anyway, but it would be nice to have one that looked good from both sides and didn't take half an hour of careful desk stacking to create (not to mention the further irritation when you discover that lone desk you thought had been lost within a wall turns up embedded halfway up your carefully constructed structure, making it necessary to dismantle it to get it out, or the last bit's total refusal to fit into the gap...).

Tool box, open and closed. The Workshop doesn't look right without tools about.

    Tool rack, wall mounted.

Drink Vending Machine. Most office maps have one of these somewhere...

    Fridge

Chest Freezer. Would also fit in medbays and laboratories as well as a kitchen type area.

    Microwave Oven

    Pool Table

    Dart Board

    Slot Machine

    Basketball Hoops

A 'sportsfield' type floor tile, similar to the tiled floor one.

    Tennis court net

    Badminton net

    Volley ball net

    Wooden planks floor tile.

Dancefloor floor tile like in Pocket D. Lots of bases have a disco, for some reason...

    Disco Lights

    Various sized mirrorballs

Booze-type bottles and cans. A lot of bases have bars, too, but all seem to stock what appears to be blood-plasma.

    A posh decanter.

A proper bed. All right, I can see why proper beds aren't available, but the ones with all the straps and suspicious stains all over them seem a lot worse to me...

    Gym equipment

Firing range targets, like some of the Arachnos Bases have.

Brass plaques, to go next to the vet rewards and the likes. The arcane book podium just doesn't cut it.

    Hatstand

Signs, preferably customisable but generic ones would do.

Corridor and hallways. You can make these with the two square workshops and four square control rooms, but cheaper decorative ones would be nice.

Wall mounted keypads, like the one on the Personal Storage Vault.

Cardboard boxes, single open, single closed, small stack, small untidy stack, and so on. Every workplace on earth has a stock of such cardboard boxes somewhere...

Council computers - particularly the one with the circular 'air traffic controller' screen. I like that one...

    CCT Cameras.

    Grandfather clock.

Those red telephone boxes they have in Warburg.

Emblem wall plaques, with the SG logo, red cross, that snake medical thingy, and so on.

Suit of armour, like the ones in the Midnighters base.

The Juggle Electricity emote from the Magic Pack should be colored red when used by a Villain.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ought to be red lightning for the villainous lightning costume change emote, too...
  5. [ QUOTE ]
    A wizard did it

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, it was probably someone like Vernon von Grun or Doctor Aeon messing around with some sort of time travel related mad science accidentally erasing the Fifth Column from history. The Council are just hasty replacements based on What He Could Remember At The Moment (the best type or research, I've found).

Either that, or it's all a Nemesis Plot TM.

    [ QUOTE ]
Reichsman is the leader of the Axis Amerika Korps, not the 5th so I doubt they would be loyal to him.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Reichsman was the leader of the 5th Column when it fragmented.

Axis America is from an alternate Earth so the leaders in that are alternative versions of their counterparts. Some have taken different paths - others have progressed and their groups may have evolved.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Axis America universe is presumably a world where the Fifth Column invasion repelled by Atlas in 1941 was successful - they're what the Fifth Column would eventually evolve into. The Reichsman is definitely an alternative version of Statesman, not any of the 'Primary' CoX universe Fifth Column or Council leadership.

Actually, I assume that the whole Fifth Column was originally intended to be an American fascist movement that was attempting to seize power, rather than some sort of German invasion - the name, at least, would make some sort of sense then.

The more that they attempt to fix it, the less sense it makes! What exactly is the Council Empire? How comes the Fifth Column are now Italian*, who were by far the least enthusiastic and least well equipped Axis Power**?

*Frankly, I'm hoping that the new Fifth will come equipped with comedy accents...

**Those vampires and werewolves aren't exactly Italian, either - Axis Powers Hungary and Romania would both fit an awful lot better...
  7. No, that one's the real you.

Your toon is clearly a Nemesis duplicate...
  8. I have exactly the same problem with the Shadow Ministry base - extremely annoying! It was, unfortunately, quite a large base with several million invested in it. Bug reported and petitioned, no response beyond an automated one so far.
  9. You need to continue to do the Day Job even after you've got the accolade in order to charge up the power - log off in a Hospital; Vitalize will charge up at the rate of one use per 12 hours (max 20 uses) and Revive Ally charges up at the rate of one use every 18 hours (max 15).

However, you won't be able to work towards another Day Job badge while you're charging up powers, unless you find one of the rare places that count towards two day jobs at once.

So, is there any pictures of Atlas, Talos or M1? Only seen statues of them. Some action pictures of Atlas be cool, like from his last battle. Thanks. Had a dull moment

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd like to be able to access historical battles like Brass Monday, the Fifth Column attack on Paragon and maybe the first Rikti Assault on Eden in some sort of Oroborous 'Event Zone', sort of like what happens in Recluse's Victory.

It could all be a Nemesis plot!

I do think flippers hurt the price. It's like price gouging that we felt with the gas a year or 2 ago. There's limited supply so someone with enough inf CAN determine the prices. I go buy the 1 available and resell. I can even buy that 1 and resell it again with ANOTHER set price. Now, the AVERAGE price continues to rise because people see what they have been sold at.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh - this talk of 'oil gouging' makes me worried - the price and supply level of oil has remained pretty much stable, it was just the dollar that was more-or-less worthless.

Frankly, I find it rather horrifying that the States has become so insular that the only indicator that Average Joe Yankie had that their currency was becoming a bad joke was dismissed with a conspiracy theory about how OPEC was trying to cash in at American expense.

Little bit of politics, there, yes indeed...
  13. Igor_Blimey

    taskforces

    [ QUOTE ]
Also, just about anyone could probably solo SSTF1 if they have the patience for it, for example. Lack of AVs and all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No you can't - there's possibly as many as fifty mishes (it certainly felt like that) in that one where you have to click four glowies simultaneously.
  14. Igor_Blimey

    Boss bugs?

I was on an Invincible Manticore TF with my scrapper yesterday and that consisted almost entirely of Paragon Protectors, so bosses will spawn in large amounts sometimes.
  15. Igor_Blimey

    Merit bubble?

If you're just wanting to convert your merits into cash, you're far better off going for the Trial Random Recipe roll (pool D) for 30 merits, as it only has nine drops (seven at level 50), most of which tend to go for a lot (20 million plus in the case of Numina's Convalescence) rather than the more risky Pool C (which seems to be biased towards dropping Trap of the Hunter and Pacing of the Turtle).
  16. [ QUOTE ]
The easiest way to hunt carnies is to keep clearing the two ships (including non-carnies). Every time a spawn is completly cleared it is quickly replaced.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Got to wonder what's going on in those two ships, considering that the Carnival, Malta, Crey and Nemesis all seem to want them.

Judging by the amount of times that you see Crey Infiltrators duking it out with Carnie Harlequins while Strongmen and Tanks look on cheering, I reckon it's some kind of illicit oil wrestling ring or something.

In fact, that's probably why Harvey Maylor wants you to go out and get so many pictures of Carnies! 'Needs them for an article' my behind...
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Almost as annoying at the street hunt for 65 carnies in PI I got earlier in the week. After nearly half an hour in which I hadn't even got a third of the way through it I just abandoned the mission.

Hint: Devs, if we need to find a large number of something, please put a decent number there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They only come out at night - you'd think Harvey Maylor or Madeline Casey would at least mention that considering the amount of hunts they send you on...

They can most often be found on the two ships in the docks to the east (I think) of the big statue of Nimbus.
  18. I managed to get my Corruptor from level 42 to 50 with a couple of great teams - although I did end up doing the final two Scirocco arcs twice without managing to finish my Ghost Widow patron arc. Lost count of the times I had to bash up Doctor Aeon, fought Positron and Hequat twice as well as Valkyrie and an army of Mu and Longbow.

Plus I managed to trample that insignificant arachnid Recluse underfoot on two separate occasions. He was worth over a million XP the second time, too.

By the way, their leader sits around in Atlas Park and does nothing. Not very heroic, is it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

....yeah, because, Back Street Brawler, Synapse, Positron, et al are all sooooo busy out there, aren't they.

And isn't that Statesman himself stood on a boat in IP.......doing nothing??

    [/ QUOTE ]

You must have rescued States from Tyrant right? The guy's a total n00b, its for the best he sits there and does nothing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah - just look at the way he smashed the place up during the first Rikti invasion

    [/ QUOTE ]

I reckon he's only interested in PvP myself. It's a wonder that RV isn't full of broadcasts along the lines of 'lolz!!! i pwned two teems of villians solo!!!!!! STATESMAN ROOLZ!!!!!!'.

Anyway, I'm not convinced that the Praetorean universe is that Evil anyway, as none of them have either a goatee beard or an eyepatch, which are, of course, the sure signs of an Evil Alternative Universe. It's the Law.

And those dimensional explorers were right slackers - OK, they discovered the Evil Universe and the Nazi Universe, but where's the Universe Where Rome Never Fell? Eh? Honestly, getting killed by an Evil Super Nazi before you've finished collecting the set is a definite sign of a lack of professionalism.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
So: change the name on the badges and bring em back.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't see how it can be classed as a bug when it's already got a different name to the Villain badge...
  21. Igor_Blimey

    no blinds

    [ QUOTE ]
It takes all of 2 seconds to click the no button and seeing as you can't invite when someone is inside a mission i'd love to know how that's ever been a problem for you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It can happen if you've been killed and gone to your base or the hospital - it can be particularly annoying for teleporters.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Can't think of an in-game example of a mutant alien off the top of my head.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hydra are mutants, if I recall. Although they're extra-dimensional rather than extra-terrestrial.
  23. That's the Arachnos Rising badge - part of it is Warburg so heroes can get a fifth of it.

You can also get a quarter of the Swashbuckler badge in Siren's Call if you really want.
  24. It only appears under Jackets, I think - although I've somehow managed to get it onto Igor's undamaged costume, but I've got no idea how I did it...

I suspect that it's either bugged or the Devs have decided to limit its use or otherwise everyone would have it.

    Coolest belt ever!
  25. It doesn't need fixing all that much - the major problem with it is that it's the first TF you can get, and its length means that it's almost impossible to finish without going into autoexemplar, and it's therefore the most likely to suffer from the 'hey, I'm not getting XP any more! I'm going!' problem.

Plus, although I can see why it's only got an EB rather than an AV at the end, he's not any different in appearance to a regular Eidlon so it feels like rather an anticlimax after such a long series of sometimes grueling tasks.

I'd suggest making a new TF, say four or five missions with an EB at the end, set entirely within one city zone, against someone weedy like the Skulls or the Hellions that could act as an 'introductory' TF for new players, and keeping Positron (maybe tweaking it a bit to add an AV or something) for more 'advanced' players.
