  1. it doesnt take much to soft cap a shield tank. Just take weave, add a stead fast, and a set for each just for good measure.
  2. my build is not complete yet... minus all the really expensive stuff.... Even without it, and at or near the cap for each area, it is really nice. It wont take me too much more to finish it off... but I have other areas I am devoting resources atm.

the investment is about the same, but the higher base hit points can make the difference, especially when built up with IO bonuses.

I agree completely. (Brutes are a different story though.)

The other part of this decision is... what characters will you do this for? It will take quite some time to Rare and Very Rare levels with this (heh, the writer in me hates that "very." Either something is rare, or it isn't!), so I'm probably going to have to pick one Tank, one Scrapper, and one Blaster for now. Probably my Earth/Storm Controller eventually as well.

I'm sure most (and the devs) would love to do this for all their characters, but it will take quite some time. Though maybe not... Castle said about 6-10 months ago that the Incarnate system would require some hard decisions from us.

    This...

which toons to play more and further sink time into. My rad/rad defender, fire/storm corruptor, and stone/fire tank will get the alpha. My fire/ice will just for badge purposes.

scrappers... my spines/invuln and fire/wp if I get around to it. But I dont see my self sinking the time for more. My ss/wp and ss/sd brutes are fun, but not my normal TF toons. Same with my sd/fire tank and ice/stone tank. Too many other toons to list out...
  7. Ice/Stone is awesome. Fault and Tremor work great. It is a good controlling tank. It can handle almost everything thrown at it. The STF is rough versus LR, but other than that, I did not have any issues. Once I got IO's... it was even better.

I dont play it hardly at all anymore, but I have a stone/fire, shield/fire, and Fire/Ice to use. But for certain TF's, such as LGTF, I use the ice/stone. (being able to use Seismic Smash twice in one build-up is really nice and destroys almost anything....)

Either way I think building for run speed is completely unnecessary if one plans to take TP on a stone tank, as there are way better bonuses to stack.

I think I "fixed" the recharge and added other nice bonuses, as well as being able to survive outside of Granite with the other armors quite nicely.

and once I19 comes around... any movement really wont be an issue. (I just respec'd into teleport... I used fly for getting around on two stone/fire tanks to 50.)

And the reason people bother is because they want too. Choice is a wonderful thing.

I revised the SF earlier and didnt see anything too wacky. Only the patrons, one by one.
there were some really great support toons there as well. which a fire tank needs.

I was also hoping that if we did fail on the no defeats requirement that the group stay the course because this will be the first LRSF attempt for that character. ran the 3rd Sara Moore of the day for my missing toon, after Witty's run.....

Today is the official Sara Moore TF day :P
I think our time was 2:02. Not a bad run at all I think.
  20. something else to look at is fire/stone. I have a fire/ice at 50 (since I4) and an ice/stone (50 since I6 or so and before defense scaling)

If you are looking at mitigation, then stone is better than ice. Ice patch only affects 5 enemies at a time. Fault and Tremor both affect 10, both have kd, and Fault has the stun. Seismic Smash is better than Frozen Touch, though it comes much later.

Ice does have better AoE, with FA and Frost. Stone has way better single target damage than ice could ever imagine. With Burn now, you get the AoE damage. Consume will help quite a bit on the end heavy attacks of stone.

my reinstall went well. I was lucky this time. I downloaded it from titan directly and reinstalled over the old file.

skyway north and skyway south... I dunno. Good question.
