Master of Cuda SF

Well this worked for the MOLRSF. So what the heck.

Is anyone in the know interested in running this SF on Wed or Thur of this week? 8pm East start time worked. Or I can adjust my schedule for it.

I do have a static team commitment on Wed at 11pm East time that I would like to keep though.

I will be bringing my Blaster again.

Thanks

Yesh! I can make it Thursday!

Dreameater, Mind/Psi (perma) dom

Notes on this from my experience: the anti-phase black scorpion temp is a must. Masterminds get it, as, I believe I recall,do defenders. It is not to be confused with the khan one. The blaster on a past run thought they got it, and didn't...they had the khan gun which is ineffectual. Note on the scorpion power: it does not unphase. Rather, it prevents phasing. it should be used before reichsman hits 75%, 50%, and 25% health.

Secondly, you want a stalker who knows their stuff to wipe the overpowering hordes.
Alternately/additionally the scirocco hold triggers the damage for the scirocco dust devils. Dominators/ (controllers??) get the hold, which can be followed up by the corruptor/ (Blaster??) dust devils to wipe those mobs fast.

For the slow and safe approach, you can fight the hordes in the tunnel, they do eventually run out, and he will return to await you in the big room.
Just note, after you defeat the seemingly endless first round and get to him to start actually damaging, he starts another round at some point.

To really be safe, you can start fighting the guy, run to the hall, leave him be in the room until the hordes run out, damage gim again, retreat again, wipe all those hordes, then take him. Just be warned, this takes a LONG time.

That's just from my five or so runs, I'm sure somebody with the badge can give some better insight or alternate strategies, and/or correct/clarify what I just said.

Thursday sounds good to me.

I'm not very experienced with the Cuda SF. I've done it twice before. I knwo the Kahn TF very well and if I recall there isn't a huge difference until you get to the end.

Khan TF is significantly easier. Throughout the TF.

Ok Thursday it is.

I have never run this one. I have run the Khan one several times. So I will need some direction. I will load up on tier 2 and 3 lucks.

Hopefully after I see how it works I can get my static team through it in the next few weeks. Being part of that LRSF yesterday gave me the confidence to know that my static team can get through that one we are even going to try it a master run for it.

Depends on the time Thursday. I ca come, but wont be back home till around 8PM central. Anytime after that I should be able to join.

Fire/ice tank

YMMV---IMO
Ice Ember

This is probably the most AT stringent SF or TF in the game.

Do we know what folks are bringing?

1 MindRipper: blaster
2 Seldom: Dom
3 Dollymistress: dom?
4 prvt slacker: (?)
5 spatch: (?)
6 Ice_Ember: Tank
7 (?)
8 (?)

Looks like we have somebody for the front line, and at least one combo for the hold> dust devil combo.

We still should have a mastermind/defender for the black scorpion temp.

From my experience, patience on ambushes in the final is key, trying to go without a death against both the crowds and reichsman is not a good idea. If ambushes show, leave reichsman and retreat, but do so watching yourself. Reichsman is tethered to the stage area, so he only chases so far.

Mind you, this is all from participating/observing previous Master runs on this. I've never organized one, so if someone has some hints they'd like share, please do!

As with yesterday's MoLRSF, I will be bringing my badger, a Peacebringer (see sig). Built for blasting, good dps, but squishy. Some squishy mitigation with Quantum Flight (phase), and Light Form (3-minute tank status). Though, didn't need either on yesterday's run.

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.

Whoa, wait one second. doesn't the halloween event go live tonight? If the devs pull one of their giant monster brawls, I may postpone. Those things are fun, and annual.

I guess we'll have to see if the devs make any event announcements.

I still think most people will be free for this by 8pm EST, seeing as the event goes live way before and it's just 5 runs of a single mission to get all the new badges.

Ice Ember would be ideal as the tank since he filled that role on the MoKTF I ran and had no trouble keeping Reischman at bay, even in invincible mode.

I revised the SF earlier and didnt see anything too wacky. Only the patrons, one by one.

there were some really great support toons there as well. which a fire tank needs.

Ice Ember said 8 central/9 EST, so should we aim for that?

1 MindRipper: blaster
2 Seldom: Dom
3 Dollymistress: dom(?)
4 prvt slacker: Corr
5 spatch: Kheld
6 Ice_Ember: Tank
7 (?)
8 (?)

Ideally, the last spots would be a mastermind/defender to anti-phase, and either a corr/blaster for a secondary hold>dust devil combo with the second dom, or a character who can use the fail safe devices to wipe some ambushes.

...this if the devs don't do their Giant monster event...such things only happen once a year, on certain evenings. But I can't recall if they did that the evening of the Halloween launch, or on the Friday. huh.

Yes, we should get on the same page regarding start time. I'm okay with either, but it sounds like Ice Ember is only available for 9:00 EST -- so that's what we should probably set. In any event, I can confirm my availability for both times.

Edit: Been meaning to mention this for awhile -- Ice Ember, I just -LOVE- your sig video. Bloody hilarious!

I'm ok with delaying the start by an hour to let Ice Ember join us.

No special crazy monster stuff happening expect whats normal for the halloween event. Getting the Halloween tips took me 3 hours with a 45 minutes break in there. The tip mission can be soloed. So hopefully Seldom will decide to still do this.

Yeah, I'm in. The last couple years they did the Recluse's victory AV's and GM's like crazy, but unless it's a suprise, no such luck this time around. Good thing barricuda has something fun for us to do!

Ok. 6:00 PST / 9:00 EST it is. Looking forward to it.

And, to echo MindRipper, the new Hallowe'en stuff is eminently solo-able. I got all six new badges inside of two hours this morning. The mission itself takes 3-4 minutes, at most. The only thing that takes time is ToT'ing to get the tip to drop. Remember, the holidy tip only drops if you're wearing a temporary costume drop.

Yup, a few notes...

when we get into the open air boomtown map vs. invincible reichsman, it goes in three stages:

Defeat der Unterfuhrer
Defeat Oberst Shaumstein
Beat Reichsman

The last of the Oberst Group should be mezzed, then all but the buffed tank should go. Tank can finish the last one or two, then high-tail it out when the objective turns to reichsman.

Defeat Reichsman:

The first part went quite smooth. No worries there.
The second part had a few complications, nothing big, but some stuff to keep in mind if we try again.

It's a gadget fight. The temps should be timed well, but used as much as possible. The Scirocco hold+Scirocco tornadoes worked pretty well. All members with these should use them when they can, coordinating. The phase happened twice, but that was it and he didn't recoup that much. Good on the MM. I know we were giving him a lot of pressure.

The ambushes are mind-numbing. They start out luaghable, but edge into crazy...over a loooong time. half hour would be a safe bet. It's tempting to get impatient but dividing up the team to fight the incoming and reichsman gives many possibilities for a messup.

Likewise, the fight vs. reichsman is just silly long. It's a fight vs. a giant bag of hit points. He hits kinda slow, but very hard. two hits in a row, though, and you're toast. Staying at furthest range is best and even though it's a long fight, making sure the front lines hold up with all the buffs/mitigation we can give is the way to come through. Even a tank can go down in two hits if he manages to stun, and chains his heavy hitter aoE with his heavy melee.

We need some coordination to our retreats. I did a bad job of making it clear where folks should go so that's my bad. Timing the retreats well, and making clear where to go should assuage this a bit.
It was a good round, first time for some, first master for others, and a rather randomly assembled group, I think we did well. If we built the team again, we might try getting some more debuffs, but I'm confident in saying that with knowledge of how to do this, we'll come through once everyone's familiar and comfortable with it.

Even if we weren't perfect, it was still a good run.
