I use it for IO set bonuses... Obliteration. Added recharge and melee& S/L defense.
I would hold off on using a respec yet and team with trollers to get use out it. -
Quote:And watched Twilight. While the appeal of the superpowers those vampires had is strong, my main problem with it is the same one I always have with those type of movies.
"I love you so much that I would rather watch you rot and die of old age than make you immortal."
That's pretty much enough to make me want to vomit. Doesn't sound much like love, does it?
I think of the series as a girls confusion between necrophilia and beastiality. -
GO into SG mode and change your colors is an option. I have black and red as well, just dont have a way to post screen shots.

Malaise pattern for bottoms (it was on baggy too) I have a costume from issue 3 I cannot change....
add Malaise pattern for tops, and other costume pieces.
If costume pieces clip badly with other pieces, then the person making the combination needs to do a better job. Not everything goes well together. The problem is certain pieces were removed because some people could not make adjustments and made combinations which clipped. -

Quote:I rarely solo on this one, but I run at +3 *8 for most things, depending on the villain group. (CoT, BP, Malta, Koa... not so much)Thank you for your thoughts, Ice_Ember. Having looked at your build, and having read your comments about Hasten, I have two questions for you: What difficulty setting do you play on, and what is your attack chain?
Attack chain... I am not a DPS/DPE min/maxer either. FS-Cremate-FSC on groups/GFS-Incenerate on Bosses/Lts. (I generally have a pocket blaster so I really dont care either)
On the rare occasion where I am slowed and something is not up I throw the kick in there for humor to hopefully have the proc fire to really send something flying. All I can do is laugh. -
Quote:Glad I was able to help.
Thanks a ton for the tips . I learned a lot about the different IO sets and bonuses! -
I wont say all because some just are not worth it... but the ones I enjoy playing alot will make the transition.

Quote:my fire/ice gimp will still be played... for badges.Tankers are really pretty much only needed now for Hamidon raids, STFs, and I guess soon LRSFs.
my stone/fire will still be my primary tank for almost everything.
my sd/fire will still be what i use for tickets in AE.
my ice/stone will still be in hibernation... replaced by the stone/fire. (I do use it on the LGTF though.)
my invuln/mace... will get moved to another server as soon as it is free again. probably virtue.... -
This is my current build on my fire/wp scrapper. I have posted it before, but it has been a while.
I am missing one IO in Char, other than that it is complete and it works very well. I do not have hasten and I dont think it is really beneficial for this particular build. If you have a complete attack chain, without any breaks anyways, what does Hasten add to a Willpower? Faster self rez... higher hitpoints, higher regeneration, and higher endurance recovery to go with the attack chain is important. I could have gotten even higher on the regen and recovery... but I wanted Char. (Jedi concept) If you want Hasten and that is your boat, go with it. It didnt fit for me.

Quote:I enjoy the heck out of my fire/storm corruptor. I also enjoyed my storm/sonic defender (on my now dectivated second account.) The corruptor is much more fun to play and more devastating, even without IO's. The defender could debuff more... but the added damage more than makes up for it on the corruptor. And... I really like the chaos I can create at times when needed. Or not needed, but just for fun, muhahahaha....Definitely comparable. It depends on the powersets, the build and your personal preference really. I personally don't notice the higher buff/debuff values, but I do notice the higher damage of a Corr. Especially on TFs/trials with AVs/GMs, which is a lot of endgame content.
The thing about +damage is, it works off your base damage. So while you can get a reasonable amount of +damage from sets, Assault with the Defender mod, it's nowhere near as beneficial as it is for a high base damage AT like a Scrapper, Blaster or Dominator.
Defenders are a lot better with Sonic Blast though. Their huge buff/debuff mod so their Sonic Blast can reliably stack 40-60% -resistance, whereas for Corrs it's about 30-45%.
For more general debuffing (Dark, Rad, Cold, Storm, etc) I'd rather have the Corr. Solo Defenders, depending on the build, can be stronger than solo Corrs for everything but big game hunting, where Scourge adds phenomenal amounts of damage.
The other advantage Defenders have is getting their buff/debuff stuff earlier. Fortitude and SB at 12 is pretty great.
My first corruptor was craptastic at best being AR/Traps... which is now moved on to virtue where being craptastic is accepted as a concept.
My next project is going to be a fire/earth dom, who will be in the gray area. Finding a team for it may be easier now, though I do really hate the low levels. (email is going to make it better now too)
My rad/rad def will move to the middle, but will not swap completely. It is a tank/mage... what more could I ask for?
I am still waiting on my beta invite... even with greater than 60 months I am left out.... Oh well, more time to get stuff ready. -
Quote:not crazy at all. Build up is great and worth it.Cool! Thanks a lot for the info, its all very helpful. Final question (for now!
)
Would I be crazy to drop Incinerate for Fire Sword? I don't like the DoT because I find it usually doesn't have time to tick all the way. I think I'm going to keep my Fire Sword at lower level, drop Incinerate at 35, and take buildup then. -
i cant play Saturday nights. scratch me and add someone who can stay for the entire time. Good luck.
-
I have near perma hasten on my ice/stone, and with a bit of tweaking I bet I could get it. It is fast enough to use Seismic Smash twice in one build up. Hasten is a reduction of a second or so at his recharge speed...
The difference from having hasten and not is very minimal with high recharge speed, though it will be an improvement in speed. -
Quote:ancilliary pools are not a waste, just depends on what all you are wanting. I put those in because... they were only getting the base slot.Cool
I like it! Almost the same as mine, but with better use of IO's
.
So I shouldn't waste my time with Ancillary pools?
I was thinking of dropping Fire Sword once I got Greater Fire Sword, but that leaves me with VERY few attacks at lower levels. I'll only have 2 attacks until level 28, but I guess thats alright as I probably won't be exempting THAT much.
If I dropped Hurdle and Taunt, and picked up the Ancillaries that I originally listed, that wouldn't be too bad right?
You do get respecs, and this is a respec build. (You never said what level you were.)
Build yours the way you want. It is your time and your fun. This is just an idea for you to see. -
Quote:+1 X8 will not be a problem at all. Dont waste the slots/enhancements on CE as you have them. Those slots can go elsewhere for better use.I have fire sword circle slotted that way now, and will be slotting Chilling Embrace that way soon.
My goal is for leveling up and being useful once I hit 50. Then I'd like to farm myself some cash, and start on some upgrades.
I appreciate any tips you can send my waythanks!
Oh ya, and while solo farming, I'd like to be able to do +1x8.
My thinking is pretty simple for this and I went after certain set bonuses. You are going to think it is really expensive... but with doing many TF's the merits will build quickly to buy the IO's that are expensive. (and buy them at the lower level for +rech and the uniques so you can XM down to do the lower level TF's for the merits.)
This build increases your recharge without Hasten. Faster Energy Absorption means you dont run out of endurance which means you keep on fighting. You dont need a bunch to instantly cap your defense, which means when you have a bunch you are more resistant to debuffs. FSC, Combustion and Icicles for AoE. Scorch, GFS, and Incinerate for single target.
Build Up every 36 seconds will really help.
You probably wont need Hibernate... however, take it anyways for the OH CRAP factor....

Is this a respec build or a level up build? Are those the only IO's you want, or the ones you currently have?
I have lots of changes that I would do. I dont have time to post it at the moment, but I will post a build or two when I get back from work or when I get the chance in a day or two. -
I think he got busted playing at work on the school computers too much and let other work priorities slide. He didnt want to go to CoX anonymous and tried to justify his playing by writing a crappy report and calling it research about how people are "cox" when playing CoX.
This guy probably believes in the Tyranny of Choice too. -
any tank can herd... not all pugs allow it for positioning though.

I work nights, but I am off on Sundays. -

If you have taunts slotted into Chilling Embrace then the aggro does not leave the tank. If you put two taunt IO's in, you can stay in Hibernate for the entire duration and the mobs will not be pulled off.

SD/Ice melee is viable and fun. I have one at 50 on my now deactivated account.
Against All Odds really helps with the lowest single target tank secondary. There is no redraw on the shield. When you have an armor on, the shield is active.
SD for tanks is really good because you can get close to the soft cap without much effort on IO's with Weave.
It is a fun set, and I wish I had it on my primary account. I have a SD/Fire on it so I cant justify the time it would take to get another to 50. -

great while solo... but if on a team it doesnt really matter unless your mind controller is the tank (which mine has played that role many times.)
