Is anyone else planning to make any character changes when Going Rogue goes live? I'll go first (and get ready to watch Silas faint ):

Myrmydon: Tanker to Brute
Lady Mandrake: Defender to Corruptor
Radial Splendor: Defender to Corruptor

I'm not sure yet if i'll switch some of my character. I might take my elec/kin def to a corr since it would kind of fit his background.

btw: Nice Disturbed quote there Myr great song.

In all seriousness, I've been toying with the idea of making a Controller or two and bringing them redside because Controllers are stupid good. Oh and bringing my Fire/MM Blaster redside.

Other than that, I have no desire for crappy blueside ATs

So here is a question for ya Silas. Defenders. Lets specifically take the debuffing defenders. Like a rad/psi or drk/sonic etc. With their incredible debuff numbers compared to any other AT and their endurance bonus do you think if their build is heavy on the +damage that they could be comparable to a corrupter?

With the coming of the 'grey area,' and the way villainy is oft relegated to arachnos affiliation, I'll be letting some villains go neutralish, play on some task forces they couldn't before. That and get some new badges...but I certainly won't be re-making any into 'new' archetypes. Out of curiosity, what would necessitate deletion of a character to change AT's? If you wish to play brutes/corruptors, such has been possible for quite some time.

Definitely comparable. It depends on the powersets, the build and your personal preference really. I personally don't notice the higher buff/debuff values, but I do notice the higher damage of a Corr. Especially on TFs/trials with AVs/GMs, which is a lot of endgame content.

The thing about +damage is, it works off your base damage. So while you can get a reasonable amount of +damage from sets, Assault with the Defender mod, it's nowhere near as beneficial as it is for a high base damage AT like a Scrapper, Blaster or Dominator.

Defenders are a lot better with Sonic Blast though. Their huge buff/debuff mod means their Sonic Blast can reliably stack 40-60% -resistance, whereas for Corrs it's about 30-45%. Since Sonic Blasts damage is balanced around the fact that it does -res, it stands to reason that the better that -res is, the better performance you're gonna get from Sonic.

For more general debuffing (Dark, Rad, Cold, Storm, etc) I'd rather have the Corr. Solo Defenders, depending on the build, can be stronger than solo Corrs for everything but big game hunting, where Scourge adds phenomenal amounts of damage.

The other advantage Defenders have is getting their buff/debuff stuff earlier. Fortitude and SB at 12 is pretty great.

Oh come now, Silas. We all know that you have been planning a half dozen Scrapper builds in Mids for some time now, just waiting for Going Rogue.

I enjoy the heck out of my fire/storm corruptor. I also enjoyed my storm/sonic defender (on my now dectivated second account.) The corruptor is much more fun to play and more devastating, even without IO's. The defender could debuff more... but the added damage more than makes up for it on the corruptor. And... I really like the chaos I can create at times when needed. Or not needed, but just for fun, muhahahaha....

My first corruptor was craptastic at best being AR/Traps... which is now moved on to virtue where being craptastic is accepted as a concept.

My next project is going to be a fire/earth dom, who will be in the gray area. Finding a team for it may be easier now, though I do really hate the low levels. (email is going to make it better now too)

My rad/rad def will move to the middle, but will not swap completely. It is a tank/mage... what more could I ask for?

I am still waiting on my beta invite... even with greater than 60 months I am left out.... Oh well, more time to get stuff ready.

YMMV---IMO

Dinah Might would never change sides.

I'll be creating a new character to experience the "alignment shift".

Agreed. I think it has a lot to do with your play style. I detest playing this game solo so the defender as a support toon for stronger buffs/debuffs often seems better to me. I will certainly agree for solo play a corrupter would always be better hands down.

FYI, Silas, Tankers rule.

Not deletion, just a namechange and maybe a move to another server for those three. And while we could play them, yes, we could not play them as heroes, which will now be available in a couple of weeks to months.

Actually, a change to a Brute works abit better for the character concept and it would be fun to run through Preatoria with my namesake.

They won't after GR goes live, D. I predict that within a year or so, there will only be a handful left beyond a Tanker Tuesday mothball party.

Tankers are really pretty much only needed now for Hamidon raids, STFs, and I guess soon LRSFs.

Tankers are never needed, but they can certainly help.

Nah, adjustments are a perpetual ballet in an mmo, besides, who knows what Castle has up his sleeve for GR.

The only character I plan on changing sides is my Stone/Stone Brute to blue, because it's the closest that AT comes to being a Tanker.

Now to figure out how to team with my wife when GR is out while she's on Freedumb 99% of the time and I refuse to move. I smell domestic disturbance. ;]
