  1. Positron is a great task force to duo. Just get a filler to help you start it. 8-man Positrons are terrible. Just...terrible. But those are what keeps the merit reward for it high I guess.

Vahzilok are nasty at Posi's level...well, at any level really. Those zombehs are just big sacks of painful puke. At least they're all brainless meatbags if there aren't any surgeons around to lead them.
CoT are ESPECIALLY nasty. Godawful amounts of Ghosts and bubble/earthquake-dropping Ruin Mages if you're more than 2 people, huzzah!

At least in these days you have temporary travel power packs, portals and the doors aren't in the butt-end of Boomtown or in caves in Perez Park's forested-over areas. I still wouldn't want to do it with a full team though.

Synapse needs cleaned up too. Just make those sub-stations either small maps, or make you only have to clear that map once instead of "ok do same map again. And again."

Can't really complain about the other Phalanxer TFs, really. Shard ones are far worse.
  2. Maybe Pocket D has people in it on the roleplay server or something. I don't think I've ever seen anyone in Pocket D on freedom except during the events otherwise. Unless maybe they were in the tiki lounge using the tailor.

DJ Zero having a state-of-the-art arcade gaming center would make a lot of sense, I'd think. He snaps up weird stuff. He set up a ski track in the shard. He leaves a truck just floating outside the window. He stole the Monkey Fight Club from the Rogue Isles. He has arena terminals even though he supposedly doesn't condone any fighting inside Pocket D to avoid having a bloodbath.

It was probably just to prevent coop/PL at 1-35 range. The AE in RWZ is a pretty dumb location to build. If it had been set up inside the Vanguard base to provide VG members some high-tech Rikti combat training simulations (rikti doll farms, lol) it would make more sense.
  3. There were a few tags I was seeing that I had no clue what they were. This thread helped a lot...

I just hope the i15 upgrades make actual Categories you can flag your arc as to replace these sometimes Cryptic tags in mission description. Had one guy telling me SFMA meant SOLO focused mission arc but I kept saying I only heard it being called STORY focused...ack
  4. A ninjitsu scrapper could be fun.

Maybe an ice armor stalker. Defense based set r gud for puny stalker, and a few little toys like a slow PBAOE and icicles (i'd imagine the dull pain would be replaced with Hide). Muahaha?
  5. Meh, PBs are big white blobs of suck. You can just do so much more with the WS. It just takes effort to play to the full potential.

Cysts spawn so infrequently and Quantums have been nerfed so much that they're nearly non-factors now imo. Although the game may still occasionally drop a Cyst in an AV's pack at the end of a TF just to amuse itself...
  6. An endurance discount like Beginner's Luck could be...nice.

Take the example of the brute. Brutes suck without Stamina. Huffing and puffing even with endrdx and crying a little inside as the rage bar putters out.

Stamina is mandatory for a majority of players. Some powersets or ATs don't need it (my claws scrapper doesn't have it, for example, but does have IO Recovery). My WP has stamina, but at 49. But, I run a fairly ridiculous amount of toggles (Leadership, Fighting..giggity) and can run myself dry in extremely long fights. That's mostly just being too lazy to bother Insp combining blues, of course, and me not considering the very last pick you get and very first you lose exemping down to matter THAT much. Could've taken TP other to haul people around the Shadow Shard, I guess. Not that I particularly feel like doing a godawful Dr Q again for a year or two, unless the Merit reward is bumped up to 245 or something. Worst TF with cut and paste mission maps ever.
  7. I only 1-star missions if it's poor attempt to disguise your blatant farm (I 5 star farms--it elevates it up faster so the GMs will nuke it. I guess they put on a vague semblance of a "story" so that the GMs will have to make a decision on whether it's real content or farm content) or if it's so full of typos or poorly executed cut and paste the author should've felt bad for publishing such a half-arsed piece of work.

The rating system needs an overhaul, yah, I agree. Man, I was PISSED OFF some badger left me a comment PLZ 5-STAR MY ARC I 5-STARRED YOUR ARC. You have idiocy like that happening too. Posi shouldn't of associated badges with MA since this wave of Badgers that have come out...they're WORSE than Farmers, man.
  8. The edit doesn't always take, either, I've noticed. Give it a minute and make sure it republished the update instead of AE lag eating it.

    Arc Reviews

I think a player playing around with a Custom factions is GREAT. It's going the extra mile. If the arc itself is covered in typos, bad grammar and nonsensical missions...alright, that's not impressing me any since that completely shoots my opinion of the author's Creativity.

WHY use this wonderful creative tool the devs gave us to make mundane, fought 'em a million times story arcs I say. If someone has done a Luddite arc i'd be all over it. They're practically a custom faction since they're so utterly unused by the Devs.
  10. I was kind of thinking the Dev Choices were written BY the devs. How else did they get picked out so quickly with so few ratings? Noticed some guy had a hall of fame with 0 ratings...whut? Or one had 999+ on the opening day. That's GOTTA be a dev that just set his architect arc to god-tier.

There's so many pages upon pages, and it's so hard to know what's trash and what's alright and what's awesome. I wish there was some kind of database on the CoH website where you could get a better idea. Ya know, Neverwinter Nights mods style. Read reviews and have the mission creator replying to questions or comments. I had played a few really funny arcs, but I'm sure there's just as many i'll never see shining beneath the clutter :/
  11. Easy to implement suggestion for Shadow Shard TFs (no revamping solution, even though they need revamping ) Sell Summon Teammate devices (better yet Summon Teammates) or temporary Personal Teleporters. Have the TF contacts :give: you one, even. Make them to only work in the Shard or give them short life spans or something.

For the first time in years I was about to get to do Faathim (would've been mah first time ever!) but the group fell apart because it turned out none of us had TP friend and the non-flyers didn't want to endure the pain of using the geysers to get around. Tempted to waste a respec and make TP friend my level 41 power pick just for the shard then drop it again if i ever get all of them done
  12. I think there needs to be a time travel arc to take you to original Faultline so people could see it. Assuming the original zone is left over somewhere in the files. It was a HUGE zone so you wouldn't need all of it, but enough to show people how HORRIBLE getting around Faultline used to be.

It could give a nod back to how Statesman wanted to have a trial where heroes stopped the Circle from destroying the dam and unleashing all the pent-up magical energy of Faultline to raise Orenbega back to the surface. That would be bad news for Paragon City and the Mu Mystics inside Arachnos would be none too pleased to have their ancient blood enemy resurrect their dead city.
  13. It's going to be Tyrant. The Praetorians got access to Ouroborous and decided to go take over Rome. They meant to go back into THEIR dimension's time, but Lord Nemesis hijacked their portal and sent them to ours because he thought it would be a good distraction for him as he continues to assemble a massive dalek army to attack the Time Lords.
  14. Ah well, long as they don't start selling Powersets or the Villain Epic AT or new TFs for the low, low price of $9.99 (nickle and diming new content instead of just bundling up a pile of new content in a regular expansion) I don't mind too much.

Costumes aren't much different than the veteran costumes if you think about it. How much did you pay for boxing trunks and gloves? At least they're making them universally available if you go for costume pieces compared to the Never gonna get it rewards.
  15. I agree, double XP makes the higher levels fun like the lower levels. Maybe the XP curve rebalancing will make upper game less of a boring grind and make it more fun like the earlier levels. Here's to hoping Posi is looking at the data miner's info and realizing the reason why there have ALWAYS been places where you did your best to shortcut: be it the old Dreck map farms, the Sewer Trial (back when Krakens and Monsters in general were actually worth fighting. REALLY worth fighting), or the clicky farm in Ouro now.

Maybe it would cut down on farming instead of just having to nerf something because players ended up 'exploiting' it somehow. Some people might just be too lazy to play the game no matter what. I dunno.

There should be a double XP day every month. Just randomly select it so the servers don't get hammered like they are this weekend.
  16. How exactly does PvP damage count more than PvE damage?

0 risk for me here. 2 level 53 malta turrets while resting = 700 damage every 4~ seconds = lots over time. I can't imagine pvp can pour out damage faster or more effortlessly than this farm is doing for me.

My stalker probably didn't even take a total of 2 million points of damage by 50. Already working on Nigh Invincible in the 40s is just crazy. You regen?
  17. Just leaving CoV running a few days in a row while you go to sleep, or go to work, resting on top of 2 level 53 malta turrets will get you there. 14 ticks of 50 a pop every 4 seconds...mmm, that's good damage soaking. I wish I could get a 3rd, but the engineers wouldn't cooperate...
That's what i'm doing right now while I afk for good chunks of an hour at a time and browse the boards.

Taking it down once is Progress. Maybe they'll even reconsider lowering it to Ironman, which is a badge everyone could've earned by 50.

Honestly I think they should rename every epic damage badge to "Bullet Sponge".
  18. Hammer Down already unlocks a secret contact. I consider it 'taken' already.

I don't even care if they changed it to simple "Made". Congratulations, you hit 50. You've fought your way to the elite echelons of Arachnos. Have an accolade. It's pretty obvious all the +hp or +endurance accolades were intentionally set to only be able to be earned in the final levels of your villain career.

At least making "Made" the requirement would be more respectful. C'mon, requiring you to complete recluse's strike force for the Atlas Medallion? Real fair.
  19. Taking 7 ticks of 50 damage from a level 52 malta turret at a fast pace while resting. Looks like i'm up to 4 million damage taken..only a few hundred million more to go!
    /signed

My regen scrapper actually earned that one I believe. But I used to afk on giant monsters in the Hive for hours on end back when Regen was the secondary that lasted forever as long as the first hit didn't kill you. Earning it again is pretty boring.
  20. I figure to earn it they expected you to go afk resting on top a fire in mercy, or somewhere else with constant damage that wouldn't be able to kill you.

AFK accolades ftw. How i'm having to earn those 3 where the requirement is to spend all that time in PvP zones. Got my Warrior boss badge and not even halfway through Siren's Call. sigh...
  21. I actually like this idea. It does seem that there is a very small minority of people who will purposefully try to give you debt. I only use Warburg and BB for nukes and Shivans to use in PvE but it seems that lately there have been a lot of gimps (typically stalker) who broadcast "lol pvp zon del with itz lol" when they attack me near NPCs. Ugh. They won't expect any favors from me; I slap them on ignore afterwards. I don't have dealings with dongs.

PvP is just a chance to be obnoxious in this game, but aiming to give someone debt to give you a "reward" for pvp'ing them isn't only obnoxious: it's griefing.
