Okay, blue-side I've solo'ed EB's with Tanks, Scrappers, Blasters, Warshades, Peacebringers, Defenders and Controllers.

Now, did I solo them without inspies on some of those? HELL NO!

Pretty much any AT can. It simply takes halfway decent power selection, slotting and enhancement choice, as well as appropriate inspie use.

Stupid question. You say you updated your video card. Are you using the Microsoft-supplied drivers? Or the drivers from the video card manufacturer (AMD/nVidia) site? Or the drivers from the video card vendor's site?

As someone who's played Invuln extensively in the last 16-ish months, I feel free to disagree with this.

Unstoppable is an "Oh *BLEEP!* button". It's NOT meant to be regularly used.

If it were, it wouldn't impose BOTH an End AND an HP crash the way it does. Indeed, in the last 10-12 months, on my primary build, I've used Unstoppable exactly TWICE. Once successfully, once not (as the opponent was doing enough damage to render my resists trivial). My secondary build doesn't even have it. It's defense capped and has resists about as high as they can go (plus the various accolades to fall back on).

Thus far, I haven't missed it in the least.

Pre-IO'ing out, it still has a SMALL amount of utility. But again, only in highly emergent situations where you, hopefully, have a chance of either beating the opponent inside the 3 minute death sentence or being able to back out safely and have someone off-tank you during the crash phase.

If they choose to play gimped, they get gimped performance. It really is that simple.

To take it to absurd levels, you should start arguing that all content in the game should be "doable" with TO's or better yet, completely unslotted.

Removing the benefits of careful IO/set/build selection because someone with a 1 million inf SO build doesn't feel as tough as someone with a half-billion inf IO set build is NOT the way to do it.

Would I be HAPPIER if I could def cap with common IOs or SO? SURE!
But it'd be hideously unbalanced in comparison to other defensive power sets then.

    Quote:
The missing survivability is easy to fix with IOs, and my invul feels incredibly tough with them. The whole point is, not everyone can or will be able to make up for their powersets unfair weaknesses.
I call Bovine Feces. If they can't cope with an AV, they can't cope with an AV. If they can't cope against Psi, they can't cope against Psi. That is WAI. It simply means that if they want to build for tougher opponents, they have to work against opponents they CAN handle and build up the wealth.

Today, I started a new blaster. At level 4, it was ALREADY sitting on over 100K inf. Simply from SALVAGE DROPS. I have toons in their mid-20's that are sitting on over 25 MILLION inf.

At that rate of earnings, IO'ing up is NOT cost prohibitive. Nor particularly mentally taxing. There are builds all over this board for just about any particular AT/Power set combo you could ask for.

Also, the weaknesses of the power set aren't "unfair". They're WAD (working as designed). Every set out there has weaknesses. Trying to mitigate them by having the devs eliminate them smacks of entitlement issues.

Okay, also, your current system is dangerously low on free disk space.

As noted, some of the people have suggested installing system cleaners.

This may or may not work with how little space you have.

One thing you can do to free up some disk space, though it's not recommended, is to go into the Windows Folder and delete all the uninstall files for the Windows System Patches.

    1. Go into C:\Windows
    2. Click on Tools
    3. Click on Folder Options
    4. Click on the View Tab
    5. Check "Show hidden files and folders"
    6. UNcheck Hide Protected Operating System Files
    7. Click OK.
You'll now see a bunch of folders that look like $NtUninstallKB974571$.

You can delete pretty much ALL of them. Make sure to clear the Recycle Bin afterwards.

The reason it's "not recommended" is that the time may come that you have to uninstall one of them to make something else work. If you do this, you're boned.

HOWEVER, realistically when was the last time you actually uninstalled a Windows Update?

Anyhow, you can free up at least a couple hundred megabytes (if this machine has been running a long time, you could conceivably free up over a gig.

Then, once you're done, you want to go back to the list of steps above and reverse them (to hide the protected system files again).

There was a time when you could save 50% or even more by assembling your own PC, but for most price/performance points those days are gone. You can still save between 10% and 25% at times, but its usually only worth it if you are really interested in assembling your own system and troubleshooting any problems that might arise.

I do think if you are or are interested in one day being in the IT field, its worth it to attempt to assemble your own computer at least once or twice. Its less about saving money and more about getting educated about the issues involved. It can't hurt to know what every part in your computer does.
Correct. Building your own isn't about saving money (or not directly). It's about knowing what's in the system, planning the system out, and having complete control over the system and what goes into it.

This allows people to better tailor their systems to the tasks at hand, and make tradeoffs to maximize performance.

This is why, if you're tanking something stronger than bosses or EB's, you can use inspies.

This is why, if you're tanking something stronger than bosses or EB's, you start looking to set bonuses to improve your numbers.

With base enhancements, Inv is "okay". For high-threat content, you need to put some thought (and inf) into your build.

    Recipes Drops

Last night the first thing I did was change my setting to spawn mobs for 6 players at normal level (Previously I had set it to spawn for 4 players).

The first mission I tried was more difficult then normal (I died once), but on the seventh mob in the mission the first recipe dropped and, as luck would have it, it was a purple (Armageddon chance of fire damage)

By the end of the mission another six recipes dropped (four generic IOs and two other set ones).

So either the Luck Gods of COH read my post and felt sorry for me, or you guys have the right idea and upping the number of players makes all the difference.

So thanks for your advice and I’ll keep doing solo large group sized missions.
Good. Was about to reply to your original post for clarification as well.

I normally list difficulties as +LEVELxPLAYERS.

So a mission set for +1 level and 4 players is +1x4.

Glad your drops finally started to come through. I have a scrapper already nearing 30 and am sitting on positively STUPID amounts of inf (spent 5 million tonight and had it made up off SALVAGE DROPS in three missions).

Aye. BattleTech used to have this problem. At cons, they'd put out elaborate timelines (most of which were never even CLOSE to being met). Now, stuff may be talked about as "coming" but never "when" until shortly before it ships.

I'd rather be told about the stuff when it was closer to completion (meaning it'd been vetted in-house to be working-ish), rather than having it promised and then pulled if it was sucktastically problematic.

    But that's just me.

Again, this would be a more telling point if it weren't in a farmer's best interest to hide from former fills now that they can create +4x8 mobs all on their own with no assistance.

Not a fact. An observation. Possibly an erroneous one. The only people who can tell you, factually, that the population in-game is down are the people who work at/for Paragon.

Your observation as a single data point in a vacuum isn't very relevant because there are numerous ways to skew your perception on the matter.

Seriously. Just let it go and get back to playing the game. Or, if that's impossible, move on. I don't understand people who get their jollies by trying to discourage others who merely want to play the damn game.

  21. Yeah, was on this afternoon doing a 7 hour push-up session on my Katana/SR scrapper to get a bit more buff (was on at work, getting pestered regularly, so I parked in the two PVP zones available to me and worked the timed badges while locked in the /e pushup emote).

Saw it pop up, and don't remember the exact time.

I'd like to know what the trigger is to.

No. Actually you won't. Run cap is 92.5 mph (IIRC).

Even with Sprint, Swift, and Quickness 3-slotted, that only gets you to about 48.5 mph (with Swift and Quickness providing approximately 70% (10 mph) each). NR provides +140% run speed (or about the same as Swift and Quickness together. That'll get you to 68.5 mph

Still, that's faster than flight. It's also faster than single-slotted SJ.
