    Hey folks,

    Hope all is well. Is it just me or...

    For quite some time, have game mechanics been changed so that "queing" powers instantaneously will not work? I noticed this recently, but never really thought much of it until today...

    I have been leveling a Regen Brute (27) and I notice that I cannot handle alpha strikes. Today on a PUG, I flopped from Freaks +2/8. Such an inability was never an issue, I guess a year or so before. When I am bombarded by foes, I cannot fire-off an attack, reconstruction then dull pain. On a side note, my toon is well built Regen-wise for lvl 27.

    I literally have to "wait" for each power to finish cycling. Again I never experienced this issue long ago. If this is the case, I will delete all my Regen into WillPower for sake of "playability".

    Did I miss something?

    Hey folks,

    Hope all is well.

    Which is a better pairing with Energy Transfer in terms of health mitigation? (This is with using non-expensive IO sets towards soft-capping Defense. Or just plain IOs.)

    1. IA has hoarfrost but a 6 min base timer then, later, a crashless God Mode that has 400% regen, but with (I think) a 5 min base timer?

    2. EA with energize that has 100% base regen with a 1 min base timer?

    Everything else is a toss up to me. Thanks in advance.

    Hey folks,

    Err..would either one have the upper-hand damage wise? I solo alot and fight at +1,3/4 with Boss. Factoring all things:

    1. Dark/Storm
    --Freezing Rain with Immob coupled with Tornado, Lightning Storm and Dark's Pets.

    2. Fire/Dark
    --Tar Patch with Immob coupled with Hot Feet, Bonfire (This is a big "IF", if well placed...) and Imps.

    Wouldn't Dark have the edge? Thanks in advance.

    Hey folks,

    Hope all is well. As the title states I am trying to decide which to roll and any clarification would be appreciated. Separately, I know Katana and Regen well, but not TW.

    Main contemplation is fighting a +2/3 boss/EB, but not AV/GM. Which one would provide better mitigation coupled with damage?

    1. Katana: Has DA, fast attacks/DPS and some KB/KU.
    2. TW (ER...): Gotta get momentum going, but in those seconds I could get pounded, seems to have good burst and single target damage and has KB.

    Hey folks,

    Hope all is well.

    Just wondering if TW is something i'd like because i am really turned off by it is a "combo" set?

    However, I try to keep an open mind, but I say this with much reservation after deleting a 40ish Dual Blades and a 30ish Street Justice toon. Even though Dual Blades and Street Justice combo mechanics are different, I still find them both annoying because, ultimately, you must press X followed by Y to get "maximized" benefits.

    I hope Staff Fighting will not be like this.

    Having to pay local prices here (in my motherland) is really, really upsetting. Most folks here think what they get and pay for are "technological bargains", but some of us know exactly what is in the States. Damn I miss my home...

    Ironic that people pay extra here for parts which ARE made here by major international corporations, but people in States pay dramatically less for the same "foreign" product.

    Hey folks,

    Hope all is well.

    (Preface) I live in a country with limited laptop options and serious price gauging (yay for economic conglomerates...). And no "vast" selection such as from Newegg.

    Basically, if prices are about the same, what should I do:

    1. 1st generation i7 740QM versus 2nd generation i5 2410M (mobile processor)? I read through some separate benchmarks, but, in REAL life, does it matter for just COX and streaming HD movies?

    2. Scenario two:

    1st generation i7 740QM with 1.5 gb GTX 460 mobile gpu.
    versus
    2nd generation i5 2410m with 1gb GTX 560 mobile gpu (superior to gtx 460).

    3. For the next two years, shelling out around $1,350 USD, an overall waste?

    Hey folks,

    Hope all is well. I'm not really sure how to explain this precisely and also I'm not sure if single heal mechanics were changed a patch or two ago.

    I recently noticed when teamed, my targeted teammate's, name box goes from highlighted white to yellow. When this happens, casting a single heal becomes a real PITA. I remember I could just "auto target" through that person and instantly click the single heal.

    Now on large teams, I constantly have to click teammate's name box to make it change from yellow to white in order to cast a heal. Doing this for an 8 man team when things get rough is not fun.

    Is it just me?

    I disagree with the premise of this statement. For much and, truly, much of the game Ninja/Beast run will be just fine for travel powers for ALL levels. There are only several zones where having no "vertical" travel would be truly inconvenient. Terra Volta, Dark Astoria, Shadow Shard, where Hami is (haven't done Hami raids in long time...fuzzy memory) these are a few zones off the top of my head, but these zones are really rare to be in to begin with...

    Basically, with Ninja/Beast Run combined with Swift and Run, you are hitting speeds of (iirc) unslotted fly or even a tad faster. You pretty much hit in the mid 50 mph. Additionally with a power set that boosts run speed such as Super Reflexes or Electric Armour, you hit around mid 60 mph. At this speed you are nearing or around basic Superspeed.

    The thing with Beast Run is that you'll hear tapping claw sound effects as you run whereas Ninja Run, no sounds.

    To get around issues of a lack of "vertical" travel power you can get Jump Pack, or get temporary Jet Packs by getting recipes at Markets or in special zones such as Grandville in COV.

    All of my toons on 4 servers do not have "super" travel powers. Instead I pick up other powers that give better value to my toon from Pool Powers.

    That's it in a nutshell. YMMV.

    Hey folks,

    Hope all is well. Can anyone offer insight why EA would be better than ELA? I just don't see it.

    ELA, in all, can obtain defense through IOs (albeit no DDR), has good Psi resist and does almost same thing as EA.

    I tend to solo a lot and fight bosses, but, I also team when I have time. Both situations are general PVE. And I don't purple.

    Which is better for my playstyle?

    Is there anyway to make Ice Armor "disappear" in color customization with toon creator? I really dislike how it looks and, yes-as vain as it sounds-the visual effects stop me from playing Ice Armor.

    I have never liked the looks of it in this game, but I would very much like to play it as a stalker-not tank.

    1. Does anyone have a FACTUAL list of what MARTy does? And who it TRULY affects and so on?
    2. And if factual information is posted, can this thread be "stickied" for players who want to know forum FACTS without the drama?

    I tried reading through the entire MARTy thread, but gave up (after 16 pages) due to prolonged forum flame wars, exaggerations and the lack of Zwillinger/Red name responses.

    The first post from Zwillinger regarding the thread seems vague. I remember seeing another post from him/her in the thread, but I lost sight of it (again, during the incessant forum bickering and melodramatic responses).

    Thanks folks for suggestion.

    Within seconds of using HD Tune, as suggested by Father Xmas, the program said: "Read Error. Test Aborted". And the health menu states:"Raw Read Error Rate....(Status) Failed" And this message is highlighted in red.

    Currently the Error Scan is running and showing "red" damaged areas.

    Guess my drive is about to die...

    Thanks for info folks. Forgot to mention that I did run CHKDSK and was told nothing was wrong. However, I continue to get "Windows detected a hard disk problem...," and requesting

    1. Start the backup process
    2. Ask me again later
    3. Don't ask me about this...again.
    4. (Care to pull your hair out...j/k).

    Luckily I backed everything up already. Just wondering now if I have a legit disk problem or software and such...

    Hope all is well. How can I thoroughly check if my HDD is really going "bad"? Are there any trusted programs you guys run to check the "health" of your HDD?

    I currently have a fairly new, 3/4 month old Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB:

    Spindle Speed: 7,200RPM
    Formatted Capacity: 931.51GB
    Platter Size: 2 x 500GB
    Cache Size: 32MB
    Model Number HD103SJ    .

    In the past few days Windows 7 (Home-64 bit) has been prompting "bad hard disc" warning and asking if I want to back up hard drive. Also, now, upon boot up, I get a system message asking if I want to backup drive. Followed by CHKDSK verifying 3 stages of "fixing" drive.

    Based on the title, will the Brute will still out damage Tanks given Stone's penalties? Just curious since I'm not a number cruncher. I'd imagine a few non-Stone Tanks would pull ahead??
