Question: Single Heal Mechanics
I... think the yellow highlight just shows you which person you have targeted.
The mechanics of the powers themselves haven't changed at all. You've always needed to target a person to use a single target heal on them, the only thing that's changed in the last few updates is the UI.
I've never had any issue with targetting either through the team window, or just by clicking on that person. Though I generally use the team window, simply because it's easier than trying to click another character with the mouse.
It's gotta be me since I haven't played a "he4lor" for a long, long time. Bad memory...bleh.
You can switch to back to classic UI if you want to.
-Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein.
-I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use. - Galileo Galilei
-When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty. - Thomas Jefferson
What you might be used to is using a variation of the assist mechanics to "target through" enemies to use powers on allies. In PvE, this is still a legal maneuver.
Casting Clear Mind while targeting a mezzing NPC, for instance, will cast Clear Mind on whichever person the mezzer is aggroing at the moment. (Unless that person is you, in which case you get "Invalid Target.") With Heal Other, this becomes a super-lazy way to heal whoever is taking aggro for your team. It's not the best way to heal or buff, of course, but can be useful if the fight overwhelms your graphics capabilities and your framerate plunges.
Hey folks,
Hope all is well. I'm not really sure how to explain this precisely and also I'm not sure if single heal mechanics were changed a patch or two ago.
I recently noticed when teamed, my targeted teammate's, name box goes from highlighted white to yellow. When this happens, casting a single heal becomes a real PITA. I remember I could just "auto target" through that person and instantly click the single heal.
Now on large teams, I constantly have to click teammate's name box to make it change from yellow to white in order to cast a heal. Doing this for an 8 man team when things get rough is not fun.
Is it just me?
Thanks in advance.
