Serious Rubber banding and Lag
2. Japan's recent disaster, I live in a neighboring country (literally), but I don't think my internet connection should be affected (not sure though...). I don't see any news regarding correlation of Japan and local internet issues. |
You can measure your in-game latency via: /netgraph 1 (using /netgraph 0 will turn it back off). From the sound of things, that should show you've got some latency issues... the next step would be to run a traceroute to the game servers (although someone would need to find the IP for that, a quick look on ParagonWiki didn't reveal it for me). The Traceroute should show where along the path your latency gets crappy.

With the high fps but rubberbanding and jumping around of citizens it's pretty much guaranteed to be connection problems. Do as Kitsune suggested and check your latency. What you are hoping to see is a short green lawn. What you will probably be seeing is a tall green lawn with lots of yellow and red patches. Yellow means the ping time is really high. Red means lost packets.
There is also the possibility that it isn't an in route connection problem but rather one with your router. If you can do so then try connecting your computer directly to your modem rather than through the router and see if that eliminates the problem.
And lastly since your problem started around the time you started using the launcher make sure you have the launcher settings (accessed through file>settings) set to exit the launcher when game loads.
Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!
Kitsune Knight and Mandu,
Thank you. I'll do as advised.
Thanks again,
HwaRang.
Kitsune Knight and Mandu,
Ran Netgraph and lots of Red, Yellow spikes sprinkled with green.
Hey folks,
Hope all is well. I'm having serious rubber banding and lag issues. At 1280 x 1024, I get 85 FPS in COV. However, NPCs and cars rubber band, Market and Paper mission updates lag severely and so on...
Ever since installing to NCsoft's Launcher or around Japan's unimaginable disaster, COX has issues. As for the two events mentioned:
1. I reinstalled NCsoft Launcher and no fix.
2. Japan's recent disaster, I live in a neighboring country (literally), but I don't think my internet connection should be affected (not sure though...). I don't see any news regarding correlation of Japan and local internet issues.
I have no clue what the cause is.
Thanks in advance.
