This is great, is there any word on the overwhelming force set? It's currently locked with a minimum level of X-3 where X is the level of the character that got the enhancement. So a level 50 character generates an enhancement with a minimum level of 47. Also, it can be traded and stored, but cannot currently be put on the market. Is this intended or a bug, and will it be fixed?

Worked ok on my troller and my stalker, on my arachnos right now and it looks to have bugged out and not ported 3 people back to the hideout. One person is whittling down the guards while I'm tabbed out typing this since there seems to be no way to get there.
-
So I ran the summer event on my fresh 50 corruptor, perfect no troubles at all.
So then I queue on my brute, join events in progress was NOT selected and I was dropped into an event where the cinematic to start the casino was already playing, only 3 players and we are in the hideout so cannot select roles. People drop, I requeue and things start up right this time, once we complete the first stage of the casino heist and were 'tracked to our hideout' the event failed as no one was actually teleported back to the hideout so we could not defeat goons to advance to the next phase. Dropped and tried again, and it finally worked right.
So far that's a 50% bug fail rate... ouch. Trying it on my troller now. -

Ok, Here's what I came up with for the sniper respec, pretty much the same just tinkered around with stuff. I could probably clean up the levels on things and such, but this gives me the framework. I thought about going with Sting of the Manticore in the snipe but I really don't need the recharge from it and the defenses are a little more well rounded by using Thunderstrike and it gives a very nice set of Acc, Dam, Rech and End redux.

I came back from a couple months away from the game and was kind of surprised to see this still on the first page, but I guess the corr forum moves a bit slow. The builds posted here gave me a great starting point and I tinkered something together for myself that should sit around 48% M/R/A with powerboosted farsight as well as having perma chronoshift and hasten.
With the upcoming changes to snipe shots I will likely change it around and take things at slightly different levels to end up with Fire Blast, Blaze and Blazing Bolt as my single target attacks since the build will easily hit the 22% needed for uninterruptable fast cast sniper shots. Currently I am at level 41 and climbing. The corr ATO set would be catalyzed eventually, but since I dont have the catalysts on the character now I wanted to see what it looked like without them. I also like the build since I have almost everything I need for it already, I think I might need to shop for a couple of touch of death pieces and two shield breaker pieces and maybe a couple of lotg 7.5s. I'm not sure how the end usage will be though. Running Maneuvers, Tactics, Weave and combat jumping it sits on a usage of .78/s with recovery of 3.21 (4.17 for 30 sec every click of chronoshift). With the hefty recharge in the build I think it could suck itself dry with blaze and blazing bolt, even with both having 60%+ end redux, and the fast rechaging aoes will be hard on the blue bar, but I'm not overly worried about it as it should have solid end coming back even solo, and on teams I'll have some support abilities to give me a bit of rest from the end burn of full attacking.
Thoughts? Critique? Will probably do a revamp soon to post the sniper build for the intended upcoming change, but the slotting should be identical (moving flare slotting to blazing bolt) to keep my set bonuses the same for defenses, so that shouldn't make any functional difference.
Incarnate abilities? Undecided. Likely intuition radial (Hold, Damage, Slow, Def debuff, Tohit debuff, Range), Ion judgement, Something Lore... and destiny I am just not sure. Clarion would be nice for some mez protection on things that might get through but Barrier would give a nice little boost for incarnate content. Hybrid... looks to just be a mess. I REALLY hate the way the implemented it and it will probably be a far far afterthought that I will only pick up for the 10% end redux passive or something.

The heal in elec is solid. I think you will be quite satisfied with your TW/Elec. I've played a few brutes and scrappers of different sets and settled on a TW/Elec brute to invest in. He's got moderate investment of incarnate stuff and a decent setup of IOs, though nothing staggeringly expensive. I think he sits around 50% s/l to get a little above the basic softcap for incarnate content and he's rock solid. Very tough, very versatile. He can stand up and fight just about anything, I'm quite pleased with him.
EDIT: Just wanted to add that your endurance bar will be bottomed out until you get the end drain in elec, it's a bit of a rough ride until then but not terrible. -
Thanks, nice stuff. So I'm guessing there is no issues with converting current ATOs into the new ones aside from RNG hating you of course.
-
Ok so I've seen a few references to new ATOs on the way. I don't see anything on the wiki about them and wanted to know if there's a reference somewhere. I know set bonuses get adjusted etc but mostly I just wanted to take a look at the new procs and see what might be in store for us.
Additionally, I was curious if anyone knows if the current ATO sets can be converted to the new sets with converters once the sets are live. -
Quote:Probably completely unnecessary. My staff/Da brute is currently 42. I've been running almost all my toggles almost all the time and had no issues with end. I've got some decent IO slotting going on, but not focused particularly heavily on end redux. That's every toggle in DA except Oppressive Gloom which isn't an end user anyways, and tough/weave on top of it. I've got a performance shifter proc and end mod in stamina, superior conditioning and phys perfection with basi IOs in them. That's it, no miracle, numina or anything else. With Form of Soul I don't have end trouble, period. Sometimes I dip a little bit against freakshow if I get a particularly huge group of sappers and get no +end proc off my heal, but it's rare. It's pretty much completely end sustainable with no special effort made in that direction beyond Form of Soul. Then you especially want to put a 50+5 End mod IO in it, because that will increase your max end, which means you recover more at the same % and one 50+5 End Mod IO in there should put you around 109-110 max end before any other +end set bonuses come into play...10 free endurance? worth it everytime.

This interests me greatly. I've gotten a good handle on building typed defense, but I haven't tinkered much with building for positional. If anyone sees a positional staff/dark brute build around please link it or pm me or something would ya? I'd be very interested in taking a look at it since my staff/dark is 39 now and I'm having a lot of fun with him.
-
I would be happy if they would just turn off all the swag for that screen. The % chance doesn't need to scroll from 0 to 100. There doesn't need to be a flash for combining, the icons don't need to slowly float from place to place. If they reduced all that pointless flash, it would take 1-2 seconds for a combine instead of 5-8 seconds I would be a lot more pleased with the process if we had an option to turn that off.
-
Absolutely. I use Agility on my TW/Energy Aura scrapper. It's a great alpha with a lot to offer the right build. I was just pointing out that when you only have a very small defense number from powers it will give very limited return for that purpose. Getting lots of mileage out of all the features though makes it a great choice. I'm working on it for my TW/Electric too.
-
Unless I'm mistaken, agility will only boost your powers, not your set bonuses. So you're talking about a small boost to Weave, combat jumping and maybe maneuvers or something? Doesn't seem like a good investment to me, but I could be wrong about that.
-
I think I may have taken one or two of the personal attacks a long time ago, but haven't touched them on anything I've played recently (past 3-4 years). They're just pretty bad IMO, low damage, high end cost and generally they waste time that could be devoted to my secondary. The -res from demons is pretty nice I suppose and might be worth taking another look at, but generally I find them to be a waste of time.
-
So I'm rapidly closing on 50 with my TW/Elec brute and I am just not sure what to do for his alpha. It's a s/l sofcapped build (well, 40% s/l right now) that has just a touch of recharge worked in where it can.
Cardiac obviously helps TW, but elec already has endurance tools so I'm not sure that would be needed. The damage resist to be had here could be handy, but is a bit underwhelming.
Musculature is going to give a nice damage bump, but that's it. Since brutes have lower base damage the impact to be had there isn't as pressing and the secondary effects there are nothing worth noting.
Resilient is the same issue, nice resists but the secondary effects are just not even worth looking at. Same issue for spiritual. I think the recharge bonus would probably be a better DPS bump than musculature for me though.
Vigor is useful, but lackluster. Nothing there to wow me, the heal is nice, the end redux is nice the acc is nice... but nothing just jumps out.
Agility is currently the front runner in my mind. The end mod stuff would be handy since it will affect my epic pool as well as stamina and endurance drain. This also gives the recharge I think would be a big dps boost, a little defense love (but not much since it won't affect set bonuses) and some move speed is always good.
Also.... trying to decide between barrier and rebirth. I think that with layered s/l defense and resists barrier might be less of a survivability increase. The things that are going to be dangerous are going to be mostly hitting things that are so neglected barrier can't fix the hole.
I'm not really well versed in high end brute builds or incarnate stuff however, so while I think I'm heading in the right way it's very possible I've missed something and any input is very welcome. -
Quote:Just a nitpick, Energy Drain is at 35, not 26. Those 9 long levels with no end refill can be a long road. It's worth it though, /ea is a great set. It's STJ burning through the endurance. At 25, you don't have access to /EA's end management tools yet. At 26, you'll get Energy Drain and at 28, Energize. Both should help with your endurance. And definitely get your attacks slotted with at least 33% end rdx if you haven't done so already.

Quote:Sorry, I guess I was unclear. What I was asking was in regards to the group respawning if I should come back around for another go at it. Do I need to wipe out the whole group so a fresh one will spawn with a new fake nemesis, or do I still have a shot at getting more Nems even if I just pop my target and move on?To address the follow-up question: You just pop the nem and move on, no need to kill the whole spawn for badge credit.
Thanks for all the other tips guys, most appreciated! -
So, what's the best way to go about grabbing these? It doesn't seem that freaks or nemesis show up as radio missions in PI so no easy resetting there. I can easily run solo at x6-x8 so if I can grab a mission that has those targets I should be able to reset a couple times and grind out the badges.
Anyone know of any nice missions in the high level range that I could grab those enemy groups from? I just don't know the blue side content very well yet. Or am I stuck street sweeping for these? If I need to street sweep where would be best? PI I think is the common venue for hunting fake nems right?
EDIT: Not 100% on street sweep respawns, do I need to kill the whole spawn or can I just pop the nem and move on? -
Quote:Good tips, thank you.I think Maria's Arc is among the coolest in the game (new version is even better) and never miss it, it's the first thing I do when I reach 45. Not a huge fan of doing her one-of missions, though...
People already pointed you to the right missions, so I'll just throw out a couple tips you probably already know, but I'll leave here anyway for future reference:
1) For the Shrouded badge, you don't really have to do the mission, just step inside the map, exit (sometimes the exit area doesn't work and you have to use one of the ways to teleport out), check that you have the badge and abandon the mission.
2) You don't actually need to keep DOING missions for Maria until she gives you the ones you want (sometimes she is capricious and takes a looong time to do it), you can just keep picking a random mission from her and abandoning it until the right one shows up...
The first and foremost thing that I have learned in running these arcs... Marauder is freakin annoying! He seems to have two different T9 armor powers or something. It's boring as heck beating him down through two spans of time where my damage is tanked. Not tough fights, just boring. -
Thanks all, very much appreciated!
It's a very cool arc (I've mostly played red side since when I started with a friend that's what they were doing) and I want to check out what else is going on, I just want to get myself lined up right to get my accolades going. -
Ok, so I've found a brute that I'm really having a lot of fun with (TW/Elec, currently at 46 running 37% s/l) and I'm working on getting him some accolades.
Now, I've run the Hero's hero arc from Maria Jenkins and I'm looking over the rest of the requirements. It seems I still need to beat Siege. Now, the wiki lists that I defeat him in the 'Bring back the missing scanners'. The issue is... there is no such mission listed in the Maria Jenkins wiki entry so I'm not sure if I somehow missed him in the arc I've already run and need to run it again through ouro, or if it's in one of the missions I have not yet done for her.
Same goes for the Shrouded badge. It lists that I need to spend time in the 'disrupt Nightstar's ritual' mission from Maria, except there is no such mission listed in her wiki entry.
Obviously I want to run all the arcs eventually, but at this exact time I'm more worried about being sure I hit the badge requirements. Anyone know if I just need to keep running missions from her, or did I somehow miss these? -

Did I guess right? This was from the freedom /help channel about a SS/WP brute right? I'm sure if you post up a mids chunk people would be willing to critique it for you. I doubt the mods are going to make a big deal over having it here.
If it's really that big an issue you can post the mids info, I'll copy and paste it into the build forum and you can edit your post, then I'll just direct people to this thread to offer you feedback. Really though, I don't think the mods will do anything.

Zen Paradigm
Zen Brutality -
I have a couple question about a couple of different sets.
First off, for Thugs/time I want to figure out the best spot to toss my Temporal Selection for wading through x8 missions when solo. For tough targets obviously the bruiser is the prime choice, but for wading through big groups of mooks I am not sure if I will get better mileage by tossing it onto the arsonist with his variety of AOE.
Basically, the same considerations for Demon/time. Temporal selection onto the Hellfire LT? Demon prince obviously is a nice bruiser too, but has a lot of control and not much aoe damage.
Demon prince slotting... I seem to recall there being some issues here about endurance reduction slotting. I think it was that the plain pet damage sets don't work well for him because most of his attacks are Slow effects and the regular pet sets don't reduce the end cost on them. Currently at level 33 I have a plain endredux SO in there, and he seems to tank his end pretty fast even with that, do regular endredux so/io work correctly on all his abilities? Any slotting suggestions are welcome here, though I may have to wait a bit as mid level pet IOs seem to be almost nonexistent on the market.
Lich slotting. Uh... kinda lost here. Should I be slotting for damage? Enhancing his controls? I seem to recall there being a proc you can slot in there somewhere (to hit debuff damage proc maybe?) Any suggestions in general are welcome. -
Sorry if I didn't specify, this would be for some quickie AE farming, not out in various missions. Just quick and dirty fire farm caves or something.
