So... I've been looking at this for far too long, swapping slots, sets, powers and not getting much closer to my goals. Maybe someone else would be willing to tinker with it

Toon is to be as sturdy as possible for PvE, and it'd be great if I could get it to where I don't have to lean on the +recovery form. I'd like to softcap all 3 positions, and 95% chance to hit +3s.

Power choices are mutable. I had Focused Accuracy where Mercurial Blow was with a set of Gaussian's, to explain that wierd placement. I'd love to squeeze in taunt but can't figure out where.

Right now I'm looking at Agility Core for alpha slot, relevant numbers are 46.4% melee, 44.7% ranged, 43.4% aoe defenses. 2.17 net recovery, plus 3 pshifter procs (that's with alpha and accolades). Cardiac seems like a possibility, but I really like the recharge from Agility.

Any thoughts/improvements? Alternate builds? Hoping someone will have seen something I didn't. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

What you'll want to do is take the Perf Shift Proc out of superior conditioning and put a 50+5 End Mod IO in there...superior conditioning adds to your max endurance...you'll want that to be a constant number

You don't understand how the proc works. The perfshifter proc in Superior Conditioning works the same as it does in Physical Perfection, Stamina or Quick Recovery. When it procs, it grants you ten percent of your max endurance. It doesn't randomly increase your max endurance. It's fine in there. Mathematically it may or may not be the best choice but the proc will work exactly as the OP expects it to.

OP I think that's an interesting build. Personally I aim for S/L defense on my DA characters, but to each their own. That's a lot of end drain; I wonder if Form of the Soul can counteract it sufficiently, or are you planning on using Ageless?

Form of the Soul should handle it, I think. Toon is 38, mostly in SO's (though I already have the health uniques and some -kb) and is running all the toggles except maneuvers. I'm not finding end consumption to be a problem, but I'd like to move away from Form of the Soul if I can. Net recovery with alpha and accolades, including the pshifter procs, should be around 2.8 end/s, and my attacks have decent endredux... I'm hoping it's manageable. I haven't decided between ageless (mostly for the +rech and ddr) and barrier.

I've done a few DA toons now, my others are typed def, so I thought I'd give this a shot. You may find on your own toon, that it's worth squeezing in some e/n def once your s/l is where you want it. DA has pretty low energy resistance, and there are a bunch of energy attacks. I've found it helped 'sturdy up' my other DA toons.

another edit to add: the stealth proc is completely unnecessary. I had it in there from when I was looking at Super Jump and taunt in place of hasten. So torn...

Probably completely unnecessary. My staff/Da brute is currently 42. I've been running almost all my toggles almost all the time and had no issues with end. I've got some decent IO slotting going on, but not focused particularly heavily on end redux. That's every toggle in DA except Oppressive Gloom which isn't an end user anyways, and tough/weave on top of it. I've got a performance shifter proc and end mod in stamina, superior conditioning and phys perfection with basi IOs in them. That's it, no miracle, numina or anything else. With Form of Soul I don't have end trouble, period. Sometimes I dip a little bit against freakshow if I get a particularly huge group of sappers and get no +end proc off my heal, but it's rare. It's pretty much completely end sustainable with no special effort made in that direction beyond Form of Soul.

In my case, not worth it. This build has 119 end with accolades and alpha, so a pshifter proc will be worth roughly .238 end/s over time. Even assuming it has a bad run on the RNG, it ought to be good for .2 end/s, ish. A 50+5 end mod in Superior Conditioning is worth .1 end per second on the base build, .09 end/s with accolades and alpha applied. So a bit less than half as beneficial. I don't think the RNG will ever roll badly enough to bring it down to this number, so I don't think the fact that it's constant rather than "random" is really a convincing argument, either. Thanks for the feedback, though

Well not sure this would work for you but I have you capped to positional. Not sure how much fun I would have with this since I capped mine for S/L and as high as I could get on resistances but overall you should be fairly durable!

Some interesting ideas there, I'm going to have to peek at my build again to see if I can short stamina by a slot with my alpha. May have to do 2 builds, another for exemping down...

Some quick 'at a glance' thoughts, Stealth can't be used at the same time as CoD. At best it's a set mule, then. No big deal since I can replace it with hasten and have a slot to play with, or taunt and have 2 slots freed up.

And I haven't tinkered with it yet, but I'm not sure I can get accuracy where I want it for Dark Regen with a single IO. And I'll miss that ToE proc, which makes it an endurance neutral power in most cases... I'll play with it some and see if I can't work something out.

Take 2.

45.2%/45%/45.4%, 1.97 net recovery (plus the pshifter procs should be 2.6+ in practice, 120 total end) with alpha and accolades.

I guess I'll have to see how it shakes out, I'm 41 now and running all the toggles on mostly SO's; I haven't taken any epic powers so I think I'll be able to switch to the +rech form. I dropped hasten in this build for taunt, it was the difference between a 9.x second heal and a 12 second heal. I'm not 100% on that choice either, but I can grab a slot from dark regen if I decide to go back to hasten.

Not sure if this will help you, but maybe give you some ideas....i went a different route though i softcapped S/L Def instead of positions, and got as much psi res as i could...i plan to do the cardiac alpha, but i am thinking resilient may work too....i am not having any end issues in form of soul, but minor issues in the other forms...should be fine if i get cardiac. I hit 50 last night on this toon and absolutley love him...enjoy!

Exemping build.

I built this with an eye towards exemping down to do lower level stuff, I keep all my set bonuses (save the t-strikes) to level 25. I went for s/l/e/n, as there are quite a few ranged energy attacks with no s/l component and DA has poor energy resistance. I got 42.5% s/l, 41.3% e/n, without running maneuvers (which was intended as a mule, but I have enough recovery to run it boosting the def numbers to 45.1% s/l, 43.8% e/n). Net recovery without the epic powers active is 2.52 end/s with accolades, not including the pshifter procs.

I'm not sure what to do about guarded spin, as it isn't really doing much for me. I left it as is to help me when I exemp below 25.

I tweaked precise strike to include the brute fury proc and a heca proc, so had to change guarded spin as well. Kinda made sense since I won't be relying on guarded for defense, I won't be using it as often so not the best place for the fury proc. Picked up a little s/l (now 43.8%) and a bit of recovery.

Working on this combo myself but am wrestling with the holes.

I see ST damage, accuracy, end use and recharge as the challenges. I'll break out lore pets for ST and set bonuses will hopefully get ok accuracy but I'm struggling to get everything I want elsewhere. Things like Cloak of Fear, Barrier and Darkest Night seem great survival aids at top end but then end use or recharge take a hit.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Level 50 build, Take 3
or: I have no idea which way to go with this.

So, I felt like I was sacrificing a lot of little goodies chasing the positional softcaps. I put together another build with 45% melee/32.5% ranged/32.5% aoe as the goals.

And here's what I've come up with. First question: should I swap the slotting of Precise Strike and Sky Splitter?

Also, I'm torn as to which alpha I want to pursue. Cardiac adds a nice chunks of resists and makes any endurance worries disappear, but I'm about 12s off permahasten. Agility bumps the end a little, and adds a similar amount of dmg mitigation via defense (and I could tweak CoD and weave for more endredux and less defense enhancement) and brings hasten's downtime to 3.3s (I'm leaning most strongly towards this, I think). Spiritual is another interesting option, as it drops hastens downtime to .5s, and the heal enhancement would let me retool Dark Regen a bit, freeing up a slot or two for more recovery.

Fair warning, CoF will mess with your streakbreaker in unhappy ways if you can't get it's accuracy up- which is really tough, even slotting for acc and building for global acc bonuses. I managed on my DA/SS tank, but that's got rage and a ton of global accuracy...

I expect I'll go Barrier. This latest, lower defense build has enough recharge to chain the 3 aoe's or run the top ST chain as the situation requires. The DDR and recovery were kind of tempting, but the DDR numbers just weren't all that... though maybe if I go with the 'Take 2' build...

I know some people swear by Darkest Night, but... I've found it to be pretty situational. Gloom's DPS advantage is diminished with weapon redraw, too. I have a couple of toons that took it, it's useful on itrial AVs (which are already awash in debuffs on most leagues) and I've also found it gives me a fighting chance to burst down Master Illusionist's Dark Servant pets before they cream my to-hit -sometimes, or at least helps mitigate incoming dmg a bit while I wait for them to vanish if not. The cast time just makes it not that useful in most team settings, not to mention a not insignificant end cost. My 2 inf, ymmv, and all that.

It's a tight build, for sure. I'm still considering giving up a bit of recharge to pick up taunt.

It's a challenge for sure but I love the all-round survivability options and Dark Regen won't let me walk away from this combo lol.

I'm thinking of dropping CoF and forgetting Soul Mastery completely. With soft-capped positionals and a range of T4 incarnate powers you could swap out to suit the enemy or task. This should leave me with a great all-round toon that could tank or solo as required.

Of course then I start thinking about Staff/Elec with all it's built in goodies and I get a Mids craving all over again hehe.
