Enhancement Boosters

MY APOLOGIES if this has been posted already. I looked and couldn't find it.

Can we PLEASE get a +5 option on the enhancement combo screen? It's a huge pain to have to +1 enhancement after enhancement after enhancement after enhancement over and over and over and over. Takes FOREVER. Having an option to use 5 at once would be VERY helpful!!

Thanks!

I agree it would be helpful and I can totally sympathize because I could have used it a few times myself. The problem is that it would likely only be used by tiny number of people at most a few times, ever. It's pretty clear it's something that would not be needed near often enough for the Devs to waste the effort to code a unique button for.

Sure it's a pain doing them one at a time - but once done it's done and you can always consider it the price of becoming super-duper.

How about instead, when you boost something it asks you how many you want to use (so you type a number and hit enter to complete the boosting process -- PS, the "hit enter" part is really important, far too many UI dialogs in this game do not utilize the enter key). This way folks can apply ANY number of boosts in one go to an enhancement, which means it'd get far wider use than the option to boost by five.

This would definitely be more flexible than the hardwired "5 booster button" idea.

Still I think this kind of QoL improvment would be so far down on the list of priorities that we'd probably see CoH2 happen before we'd get this. None of these things are strictly "bad" ideas - they're just solutions to "problems" that are highly situational and relatively rare per character. *shrugs*

I would be happy if they would just turn off all the swag for that screen. The % chance doesn't need to scroll from 0 to 100. There doesn't need to be a flash for combining, the icons don't need to slowly float from place to place. If they reduced all that pointless flash, it would take 1-2 seconds for a combine instead of 5-8 seconds I would be a lot more pleased with the process if we had an option to turn that off.

I guess I just don't see the difficulty here. Didn't they already add stuff to the combination screen? Like the option to add boosters or catalysts to the enhancement you have selected...? Doesn't seem like it's life altering to just add an "add ___amount of boosters" options somehow.

SCR goes here.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

No matter how "easy" it would be it would still take some amount of time and effort from a Dev, it would still introduce a new possibility for them to inadvertently add new bugs to the game, and it would be "solving a problem" that affects very few people a very small number of the times.

If you could somehow make the case that you were going to be maxing out characters like this every day you might be able to convince them this is a QoL improvment we needed. But since most people aren't going to have to do this more than maybe a few times -ever- this is not really a "hardship" that needs to be addressed as a top priority.

From a simple engineering point of view it's not worth it for multiple reasons. *shrugs*

NO idea what "SCR" is.

I can see your points...being that it isn't something that will affect me EVERY day, but as I had just finished boosting many many many enhancements on my current toon that I finished the build for, I remember thinking to myself, "Man, I am NOT looking forward to all this boosting on my next one". Given the advantages to boosting enhancements five times, I guess I'm suriprised to hear more people aren't jumping all over these. Sure, they're not life altering, but effective enough to make it worth boosting to some degree on all my characters.

It's short for Standard Code Rant. It's the forum term that's used whenever anyone proposes a change that they generally (and/or naively) think should be "quick and easy" to do without any direct knowledge of the code needed to actually implement the change.

That's really the point I'm trying to make - the overwhelming majority of players aren't going to be dealing with huge numbers of Boosters to begin with. Sure there might be someone out there who bought hundreds of these things to "+5" multiple characters with. But since the current system is adequate for the job I simply suspect the Devs aren't going to waste time and effort giving us a unique way to save a handful of people a few minutes of time.

OH...I was not familiar with that acronym. Thanks for clarifying that. Makes sense...I guess I definitely fit that description!
