The Distinguished Competition is making their debut let them have their moment.

Happy New Year, may your play be great and Doom be light.
-
Ran Imperious a few days ago with a bots mastermind and it was a nice brisk completion. My roommate ran one with a Ninja's Mastermind last night and they were also successful.

It took seven months to get my first character to 50. On my last one I did it in two months of focused play oh and it was solo.
Hooray for the granular mission slider! Plus it was my first Praetorian 50 so I was racing incarnate content at the time, but also purposfully taking him through the story arcs that I wanted to be part of his history on Primal Earth.
He doesn't have a good opinion after that whole Revenant Hero Project thing and Crimson kind of frightens him, but Malta is worse. However the water on Primal Earth doesn't taste funny. -
I never seem to have enough. I just make it over the hump to get a common crafted (for one of my "legion" of 50's") and then I think, "Oh, I need to make an uncommon...need shards, must get shards."

Divus: "Di (short I) -vus,(like "bus")" although I think the more "correct" Latinish pronunciation would be "Dee-wuus."

Aache: Level 42 Mind/Rad controller. This is my second oldest character and I just can't bring myself to play him. /Rad somewhat counters what I see as deficiencies in mind, but I just can't get over them and I don't team often and this character needs a team...period. I haven't deleted him yet based simply on affection. The Fortunata I have is everything I ever wanted in a mind controller plus a shot of vitamins. Aache is obsolete. If there is another round of free server transfers, I may try to free up his name for a more worthy successor.
Cannon: Level 50 Nrg/Nrg Blaster. This is my oldest character and he is loaded with regret. He's my first 50 but he's kind of built from the hopes, dreams and desperation from a first time MMO gamer. Add in the nerfs to Total Focus and Hamidon Enhancements, I generally dread playing him so I don't. He did have all of my Hami's though until I rifled him during the first Issue 19 respec.
Sol Divus: Level 50 Ice/Kinetics corruptor. This was my first villain and first villain 50. He's a "settle" character. I wanted Electric/Kinetics, but Electric was not available at launch of CoV (you'd think with all of the bloody Mu floating around it would have been there). So I settled. And while I was relatively happy with the character, I've become less so, particularly since he seems so ridiculously squishy now, heal or no heal. -
Quote:Lately when I roll Praetorians, I head straight for the Loyalist/Resistance contacts. You may be level two, but you can still get the missions and get started. You just have to know where they are. At level 4 all Scott or Marchand do is tell you where they are physically. THe missions themselves aren't level locked.I think about starting a Praetorian. Then I think about having to rescue those cops from that stupid tunnel system for the -nth time. Then I roll red or blue.
I do Maruder's missions last before I leave Nova and I always hit the complete button on the cop mission...always. I hate those guys. They have the survival skills of hydrophilic lemmings. -
Issue 19 is here? I feel tonight will be lost in the agnst of respec hell.
-
I absolutely despise "New Seige" even at -1 EB and a full fury bar and max capped on red's I can't beat him down. Seriously needs to be rethought.
-
My first 50, an nrg/nrg blaster has flight and super jump. I only have super jump so I can get the status protection power that comes after and I don't keep it on my power bar.

Thanks for the update.
Now to get the Praetorian to 50 while finishing my favorite story arcs. -
I think I would put in more fluffy things:
-Player Housing
-NPC Romance Subplots including hostage story arcs.
-Even more body sliders
-More zone events
-More Malta (I only say this because I hate Malta, but I also find them fascinating and terribly effective. I even root for Arachnos vs Malta. I would like to see a Malta Island so we can go infiltrate them for a change.)
-Antagonistic Longbow: I don't like Longbow, I think they're one Malta psy op away from becoming a force against metahumans who they did not control or create.
Edit: Oh yeah as someone said upthread, WEATHER. I want rain, fog, ice, sleet and snow. -
I think there is a great deal of satisfaction from the people currently playing, but the thread's purpose kind of asks for the scabs to be picked at and so the inflammation is churning.
-
I want I19, but I want my Praetorian Brute to be my first Incarnate and he's only 44. I may have to stop playing arcs and put him in a grinder group.
-
I own this now. The moneys were well spent!
-
It's the only MMO that let's me be Super in a fleshed out world with gameplay that supports my internal stories for my many characters while also providing highly motivating story arcs.
-
I want a drink. a cigarette and a night in a New Orleans bar.

After watching again on Hulu, I think one of the reasons Amber Riley's performance as Frankenfurter made such a strong impression on me was that she inadvertently conjured a memory of Tina Turner's "Acid Queen" from Tommy. She was great on her own, but the whole "mistress of temptation" angle, plus the cape and the sass, all she needed was a cigarette holder and a chromed iron maiden in the background.
If you haven't seen it before, here it is. It is edgy. Not 90's or Aughts edgy, it's rock opera edgy, kind of like Rocky Horror but less fluffy.

I like it to be there. In general, I am an "ooooh what's this do?" kind of player and all of the tchkes and mintue do a lot to bring me deeper into the experience. I tend to lean towards games that can give a "novel-like" experience and shun games that are thinner on story.
I also tend to replay my games a lot, particularly if I blew through it the first time and I always relish finding something that I skipped or missed the first time.
Now on the other hand, I like the option of hitting "esc" to break out of whatever cutscene I'm trapped in so I can move on, but on the whole, the complete experience is what makes me want to buy a game so I can do it over and over again. -
Mercedes makes a great Frankenfurter! She went full Ballroom with that number.

It's a strange glorious trainwreck!!!
