Top down, left to right, Primary power sets first.
    Would work for me.
  2. Hmmm, since AR doesnt have a nuke, will it be getting a buff in one of its powers?
  3. This idea would be awesome - /signed.

    Couple caveats

    - if you dont have enough influence, maybe have it slot out the first X enhancements that you can afford.

    - make it work for both SOs and DOs.

    - If you are currently slotting DOs, give an option to upgrade to SOs.

To the person who suggested using IOs, I think those are inferior to SOs until about level 35 or 40 - not a good option, and tend to be more costly.

Not simple to get alts into a one man SG, unless you beg someone to temporarily join the SG.

I would definitely like to see this, even if it's just a small storage area for just a dozen or so items.

    Giant Crocodile

Sigh, that giant Croc was annoying enough in EQ. Leave him there.
  6. I want costume pieces that make it look like the character is actually made out of water. ( i.e. partially translucent with a shiny watery surface texture ).

    New ATs

I've always enjoyed making a Paladin type character in single player RPGs. I guess that would fall under Melee/Support.

The primary would be a copy of scrapper and/or brute power sets.
The seconday would be a mixture of self defense and team buffs/pulsing heals.

I've also proposed a "Bard" type AT in the past, which would fall either under
    Support/Melee or Support/Control/Assault.

    Quote:
Also, there was an AT in theat other thread called the Duo that consisted of a singular pet follower that would assist you. That seemed potentially very cool, as long as it is customizable (HUGE concept opportunities there).
Yep, typically called a Hunter or Ranger in fantasy RPGs. I could definitely go for this. A single, powerful controllable ally
combined with moderate ranged damage from the player.
  8. Not sure I understand, you get a mission early on to provide an alternate costume slot to go "undercover" - and you can use any costume part on the 2nd slot.

I currently have a hooded soldier - none of the funky soldier costume pieces.
  9. Currently, my understanding is that villains get access to the regular epic pools, just by virtue of turning 50... whereas heroes have to spend 4 days to go from Heroic to villain, do the patron arc, then another 4 days to revert back. Major waste of time IMO, and to be honest I have certain toons I could never see switching to evil alignment, regardless of how much the patrol pools fit the concept.

There needs to be an equivalent arc on the heroic side - to wrest these powers from these villains - rather than having to switch to the other side. Either that, or provide a heroic equivalent with the same powers, but different power set names.
  10. I have a MA/Regen scrapper that I've put on the shelf for quite some time.
Just seemed way too clicky on the regen side to concentrate on what I should be doing - DPS.

I've been playing with Mids for a while, trying to get higher positional defenses, with not much success. Anyone have a good survivable build
for TFs and iTrials? Also, is it possible to get MoG to perma status, or fairly close?

What I've come up with so far:

  11. Out of the sets I've played:

    1. Ranged Damage - Ice. Has decent single target damage, but AE leaves something to be desired. And out of all the crappy snipe powers, this one is the worst - a long range hold with minimal damage - wow!

Plays more like a controller set than ranged damage, since everything is
    centered around "slow".

    2. Scrapper Primary - dual blades. Dual Blades has mediocre damage, and I've never been a fan of the combo system in this game.

    3. Brute Primary - TW. TW is just too frigging slow, by the time you've wound up your attack, your target is usually dead from someone else. PLus with the slow speed, hard to get rage up.

    4. Scrapper Secondary - Fire or Regen. Both have low survivability.
  12. To add to the OP, what I usually try to do to a character that I've leveled to 50 is to "IO" him out, usually with orange sets. Purple sets I can do without.

I've seen change after change to the game to reduce the number of IOs that you receive as drops:
    - introduction of worthless "recipes" and "powers" to the drop pool
    - countless nerfs to AE to prevent/lessen the rate of ticket farming
    - Overall drop in the rate of any kind of IO set recipe ( debatable, but that's my impression when killing large groups of mods vs. what it used to be )

Then they turn around and start selling the same items for real money.
P2W, in this scenario, means I have to shell out money to properly fill out my level 50 toons or spend much more time to accomplish the goal.

IMHO, the only items that should be sold on their market are costume/cosmetic items - not anything that impacts performance or leveling rate.

Already tried this - it helps some. But what I want is to selectively turn off
graphical effects. For example, when playing a squishie I dont want to be the one leading off with my incarnate nuke. I want to be able to tone down targeted AE effects, but not turn them off completely.

On the other hand, when playing my Fire/Rad, I kind of like seeing the hotfeet effect around my toon - you lose the effect when turning down max particle count.

The biggest issue I have is when playing melee on these trials, I am literally in the middle of all of the effects - it's pure sensory overload. I still have no clue what Black Swan looks like, never have seen much of her.
  14. Ok.... guess I'm the only one who has an issue with 1000 multi-colored flashbulbs constantly going off in his face.

The problem was bad before power customization... now, you can barely see what you're fighting most of the time.
  15. Often, when playing on trials or TFs, I'll find myself having to look away from the screen - the hodgepodge of graphical effects from 16+ players is just too much for my eyes to handle. I'll find myself getting headaches and/or dizziness after long play sessions. I'm aware you can turn down graphical effects globally, but I do want to have some feedback on what I am doing,
especially with holds when playing a troller.

The majority of the offending graphical effects are probably from offensive powers, although some are probably PBAE heals, buffs, and so on.

What I would like is a settings page listing every power in the game and three settings for Self vs Others:
    1. Full Display
    2. Low Display ( you can see the effect, but it has been significantly toned down )
    3. No Display
This would allow me to pick and choose which I want to see and which I dont.

Alternatively, If this is too much to implement, just have global settings for all powers for Full, Low, and No Display. ( still needs to be separated for Self vs Others )
  16. Yep, agree with most of these.

There are a lot of issues with MMs that I wish they would fix:

    1. Getting around pets in tight maps can be problematic. They tend to block
    doors and narrow passages.

    2. Getting to the target as a melee character can be a pain if there are a lot of pets blocking the way. I wish they'd put in AI, like they have in the latest starcraft, to get out of your way when you're trying to pass thru.
An alternative is to just remove collision detection for pets.

    3. The SOUNDS of the newer sets are grating. In Pocket D, I find myself searching for a corner where there is no MM. It annoys me that much.
I want an option to turn off all MM pet sounds.
  17. Hmm, my build focuses more on resists, whereas yours concentrates more on defense.

So, overall which contributes more to survivability?
  18. I've leveled my brute to level 39, and typically don't think about IO sets until they're close to max level. What I'm looking for is a maximum survivability build good for TFs and trials.

I scavenged part of this build from another post - but changed a couple of things ( like the addition of flight and hasten, which I like to have on most of my toons ). Any help would be appreciated.

  19. I recently started a stone melee/Inv brute. The biggest issue I have is with
aesthetics - I simply dont like the big stone hammers. If they would provide
alternative graphics, such as big stone fists, I think the set might become a bit more popular.

Same issue I have with stone armor - I dont like having my costume completely obscured by one particular power.
  20. Currently, when starting a league, the game reforms all teams and the "lock team" feature sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Getting people to use this feature is also problematic - most have no clue what you're talking about.

Sometimes you retain the league leader, sometimes not. I understand the game is effectively combining multiple leagues and deciding who should be leader is problematic.

    Suggestions:
If it is a PRIVATE league, retain the league layout regardless of the team lock settings. Also retain the leader.

If it is a PUBLIC league, retain the league leader from the largest of the combined leagues. Retain the teams from all of the leagues.

    Trial Timeout

I'm sure everyone's run into this - you spend 10 mins putting a league together, get it queued, then 1 or 2 people have gone afk delayng the start time another couple minutes. Multiiply that by 23 other people, and you've wasted a combined 46 mins of people's lives.

Just seems like this happens on 90% of the trials I join, and I hate waiting.

Suggestion: If you join a trial and fail to click the green button, you get timed out. You cannot join another trial for a given amount of time - I'll let the Devs decide the length of time. Just enough to discourage this behavior - you join a trial, you park your butt in your chair until it begins...
  22. One modification to this suggesion:
Have two mutually exclusive toggles - one enables knockback, the other does knockdown. Personally, I'd keep the knockdown one going.
