Heroic Arc for Patron Pools

Currently, my understanding is that villains get access to the regular epic pools, just by virtue of turning 50... whereas heroes have to spend 4 days to go from Heroic to villain, do the patron arc, then another 4 days to revert back. Major waste of time IMO, and to be honest I have certain toons I could never see switching to evil alignment, regardless of how much the patrol pools fit the concept.

There needs to be an equivalent arc on the heroic side - to wrest these powers from these villains - rather than having to switch to the other side. Either that, or provide a heroic equivalent with the same powers, but different power set names.

Agree too..and I am UTTERLY amazed that an entire two people can agree that hero side should get arcs too..without going into the usual whiny garbage about how the poor heroes should just get patron arcs free!

Go to the Isles, beat up Scorpion, steal his tech.
Go to the Isles, stop Mako tapping into more Leviathan power. Get it yourself.
Go to-

You get my point. Foiling the villain and getting power is HEROIC. Ergo, it should be possible. It doesn't take a huge stretch of logic to come up with decent stories for it.

First: agree with you wholeheartedly. Have been advocating this publicly for years.
Second:quick edit. Villains get access to Epic Pools at 35 just like everyone else, and closer to 6 days to come back to being a hero. You have to do the Hero Morality mission TWICE, if you want access to Hero Merits again.

Hero Merits are irrelevant to the discussion of Patron Pool Access.

Now then, it's nice to see someone suggesting arcs to unlock them instead of the for free garbage that always crops up. Personally I'd prefer to see full on Heroic Patron Sets with accompanying arcs.

I like the idea, always have, however I feel the notable gaps in Villain SF content should be addressed before something like this gets done.

The mission that sees you assaulting Portal Corp (I think it appears in all 4 Patron arcs) would be just perfect run from the Hero side view point.

As well as stopping Nemesis and his Mole Machines (give them back SOME xp please, that mission is just awful).

Protecting mole point brave..saving Akarist, not kidnapping him.

Devs made it clear they're not repeating the mistake of Patron Pool Powers again. This was addressed in a recent coffee talk when they chatted a bit about power pools.

Honestly, I agree. The're trying to make us not be overshadowed by NPCs anymore, and people frequently complained about that issue in the past. Going around saying we have to train under Manticore if we wanna be a pro at Archery like him, or become Black Scorpion's henchman in order to wield a high tech mace just invalidates that completely. They should just open Patron Pools to everyone just like they did with APPs and make 'em a free choice for both heroes and villains.
