Ahh, you got me. This is why i asked for your crit, you know your stuff mateThey are individual parts, i look for examples of what i want to draw and take reference from that. But i think i'm sticking too close to the reference, rather than adapting it to the situation in my piece. I mean, I'm trying to do it, i'm just not doing it right. Will do better
Thanks and appreciation as always.

I got this tablet and it seems fine so far. was the cheapest on the market but does what i need so far, but of course, i don't know what else the top one's do...

I think i'm in, 12 months tho, really?
edit, i did put OMG at the end there, but decided to replace it with...
BooBS!! -
Cheers PS, I do love the AC, amongst many others... hmm, maybe British Hero could be a car collector, then i can draw all my favourites with him, yay, '73 Mustang Mach 1, here we come!! And glad you like the toon too, painting him has inspired me to play him a bit more
Techbot, thanks for... that. Hehe, no seriously, glad you like it. I was a pencil/paper artist years ago, and i've also had some experience with colour shading and stuff from painting 25mm miniatures for a while so have had 'some' experience, but yeah, this is the first time i've painted from scratch digitally, and the tablet only arrived Tuesday, but i find it a lot easier to use than the mouse. Well, with the the mouse, i'm finding it easier to do a lot of the functions with the mouse, but draw on the pad.
Anyway, i was going to take a break for a few days after this piece, as my pen finger is actually numb at the moment, but couldn't resist... next piece's background is 50% done... -
Thanks for the comments guys, and appreciate the feedback. If i'm honest, i was dubious about my ice skin effects too. I'm hoping to do another Sub Zero Man picture soon, think i'll review my techniques for that one.
For now tho, here's a piece i've just finished of my Rad/DP Def, British Hero. This is my first all digital picture, and first use of my graphics pad, lots of firsts. Full size and alternative version (lights off) at my DA page, siggy click.
Hope you like it, cheers H.

More than doodles in my opinion Foo, Ultimo Girl looks ready for comic book glory! Nice work. I've really got to speed up my work, 3 days to draw half an alley so far, lol...

Comrade Hero and the Soviet Superwoman by the talented Justin Williams. Christmas/New Year commission gift. To be colored by Alsono Espinoza.
Another great piece of art, can't wait for the colour. -
It's finished, at last!!
K, as some of you know, i've been attempting my first ever digital colouring project over the holidays and had decided to use the great sketch of my Earth/Ice Dom, the Sub Zero Man that Lady Cyrsei kindly did. I'm thinking now it was not the easiest character to colour as a first attempt, but then, it probably wasn't the easiest to draw either, lol, something all tights would have been a lot easier... and quicker. Nevertheless, i've learn't so much colouring this character, my style has changed about 3 times, to the point where i had to redo the right hand and power effect twice! And my graphics pad hasn't arrived yet, so this is all mouse work... phew!
Thanks again for the original sketch Lady Cyrsei, and hope you don't mind that i changed a few things, namely that i removed the face mask, (loved those ice goggles you did tho, had to keep those), and i removed the stars on his tunic, which i had planned on replacing once i'd textured the robe, but then decided in the end to leave them off. (full size and alt background versions can be seen at my DA page, click sig for link.)
So here he is, the Sub Zero Man, Hope you like. Cheers H

Hiya Talley, and welcome to the best part of the CoH forum
I'm a little surprised by the way you said you have an anime style of art as if in a negative way. Personally I really like anime style art and from that sample you've posted above i'd say you do it very well, hope to see some more from you.
You've also just given me a great tip. I'm just entering into the world of digital colouring, infact, just doing my first colour now. That little swatch you've painted of the colours your blending with so they're easy to pick up with the colour picker is a great idea. Maybe everyone does this, but i've never seen it before... see, really is my first colouring attempt
As to submitting a character for you to have a muse over, i'm a real robot fan, a fact i'm finding a lot of artists aren't too keen on, lol. So i won't post any of them. I do have my newest character tho, The Sub Zero Man, earth/ice dom (hero). I was lucky enough to have a sketch done by Lady Cyrsei of his 'Iced' version, but i've never had a sketch of him de-iced, hope he's of interest
cheers H.

Quote:If you've got it hosted somewhere now (snapfish.com) you could just bypass their automated link and just right click on the image in snapfish, select 'copy image location' from the list, then in this forum type
i too, sent in my offering by email and facebook postings, as i can't seem to get forums to post my images...grrr!
still can't figure out what i'm doing wrong. posted pics on snapfish.com, cut and pasted appropriate url into the Insert Image toggle. still got the red "x". -
Quote:Wow, i'm getting cybernetic medieval knight of chaos! Great stuff, i'm a real fan of gothic art amongst other genre, and your stuff certainly has that feel to it. More pleaseI loved that guy!! Everything he painted was always happy hehe. Happy clouds, happy trees, happy lakes... I wonder what it would have been like if he tried to draw horror o.O
So...I mighta gotten distracted last night by a Dr. Q taskforce >< So here one for today instead

was just checking google for some more images of MODOK... and found this...
I've actually laughed my **** off

Absolutely stunning! I always know it's going to be a goodun' on your thread Caem, but when it's by the Hand, it's even better.

Very generous of you Foo, i'd love to 'win' a spot
Robostein is the leader of a team of sentient robots in the 41st century, mysteriously transported back to present day for an, as yet, unknown reason. (not copping out on the bio, just don't want to give the plot of my mini-comic away :P )
Bot/FF Mastermind (hero)

This is great! Good characters, great story, liking it a lot. I'm interested to know how you're staging the characters, are you using more than one account?
Look forward to reading some more of 'One of' the best CoH Inspired Comics EVER! -
This is great stuff PS. I can't really give any advice as i'm a total noob at digital colouring too, just working on my first piece myself, and it's taking fooooor evvvvvver... lol.
About the eye laser, i've seen people do it with like a blurred ring around the actual red of the eye, too make it look as tho it's glowing. Not sure how better to explain it...
Hope to see more mate -
Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion is a great example of the same character spanning different personas over different worlds and dimensions, of which Elric of Melnibone is one such persona, and possibly my favourite sci/fan character of all time, and also possibly mentioning his name is the only reason i brought this up in the first place
That is all, H.

Not sure who the OSI guy is, so had to make up his lower half. How are these?
-
robot ftw
. Also, top tip, colour the cyborg face gold/blue instead of blue/gold, then combined with that alpha piece you'll have a really protruding robot jaw/face thingy...
or switch the alpha face piece colours... if you want -
like it, the dark powers look good as sand
-
you're teetering on the verge of genius
I'm gonna go for it...
Robot H3NRi

yeah, i know what you're getting at Powerstream. You'd have to edge the white so it showed up on the white face, and then you might lose the glow effect it has on the dark side. One idea would be to do both in a really pastel colour, cyan maybe, or... i'm liking pink at the moment, lol
No seriously, Pink is the new cyber colour...

How often is this newsletter published? I'd be interested in submitting my webcomic on a #pages/issue basis, but i'm struggling to find time at the moment with other commitments. Monthly would be doable, weekly would be hard. Also, is this just distributed on the forum? My comic is screenshot based so probably can't be distributed outside this forum. There's a link to it below my sig if you'd like to have a look and see if it's suitable. Cheers H.
