Well i will watch it since I have it in there for now and I am not going to respec until later so I will update what I see I may just have to download hero stats and see if it picks it up
-
Quote:Ok the numbers kind of jive with what I experienced playing last night with the guy no worries I am going to respec him in a few more levels I can replace it with another set and add more defense :]Toggle, so once every 10 seconds it has the 5% chance to go off.
On average you'll get the buff once every 200 seconds.
I've got a CFBU in followup and another in focus, so I get the buff once a minute on average.
Pretty sure the general rule these days is that it's just not worth it to put in a toggle. -
Ok I have a db/inv I am playing in between my fie/sd I dropped it in there for now I may change my build around later (respec) but right now I am not 6 slotting the gussian anywhere in the build. Is it worth the placement long term in the build
I know it is 5% chance to proc does it follow that check every 10seconds for Invincibility or a different rule for checking the proc inside this power -
I hejtmane I am a scrapper as seen by my number of 50's that are scrapper I been playing for 54 months
I love damage i love to put out orange numbers
I am the biggest proponent in asking for kb protection for Dark armor/Fire Armor
/sr was my favorite secondary until shields. I grind out 50's in slow steady fashion do to my play time hours and weird play patterns. I started one /da even before stacking armors or IO's
I also leveled twice back in i3-i4 on my dm/da with 5 bars of debt yes I dinged twice at the debt cap i got there because I refuse to quit trying to beat a guys mission then hit a stride of bad luck and bad pugs and I refused to quit them (got Dark regen sucked back then 50 endurance to use it) -
It does not crit because it is a pseudo pet lighting rod should not crit when we get that for scrappers as well due to the pusedo pet summoning way they use the power
-
They where down I was gone during part of the down time cut of from the world at Cub Scout Camp. Nothing like walking every where; doing outdoor activities in temperatures ranging from 98-100 degree heat during the day.

True, I've played since like what.. Late I1? I remember things. It's just that I still do like PvPing more than PvEing.
I know devs won't do shxt about PvP fixing, making it better, or changing it back to how it was before, but I just can't love PvE that much. Hence, I like PvPing more.
That's why I've mentioned PvEwise, Elec/ is a lot better porting choice than EM/.
I was just saying I'd prefer EM/ for PvP, since BS, which is one of the greatests that I think, was ported.
edit: if you're wondering how I've been playing since late I1, I'll give you a hint. I'm on my fourth account. xP

I understand your frustration the issue is they keep trying to make pvp casual user friendly that is just not possible in this game. Every pvp game where I saw the casual user can contribute in pvp is in games with large pvp play because both sides have enough bad players to offset each other and a few that will always dominate but the large number of people and groups create a chance to be successful even for the not great builds because the chances are you have someone else on the other side just as borked as you. This is generally not the case in COX pvp it is almost entirely and elite group of pvp players.
I said when they went down that path that there biggest issue is the culture is not there and without the pvp culture how are you going to attract people looking for a good pvp game. That is where DAOC was successful there pve was good but the pvp cultural was there and it had a purpose and was part of the game from day one. -

I really don't think EM/ and Elec/ are a close match when it comes to PvP/burst damage. =x
Even if I just count the number from Mids, there is a big difference =/
I'm not saying we, Scrappers, should get EM/ over Elec/.
It's just that porting EM/ would be more logical PvPwise.
If we just think about PvE, Elec/ would outperform EM/ very easily, so, yeah, getting Elec/ is great. (It's just that I'm more of a PvPer than a PvEer.)

While COX PVP failed after the first shoe horned attempt in I4-I5 and when it failed to help draw players and had tons of empty zone it quickly fell to the back burner. Then the last pvp nerf which makes jump kick, flurry etc a better pick damage wise than a lot of your main attacks makes it down right screwed up and stupid.
So unlike games like DAOC use to be and now War Hammer PVP has never been a main focus and therefore will never get the attention you really like from sets. The pvp game is totally insignificant when it comes to COX. In fact big portions of the pvp crowd left over the decay issue and they have not bothered to fix that yet. It sits as a big pile of badly done pvp changes.
As far as I can tell the last thing they worry about is pvp and it always looks like it is an after thought. I am no anti pvp guy I use to play it all the time DAOC; even ran some in War Hammer but in those games it was designed from ground up day 1 release and it shows inn how fun it was and the meaning it has in the game.
I just do not understand why PVP people really expect any thing when you look at COX PVP history it is pretty darn underwhelming. -

Stalkers are now taking our best PvP set, which will no doubt end up being insanely amazing, and we get stuck with electricity? I think that maybe energy melee would be a much more fair trade, and quite frankly I have been wanting it on scrappers for a while now. Any opinions? Should we get Energy Melee instead? How do people feel about Stalker Broadsword? How do you feel about us getting electricity?
[/ QUOTE ]
Since I do not care about Energy melee and wanted elec Melee over it I am happy heck I rather have stone melee before Energy Melee
I will pass on stone armor for scrappers I think it would suck on scrappers -

I have no problems at all holding aggro on a full cap of mobs with my Fire/SD. FSC + Shield Charge to start the fight and everything is glued to me until it dies. Add in another FSC every 6 seconds and I don't even really need any taunt power though it would be nice to have one just to be able to more quickly react to adds coming in.
[/ QUOTE ]
Shiled also has a very strong taunt aura in Against all odds which is why it is so easy to hold agro as a shield scrapper -

Why split them?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, we really didn't spilt them. Romi couldn't take all the pain we were handing to him so he jumped off the platform breaking los right before he droped the 2nd time. That left two nictus behind. The reason we had an issue the first time when we just charged him was because we thought we could ignore the ambush. Wrong!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yea that was quite amusing when that happen -
[ QUOTE ]
Why would they replace conserve power? If they do it won't happen anytime soon.
Either go dm or go aid self with a couple of interrupt reductions.
[/ QUOTE ]
You could maybe skip stamina 2 conserve power and power sink haha not that I advise it but with 3 slotting you can have power sink up like every 30 seconds -
[ QUOTE ]
Which server are you guys going to do it on? Test?
[/ QUOTE ]
yes we run on test and if you can make it always loads of fun -
[ QUOTE ]
Posted this in Player Q's forum, but also thought I'd put it here in case anyone might know.
For those of you familiar with this strategy, on the final mish of the ITF, it used to be possible to pull Romulus away from the Nictus by aggroing him immediately after the cutscene ended and then running back, leading him away from the Nictus.
On the last 3 ITF's I ran, I was unable to do it, and I don't know if I was just really off my game, or if there was a fix to prevent this from happening. Anyone know?
[/ QUOTE ]
We split him on the all scrapper itf we try a bum rush just to see if we could and that started off well and ended badly so we regrouped and split them we had one scrapper tank the nictus and the rest destroyed Romulus. We pulled them apart after the fact as well. -

The key to high DPS is to use high Damage Per Activation powers. Divide the damage by the activation time, and use the ones that come out on top. It doesn't matter how long or short the actual activation is (within reason... you do want some mobility), only how much damage per second of activation time.
For Martial Arts, your best DPA attacks (starting at the top) are: Storm Kick, Crane Kick, Eagles Claw, and Crippling Axe Kick. You want to use those as much as possible, ideally only those. Since Crane Kick has knockback rather than knockdown, you'll also want to skip using it unless the target is against a wall or has -KB applied... you'll lose too much DPS chasing things around. And of course you're limited by recharge... for instance, you can't do Storm -> Eagle -> Storm -> Crippling -> (repeat) unless you have 225% recharge in Storm Kick, because you can't get Storm Kick to recharge fully during Crippling Axe Kick's (or Crane Kick's) animation. That's possible but expensive... a more realistic chain for leveling up would be Storm -> Eagle -> Storm -> Crippling -> (other), with (other) being either Crane Kick (if KB isn't a problem), Dragon's Tail (if multiple mobs are in melee range), Cobra Strike (if you need mitigation), or Thunder Kick (if none of the others apply).
Note that the real activation times of powers are not what is listed in game or in Mids'... look up "Arcanatime" in the forums if you want the details, but in general due to how the server processes attacks there's a small delay added. That means you'll want to look up the real activation times if you want to plan out enough recharge for a specific chain. Or calculate them yourself... the formula is (thanks Arcanaville... you're the only one obsessive enough to calculate something like this):
Real activation time = (RoundUp(Listed time / 0.132) + 1) * 0.132
Also, PvP is totally different. Powers have different damage values in PvP, and the focus is not on attack chains but rather burst damage. In PvP, you're pretty much going to be using Eagles Claw, Crane Kick, and Crippling Axe Kick and ignoring the rest unless you somehow get into a stand up fight instead of a hit and run match.

SK - CK - SK - CAK is the best MA DPS chain as far as I know. EC shouldn't be used at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Eagle Claw has a slightly higher DPA than CAK, and it is easier to get enough recharge to use it. It also crits more often and has a mag 3 stun. Why not use it?
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks that helps me when I am looking at werners spreadsheet -
[ QUOTE ]
If you build smart, you can get the defense into the 25% to all range with little sacrifice.
You don't need both conserve power and power sink, personally I only use power sink and sap every group I hit.
I have both an em/elec and a dm/elec. The dm is definitely more survivable at higher levels.
I haven't looked at claws in a while, so I will try and take a peak for a build.
[/ QUOTE ]
I figured Katana would do pretty darn good with 25% defense then stack DA you can soft cap melee
Aidself could help if you can get some solid defense in the build -
[ QUOTE ]
Any able to throw a claw/Elec Armor build with slotting? I am trying to figure out a build plan but I am unfamiliar with the how elec armor should be built.
[/ QUOTE ]
No experience but looking at the set it is a pure resistance set has no heal or defense to stack pure defense does fine most sets have a layered approach (a few exceptions).
Elec would do well with dm and a siphon life but it is pretty straight forward resistance some damage and end drain and nothing else -
[ QUOTE ]
Kat is one of the top sets overall, and not mentioned much nowadays. Most threads are spines (farming) or fire ('the new hotness!') or dm (av solo).
SR is a late bloomer, and while divine avalanche will help with melee, it's rough for a new player.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well worth the ride imo
Then again my first 50 was katana/sr yes katana is a good set -

In my OP I wrote:[ QUOTE ]
I also realize that I could just get a Rectified Reticle IO and boost my Perception to acceptible levels, but the Guassian's defense bonuses are soooo good.
[/ QUOTE ]
Clearly I deserved a TL;DR or two
[ QUOTE ]
I've been thinking that Focussed Accuracy seems rather overpriced myself. It doesn't seem to me that it should cost any more End than Tactics for what it does.
[/ QUOTE ]
That was my thinking as well. Focused Accuracy and Targeting Drone seem to be equivalent but for the animation and the other powers in the set. I went with TD because I don't like the long recharge time of Conserve Power, whereas Web Grenade was a decent IO mule. I was stunned to realize that Targeting Drone took as much End as Tactics plus Maneuvers combined.
If I drop Targeting Drone for Tactics this will be my 7th (out of 9) level 50 character without Ancillary Power Pools.
[/ QUOTE ]
In todays IO world outside a few powers or concept reasons you are better off skipping the Epic Pool IMO -
you could also add the 20% Perception increase by adding the rectified Unique IO in any of your tohit powers
-
Not since back in I3 (they nerfed it in I4/I5 time frame)
I used it to agro and stand there watching mobs wail at me haha fun stuff there was no time limit so as long as I had endurance I was gold -
On my spines/da I used to run lets see
Death Shroud
Quills
Acro
OG
DE
Obsidian
Murky Cloud
Tough
Weave
All on standard SO's (IO's did not exist) -

I was actully hoping for Electric Melee. I've already begun purchasing the IOs for my new Elec/DA scrapper
[/ QUOTE ]
Surprise surprise you going elec melee/da
I am making a elec/shield period lighting rod + shield charge just for fun and re did my fire/sd to start farming more -
[ QUOTE ]
