Any enemy over level 10 can drop one. They do not come from anywhere else, you can't buy them with tickets or merits, they don't come as random rolls either.

Agreed. I was only providing ancedotal evidence that they can drop from a normal enemy in a normal mission. Unfortunately that is my only experience with respec recipes. I've only ever found the one.
I didn't know you could lose the crafting of the respec if you had a free respec sitting on the character. Boy, that would bite lol.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually I don't believe it's possible to craft a respec recipe if you have a freebie available. For the one I just sold, I saw a message on the respec that said I couldn't use it because of a freespec. I also don't think it was available to craft when I was at a crafting station. -
I'm a very willing filler. I do get annoyed with one thing - when I get asked "can you fill for a sec?" and it becomes 5 minutes. Please provide a reasonable guess for how long it will take. If I'm the first filler and you're looking for 7, that's not a time to ask to fill for a sec. Yesterday someone asked me to "fill for a sec" then they proceeded to set the Atta map in MA. That was far more than a sec!

According to Paragonwiki:
"As of Issue 11 characters are now able to earn Respec Recipes as rare drops from the enemy defeat recipe pools which, upon crafting the recipe, the character will receive a Free Respec as long as that character currently has no Free Respecs."
Are respec recipes like purple drops (i.e., they have a 1/5000 chance in dropping)? Or are all those respec recipes sold at WW the result of Respec TF completions in Terra Volta?

You can either play until one drops, or buy one from WW, they go for anywhere from 10-30 million, averaging around 20.

You haven't priced these lately have you? I just sold one for 80M, which when I checked, was the lowest of the last 5 transactions (went up to 83ish M). I'm talking hero market here. I haven't priced them vill side lately. -
3 incongruous facts:
1) I don't like playing my tank
2) I don't particularly like teaming with tanks
3) I'm very much looking forwarding to this event so I can play my tank and team with other tanks
Go figger... -

Make it a sapper-predominant mish with a few Hercules and Zeus Titans in there just to shake things up. The Hercs might combine, and nothing disrupts a player's day like getting drilled with Missile Swarm. And make Moderator8 the end boss.
Come on, you know you want to do it.

Oh, and for the story part - you are infiltrating the much-loathed-by-"metahumans" sapper training base trying to take out the current class.
[/ QUOTE ]
In all seriousness, I have a elec/elec blaster that I made a thoughtful attempt at backstory for (I don't normally bother). He's a former Malta sapper that rebelled. In my as-yet-unwritten arc to tell his story, I have envisioned a mission of a sapper training camp. It really is too bad that I'm actually fearful of making this story because of all the MA repercussions for "farming". -
I sure hope fixing this is a priority (doesn't appear to be). Additionally, everyone that has summoned Amy since the bug was introduced should get reimbursed when fixed. Reimbursed with at least the number of Amys they tried to use, perhaps even give back a full set of 5.
More than anything, this is one of those bugs that I would be humiliated about if I were on the dev staff. She was working just fine, eventually became hostile, no warning has been given to the players about using her and lord knows when this will get fixed. Terrible. -
For teaming, Brutes provide a great basis for taking buffs. If you happen to get a kin on a team - Scrap vs Brute might still be close. If you happen to get 2 kins, then the Brute becomes the most destructive force in the game.
I hit my damage cap for the first time on a Brute in a recent Rikti ship raid, with all the AMs and Fulcrums it was something to behold.
I think you can have interesting debates about Tanks vs Brutes vs Scrapper. That is until teammate buffs enter the picture, then the Brute pulls ahead. -

Players still make the same amount of Infamy/Influence. That money WILL go somewhere. Players won't simply let it sit idle. It's a competition to buy items. Some people will simply buy more purples with their money. Some will not.

I suppose this is the part I don't buy. One of those slices of pie (and I have been exposed to pie charts in my experience, thx for link tho) is reserves. I expect it to be the exception, not that rule, that someone's behavior is to spend precisely what they own.
In the end that point is just mental, uh, self pleasuring. I doubt we'll ever get to see who's wrong or right by seeing purple drop rates change. -

And btw purple prices are going crazy,The drop rate needs to be adjusted.
[/ QUOTE ]
You do realize that causing purples to drop more would cause EVERY other item to increase in price.... right?
[/ QUOTE ]
Please provide the economic concept and/or a real life analogue that gives that any chance of being a credible statement at all .
[/ QUOTE ]
Please dont get started on that crap here! It will just be another thread to jump way the hell off topic and end in a flame war like hundreds of others in the past weeks.

"That crap"??? A poster made a statement that doesn't, at first glance, seem plausible. I asked, like another poster did, for the basis on which the statement was made. This is all what happens on Internet forums. My wording was unneccesarily caustic, I do confess and for that I do apologize. However, the concept of how the decrease in cost of luxury items can cause every other item to increase is not a concept I am familiar with. -

Edit to add - Purples do indeed still drop sub level 50. Got one the other day on a level 46 fighting level 48s. If your objective is purely to get purples, I'd save a friendly (I'll use that "f" word intead of the other) mission at level 48 and run it at difficulty 2. The inf/prestige rewards will be minimal, but doing this will increase the number of purple rolls in a given time period. -
BG+SP + Provoke means, when Lord Recluse killed me last night, I had to scratch my head to remember my last death.
He was a lot of fun to fight, being an actual challenge. I had to actually devise a specific strategy for him, rather than my generic boss/EB tactic of immob> provoke> heal> rinse> repeat. -
I just started getting reaquainted with my Ninja/PD.
I mean no offense whatsoever, but there are some serious issues with that build.
6-slotting Heal in Nullify Pain??? 3 slot it with Heals and use other slots for recharge and/or endurance.
4-slotting Heal in Sooth??? 3 slot for heals with an endurance. Or 2 Heal, 1 end, 1 heal/end.
Anguishing Cry would be better served with 3 recharges and an accuracy or 2. Frankenslot some Accurate Def Debuff sets, they're not expensive. Or go for set bonuses, so just make sure you max out recharge. If you're looking to boost damage, this is your key.
The World of Pain slotting is just stunning. Three recharges, three resist buffs (or equivalent frankenslot)
Painbringer needs 3 recharges, then start thinking about whether you want Heals or End. Or frankenslot or use sets, just make sure you get your 95% recharge. Maxing recharge is another key item to upping the damage.
With Tough and Weave, I assume you're going for a tankermind build. However, there's no Provoke. If you don't take Provoke, those 3 Fighting pool powers are basically worthless. You're not a tankermind without Provoke.
6-slotting end mods in Stamina??? 3 slot, or maybe 4 if the 4th is the proc.
4-slotting immob in Soul Tentacles? Immob IOs are cheap, find a set you like.
Again, no offense, but I get a sense you don't get Enhancement Diversification. More than 3 slots of a given enhancement type get extremely limited. There may be occasions someone would want to do that, but I don't see why you would. -
I'm going crazy waiting for Starcraft 2 to come out. Judging from what I just found while googling for release dates, I'm going to be going crazy for a while more.

Considering the chatter in most groups I wouldn't want my child anywhere near any game. YMMV. My teens play as they feel the desire but isn't time with freeart or in a garden better spent with a 7 year old? To each their own but I simply cannot imagine the ops request.
No offense.
Edited to expand and try to not come off condescending. There are plenty of things for children to do to learn teamwork and responsibility that arent remotely related to gaming.I think its a good idea for children to learn skills in the "real" world before venturing into a virtual one. If she/he is already in a soccer team or involved in Scouts they are learning teamwork. If you take time to read a chapter of a book nightly she//he will learn to read better and also have better comprehension. Takes all of 15 minutes to cuddle up and read a chapter of "The Mouse and the Motorcycle", "Stuart Little" or "The Tale of Despereaux". That time spent with YOU will better benefit the young child than any group in a virtual world. Just my 2 cents. Again YMMV.
Good luck finding that group if thats the goal!
The JunieB. series is also great for the 7 year old age bracket.

The OP is pretty specific in looking for an SG. If they wanted someone to offer unsolicited parenting advice, I'm sure they'd visit www.busybody.that.cant.mind.their.own.business.and .knows.how.to.raise.YOUR.child.com -
This isn't really a "powers" myth, but it amused me to no end, so I'll share.
I don't remember the specifics, but I was on a team with a fire/kin who was talking about how they moved from farm map A to farm map B (names removed to protect the (not-so) innocent). When I asked why the answer was "All of the good drops have been farmed out of it, so I moved on". I had no response at all, it was like a mag 30 stun hit me behind the keyboard. -
From what I underand, it was simply a code-word that caught on. Of course, once such a code gets general acceptance, it stands out more than using the word "farm".
-
What is the Magic Man arc?
My nomination is Wheel of Destruction - level 20-25 hero arc. Not just because it ends with the best mission to get the Banisher badge, but because all the BP masks are so colorful and purty. -

I'm tired of hearing from folks who are leaving the game because the devs are trying to make the game challenging, and fun with limited exploitation. So many people are screaming "No Fair!" because their ability to exploit the game is being curtailed. Other MMO's do pretty much the same thing. They want to reduce the ease at which players exploit the game. Players think it's their right to "play the game the way they want to" even though it hurts others. And, yes, farming excessively does hurt others.... how do you think RMT'ers get their influence/infamy? They exploit the game... getting salvage, recipes, etc.. sell them for lots of influence.. then sell that influence for real money. And there are plenty of players who buy the influence which is against EULA. If there weren't customers for it, they'd soon go out of business. I think those who complain the most should go to another game... and find something to moan about there. So you folks who love to farm... find a game where farming IS the game... and farm to your hearts' content. Or perhaps, stick around here and play the game the way it is intended to play. (What a novel idea.)

That poster doesn't only not understand the senitment of the OP, s/he doesn't "get it" in the big sense either.
It's a small percent (if at all) that are saying "you've hurt my ability to farm". What most are up in arms about, and I put myself in this camp, is in reaction to the Draconian measures being used. I'm not going detail them for the 1000th time.
Also, your naivete is adorable that you think the measures brought down from above are slowing down RMTers in the least bit. Just like every other anti-farming measure ever put in place, the real farmers (not just RMT farmers mind you) shrug this off and keep on doing what they do. -

Then I'm giving everything away in a manner to be determined later.

I'm not giving anything away, it's going to be scorched Earth for me when the time comes (that time is not quite yet). My finger is on the trigger though, I'm waiting to see if reparations are made to folks with deleted level pacted chars, at the very least.
I'll probably announce in Atlas and Global channels all purples and high value uniques and other sets as I delete them one-by-one. -
I have high level, yet poor-ish heros on Justice. If prior offers above don't work out for you, feel free to contact me @hedgefund
or

You want to talk "best"? Load up on buffs/debuffs. Solid control too. Me, I'd go 1-2 kins and 6-7 sets with at least 22% Resistance debuff. The rest is details.
No "best" team would have two tanks, that's for sure. I wouldn't even have one on my "best" team. -
Once I get a 20 oz coffee poured and my fast twitch muscles are warmed up, my favorite is a Kin/Sonic defender.
Why? Because it's a combo that will transform any team into a steamrolling juggernaut. If it was already a steamrolling juggernaut, it would become steamrollerer.
To the damage cap and beyond! -
I love Portland, ME. Boston's a bit too far for a lunch AND/or martinis but I do get up there occasionally but I always head up a few times per summer.
They have a good microbrew scene there, if you're into that kinda thing. -
Few quick thoughts:
I'd take Maneuvers at a lower level so you can be in the business of soft-capping a team early. Switch with Moon Beam or take Gloom later. Also, max out Def on Maneuvers.
I wouldn't worry about to-hit debuffs in Dark Blasts. Endurance Reductions would be a better bet.
I also wouldn't worry about an immob in TT. A range (or 2) would do you more good. TT has a short range, 40 feet, compared to Nightfall's 60.
In Repulsion I would swap the stun for damage.
I know you're not showing the build for IO sets, but Force Bolt is a good home for 4 pieces of Kinetic Crash, for 3 points of kb protection.
If you take Tactics early, you can slot your blasts with 1 Accuracy and be at 95% final chance to-hit against most of the game.
Three slots for Recall Friend is kind of odd, unless you're preparing to slot in Blessing the Zephyr for def bonuses.
I think you'll get more use from Temp Invulnerability than Conserve Power. You can slot the Res/Def IO eventually to boost your personal Def. -
Torn between Blaster and Defender?
There's an easy way to solve that - choose Corrupter!
