That's just the way I see it. Inherent fitness really shouldn't have an effect on slotting aside from "zomg I have a few extra powers I won't be able to slot!"
Alpha choice can change how your character works. With the change to fitness, we need to think big picture.

My Elec/WP Brute picked up Gloom, Dark Oblit, and Darkest Night as his 3 new choices. I took slots from his resist shields and dropped them into my new powers. In turn I went with the Cardiac Boost to balance out the loss in resistances.

My Stone Melee/Energy Aura, dipped into the medicine, which was much needed. His attacks are slotted with Kin Combats to softcap his S/L, I took the extra Acc IO to slot out Aid Self. Again I went with Nerve to make up for the Acc loss and will upgrade to the Acc/Def T2 version. This will help softcap Neg Nrg.

Those are just two of my toons that had some huge changes with this issue.
  2. The current respec system is outdated, it should have been updated when i9 hit with inventions. The old system was fine, because it was quick and easy to replace SOs. A new system is needed to reflect our current invention system. Plain and simple its a QoL feature long overdue.
  3. W/ taunt it can hold aggro well enough, but there is an autohit nictus during the final fight on the ITF which will drive you nuts. Softcapped is the best course of action when IOing, whats your primary and post your final build. We can be more helpful w/ more info
  4. Keep a clock near your comp?
  5. Indeed willpower doesn't need Energy Mastery, w/ rage you don't need any more +tohit either. Personally grabbing Soul Mastery on my Willpower toons with i19 goes live. An extra AoE attack plus Darkest Night, which synergies great with Willpower.

    Few quick notes.

    1) TF should be slotted for damage, its one of two of your heavy hitters.
    2) Shifter Procs can save being underslotted in certain areas as will Incarnate Cardiac boost.
    3) SR while being awesome softcapped, also doesn't need elude in the build at that point.
    4) Layered resistances help for those few hits that do go through. So Tough helps quite a bit since a majority of powers deal lethal/smashing.
    5) Aid Self while not required helps quite a bit since you're Def, you have time to heal and not get hit. Plus can save you from those times a large alpha hits you.
    6) The damage bonus is nice, but you're an EM Brute. If damage is a problem, you're in trouble.

Granted the build is cheaper then what I posted. SR on a budget build can't really see its full potential IMO. It's worth rolling a farmer toon and grinding for really.
  7. Well another reason was Conserve because its non Fitness build. After i19, I plan to change, I just haven't decided what I wanted yet. I don't play this toon very often. I've considered Fire, but my other 3 controllers already have Fire. Regardless of it being probably the best APP for controllers. I wanted something with a different flavor.
  8. I went with Primal on mine, I really like Powerboost + EMP. I haven't redone him for i19 yet so I may change it myself.
  9. I would go mental, I have 35 50s and would never be able to choose which one I'd take incarnate. My main badger is an Elec/WP Brute or my namesake an Arch/TA cor or my Dom a Mind/Nrg. So many choices lol

  12. My SG did a meet and greet a while back before I joined them. I know of a few people who met in game and are now married. One couple I know met on EverQuest, think I've only seen one in-game wedding though.

  14. Worst brute build?

I know a Brute who shall remain nameless that is a Fire Melee/Dark Armor. He has 4 attacks, yes just four, the first four choices. o.O SS, SJ, Teleport and the full medicine pool........ On top of that he believes this brute is epic powerful LOL

The unofficial is good enough for basic slotting, better then blinding redoing your toons. Not sure if the update will be up within the week the issue releases. I'm sure they will want to update it with Incarnate slots as well..... I hope

    Primary for SR?

/SR can synergy with several sets quite well. It has the most synergy with Dark Melee, which can be done on Scrappers, Brutes, and Stalkers. The self heal and end recovery power helps the fact /SR can be an end hog.

Personally I have a softcapped EM/SR Brute which I enjoy quite a bit. The long recharge of EMs attacks is helped by /SRs Quick Reflexes. Being a defense set, it helps avoid getting hurt while in those long attack animations.

Just pick your favorite Melee set or a set you've never played, thats how I ended up with mine. lol

But to answer your top 3 question:
    1: Dark Melee (Most Synergy)
2: EM or KM or SM
    3: Elec for its AoE
  18. The panacea proc is decent if you're an end hog and don't have many slots for shifter procs. It gives some hp and 7.5 points of endurance if it fires off. Its not worth slotting into CA though.
  19. It will fire off on its target last I checked, so it would help your enemy. The procs best in stamina type powers.

I haven't checked recently, but you might want to try Energy Manipulator: Chance for Stun instead. I used to use it to stun players w/ speed boost.
  20. The -recharge from Granite will affect your attack chain which in turn will slightly affect generation. Its part of what you pay for all you're resist/def, I wouldn't worry though. Getting attacked generates fury as well, regardless of if the attack lands or not. The only bad mix I can see that would hurt Fury is EM/Stone. The long animation/recharge of attacks plus the -recharge from Granite. You'll hit hard and be tough as nails, but its all a part of the trade.

I'm not arguing that they don't make a difference, I'm saying its not the deciding factor. Many times while tanking an RSF with my brutes, I don't even need to pop insp. It all comes down to build and your team.

Oranges are hardly what makes the difference with wipes when it comes to playing a Brute. Build, Base resist/def, IO sets, and skill play much greater role then inspirations. With the task in question being the RSF, doubtful a couple of oranges alone will be the savior.

Both purps and oranges are good to bring, Posi's debuffs can floor a persons defense right through the debuff resist.

Brutes on RSF runs are nothing more then a distraction so the team can target Numina, Sister, and Posi. Once you got those Heroes down, the rest of the SF is a cake walk. Multiple sturdy brutes can help, but it depends on the build. Brutes with a high hp, fast self heal, decent regen, make for good RSF leads.
