Yup was indeed 32:54 - would have been a load quicker too if my machine wasn't having virtual memory problems - that and the we had to take out about 6 thousand security chiefs.

Maybe Princey will post the pic when he gets outta my fridge (eating my foodz).

    City of Monopoly

I agree with the sentiment of ‘A market with plenty of supply is a healthy market’ – and for a long time I put everything up for 5 inf and took whatever would sell. However after many months of this I noticed that much of the ‘stuff’ I was selling could be over 10,000% more should I need to ‘buy it back’ as required.

The sad truth is that while many of us want to help out others with ‘small’ asking prices with a view to good community social intention there is a very low percentage of players who are ‘flipping’ prices (i.e. deliberately buying all of one particular item then immediately listing it with a much higher price).

In theory there is nothing wrong with this activity as the buyers agree to this new price before their purchase is finalised however in practice it stinks of the worst parts of a greedy capitalist – someone who doesn’t ‘create’ anything apart from massive wealth for themselves on the back of good intension from a socially aware player.

What is slightly thematically frustrating is that ‘stuff’ sold in stores seems to be immediately destroyed – sure you get inf for it but what happens to the item then?
If there is a fixed selling price at stores then shouldn’t there be a fixed buying price at the same stores? Not everything we buy in the real world is auctioned or has a negotiable price. Maybe these stores should have their own ‘supply database’ separate from the ‘open markets’ of the AH and BM.

To be brutally honest I’m losing respect for the AH & BM as a fair way of trading, the best way I’ve found of helping out friends and team-mates is if I get a decent drop to offer it to anyone who needs it. If I need something special I buy it with reward merits, as much as i13 mucked up a lot of stuff, merits remain a better system in my opinion purely due to the ‘fixed price’ nature of obtaining an item.

We went from not having an official in-game economy to having an overly complicated one that has at least 3 methods which don’t fully integrate with one another. I’m sure there are many ways of explaining why this is so however in my opinion it doesn’t enhance CoX’s once loved selling point to the casual MMOer or indeed to the those who are trialling the game.

    PFF

    Only started to read this thread then had this idea - sorry if it's already been suggested;

While a player is using PFF in pvp their 'speed' is reduced to one quarter (over and above suppression). They will still benefit from the 'safe' bubble but will find it hard to run away. Something akin to Granite Armour speed debuff?

keep running TF,s at speed and they will not be worth doing ,dev,s will say they are getting easy and cut the merits

    [/ QUOTE ]

That won't happen unless they come up with an ultimate TF. We're fast because we're all quite experienced and we've done the TF dozens of times. That's pretty much it. And this record can be beated easily.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some people like to role-play, others enjoy to setup SGs and other communities, there are also some people who farm and/or powerlevel, then there's the folk who like to play the game at their own pace. I'd be surprised if there are folk out there who 'sit' in only one of these groups. Me, I've done a little of all and right now I enjoy finding that 'perfect' teaming experience and don't apologise for enjoying the challenge of speed running TFs.

N.B. - My first successful STF took over 6 hours, as far as the merits go - I've done my bit........never again you hear - NEVER AGAIN!
  9. Gonna go for a STF speed run at some point? Did an all fire/rad one a few months ago, would be good to hear how quick an expert (and well practiced) team of fire/rads can do this.

This is generally an SG coalition run thang, there are rarely times where we don't have 8 'speedsters' ready to rock, would be great to have some competition though.

Also what ever happened to the underwater zone idea?

Do we know yet if it's a WR?

    WooT! btw tbh

<edit> - Two whole missions without a tank too!

    Super team

I say 6 Fire/Rad corruptors and 2 brutes would work quite well - in 'normal' missions you could try splitting into two sub teams meeting up only for AM. This might make killing groups more efficent and thus more xp/sec. If this wasn't the case it would rock as a full team, with each brute taking their turn for the alpha and waiting for the rad heals before going into the next group.

Rad debuffs are great but rad's best weapon is AM, you don't have to target friendlies to apply it and it effects many attributes. If there is time to slap on debuffs, in 'regular' teaming, then I suspect that you're not at your optimum speed.

Binding keys to target_custom_next <foe boss name> will also be a good tool to employ to save 'targeting time'.

    *Number Crunch*

You thought about duoing with a friend? If you both have Emp/Arch I'm pretty sure you can easily get perma AB ect.....

Or organise a superteam of Emp/Archs - will be proper boring till you get yer nukes but when you do the multiple forts, CMs and perma AB would be pretty uber. Could respec at 32 and take out your RAs :-)

Wouldn't mind Stirga as it's a zone i don't normally make use of.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Striga sounds good as:
    * wedding ring temp
    * unlock Hess TF
    * get us the slayer and silver bullet badges (for Atlas Medallion)

    All good stuff

Just a shame that the contacts tend to give 3 or 4 of the missions out in random order, so makes it harder to share mission completion and get the arc finished for all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Did a Fire/Rad team a couple of years ago - is defo the most fun I had. One warning however with min level zones is that some SKs won't be able to enter and thus take part. Also radio 'missions to 50' might get a tad boring, remember spice is the variety of life (Curry FTW).

EDIT - Read at the start of the thread that you want to do an all fire/rad STF - tried it 3 months back and was very quick.......until Lord Recluse - very frustrating, never seen GW's lights go out so quick too.
  20. Guffy

    any advice?

Errr.....not sure it's the 'same' I find that IR is much less forgiving with the more subtle movements....or is it just me?

    Storm/?

    [ QUOTE ]
My experience with Stormies is all on troller side. In my mind, Storm just works best when paired with immobs, extra stuns, knockdowns, holds, etc. My Earth/Storm is, hands down the very best Stormie I've played so far. I was hoping you guys convince me playing a Defender this time.

Any sweet combos you'd recommend? Thanks.

    Edit: PvE wise

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmmmmm....a defender you say? Let me think....

....I got it! How about you have the support set as a secondry set and change it to something uber like say....errrr....Rad, then combine that with an uber primary say....errrr....Fire.

In short the answer is simple - Fire/Rad trolley!
  22. Dark/Sonic 2
    Cold/Sonic 3

Cos ice tanks are fun to play no mater what your AT is
  23. Guffy

    any advice?

I normally have SJ on my toons, for me it's the most fun travel power, but IR seems to be far too 'jerky' and clumsy to use especially when you're not expecting it.
  24. Say it isn't so, TFs and trials are some of the best parts of this game - who doesn't want more of them (or even fixes to the broken ones)
  25. Guffy

    Duo advice?

    OK - I'll bite first.

    Fire/Rad times two.
