  1. Here's my own contribution. Nobody else interested in reviving this?

    The Instrument
  2. These are all made of 100% virgin grade awesome. I especially love Answering the Bell. It's always cool when someone shows the *other* side of hero work.
  3. I really enjoyed the color palette based costume contest we had the last few months, but it seems to have died out. So, in the spirit of that, and in a thinly veiled attempt to plug my awesome supergroup, the Iron Maidens, I'm going to start up a new one!

    Here are the rules:

    1: Timeframe
The contest will be biweekly, starting today and with each subsequent period ending on a Sunday. These periods will be in between the Iron Maidens biweekly meetings. To clarify, this first one will accept entries until the 26th. I'll put up a new one then, and every two weeks after.

    2: Qualifying entries
Each person may make one qualifying entry. This entry will consist of one or more screen shots of the costume entered, with at least one being from the front, one from the back, and one from the side. Any more than this are optional but are encouraged, including action shots and collage images. The costume may contain any pieces the character has access to, including those others may not be able to use, but costume colors must be limited exclusively to those in the palette. ALL the colors in the palette must be used at least once. Hair and skin colors may be excluded at the entrant's option from palette requirements, but makeup or tattoos if used must be from the palette. Images should be hosted by the submitter, and access to them should be made here.

    3: Judging
Images will be judged at each Iron Maidens meeting. Each member of the group present will have one vote. Each group leader will have two votes, which may not both be cast for the same entry. The three entries with the most total votes will each win a fabulous noprize! Entries made by myself or any other Iron Maidens will not be eligible to win, but will still be available for public viewing. Additional prizes will be considered.

To begin the new contest, I present you with the first palette, garnered with I hope no legal issues from the website www.colorhunter.com :

  4. [*] SG/VG Name: The Iron Maidens
    [*] Public relations: http://ironmaidens.guildportal.com
[*] Peak teaming hours: Usually in the mornings.
[*] Amount of PvP: Nothing dedicated.
[*] Amount of Powerleveling: Nothing organized.
[*] Amount of Drama: Group is very friendly and tolerant, there is really very little drama.
[*] Size of Base: Basic pad, two teleporter rooms, one infirmary and one workshop.
[*] Requirements: A mature attitude and a female character. While the majority of our members are RL females, the requirement is only for characters.
[*] Other: We have regular meetings, scheduled events and try to team up with eachother whenever we can. Reasonable attendance is expected.
[*] Guild Description: The Iron Maidens are a group of fun-loving and friendly heroines out to save the world. We emphasize a low-pressure community atmosphere where our members can find sisters to help with their missions or just share a conversation. The Maidens are exclusively female, but we accept any heroine who displays a reasonable level of dedication and maturity regardless of security level or powers.
[*] Leader or Recruiting Officers: The Grower (@Grower)
    [*] Voice chat: No.
[*] Preferred Method of contact: A global message or a message on Guildportal are the most reliable ways to contact me, but I check all communications somewhat regularly.
  5. Hm... I suppose it is a little dim isn't it? The costume creator lighting is not favorable to dark colors. Try this one?

    Nio Brighter
  6. I haven't had the time to complete anything with work, and some people might be starting school again soon. Perhaps it's time to extend the deadline a bit so we've got more time?
  7. I would enter again this time, but I simply don't have time to whip anything up. Hoping I'll have more time next round.
  8. Well, I stayed up stupidly late to get it done by the deadline but here she is:

    Fahren!
  9. Adjunct, using the pallete Purple Passion

My entry here is actually an existing character, so I'm cheating slightly. She had not been used in a while and needed an update. The pallete is highlighted. I'm having trouble taking action shots via Linux/Wine and it's late so I'm leaving it with this, but I can fetch more screens if necessary.
  10. The zone is beautiful, and very immersive. I love the attention to small details, and the use of the contextual dialog thing to make the NPCs talk different based on your gender adds a little extra flair. I hope that is used a lot more. My only criticism is that roman female names feminized the family name as well, so Sexta Leonitus would be Sexta Leonita, wife of Mr. Leonitus. Naturally this is an extremely minor criticism and probably way too much trouble vs. reward to change. I REALLY love the zone.

    *Possible spoilers*
The TF is epic. Freakin' awesome. I have never been on a TF that felt that epic, including STF and the like. You're tied in, the action is fluid and nonstop yet not overwhelming. The challenges are difficult and require careful planning rather than the typical rush-in-and-win-because-we-spam-healing-aura mentality. The view distance and number of enemies is just freakin awesome. I can't say enough how much I love this TF, just as it is now. Seeing the transformation at the end surprised me and made me start thinking about the nature of things, which is extremely cool. Love it love it love it.
  11. Eltanin, you just made two of the most impressive forum posts I've seen in a long time. You're awesome.
  12. I like the market as it is, with the secret bid thingy. Makes things move along faster.
  13. Instead of cancelling altogether, we could just go back to Blue King...

That comic may not have had all the dramatic flair, but it was at least something CoX players could identify with. Which was the whole point. I miss it. Top Cow's comic has been interesting, but reading through its run leaves a feeling of disjointed wierdness. I would rather have the characters and writing Blue King put forth, than the sarcastic and downright irresponsible ones Top Cow did.

Maybe with the savings in money from going back to Blue King, we could keep our comic.
  14. Yes, yes for the love of all that is holy, yes.
  15. Considering the ammount of raw legal power given over to registered heroes, that's somewhat disturbing.
  16. Something I'd be interested to know for one of my characters... is there a minimum age requirement for Hero registration? If not, are there restrictions below a certain age, or stricter requirements?
  17. Writers leaving = BAD

Whatever they're paying you to leave, we'll double it! As long as it's an ammount of tuna.
