I'd be up for a run or two Saturday night. Usually on at 7 PM Central, but I could do a little later. I have an assortment of Tanks, Scrappers, and Blasters to contribute, but also my Earth/Storm Controller.

    Kheldian Sash

Well, hopefully the lowered requirements for Khelds and new animated tails will make the sash more possible.

They also have some options after some of the belt/hip things they have done, like for the Samurai hip armor, and the recent martial arts pack stuff.
  4. Holding my breath on the missions, but reasonably hopeful they will be of decent length and quality (hoping for more like the recent Midnighters and less like the Cimerora missions, though those weren't that bad, they are short). I'm still rather happy that we're getting an I17 before... I had assumed we were going to for awhile, but then a lot of people were saying "don't count on it." I'm glad the devs realized the need for it.

Well, you know, Willpower is kind of weak, it's all about the resists...

Sorry, Mental, I can't help but tease about that one.

It was good fun, sorry I couldn't join the ITF. Hope you had fun, Whisky.
  6. Yeah, def cap isn't necessarily needed. I really notice when my Blasters get their defense to 20%, and they do quite well in the 30-35% range... gives you enough to dodge most incoming attacks while you drop your foes quickly. I think I usually set my solo missions at being considered 3-4 heroes, and that works pretty well. Been running my AR/EM through the Tina Macintyre and Maria Jenkins missions just fine... been fighting the AVs as EBs, but I've done fine against them all: even the ones with annoying Tier 9s.

Doesn't matter where they put it, it's nothing but flavor text IMO.
If they're on par with those newer Midnighter arcs, I'll take them. Those are pretty fun to play through, and have pretty good stories... but that's my liking, I know.

I'd be fine with it if the Oroborous stuff was made easier for making teams, and/or you can run these at any levels like the welcome to the Midnighter club arc.

As it is, it's still content. Though I have to agree, the 20s-30s have a lot already. They put the new(ish... been out for a few issues now) Midnighter arcs in that range, and you have the end of the Faultline arcs there, Striga, Croatoa, as well as the arcs from regular contacts there. I would have rather seen this at level 30, but I guess they're wanting to tie it in with you leaving Praetoria (if you're starting there).

Good stuff overall, though. Lot of people have been wanting animated tails, even if I haven't. The email system is much needed (just did an inf transfer with someone else recently... it'll be nice not to have to bother anyone with this anymore), the AE improvements look very nice (though I hope we see some new maps with the new content as well), and the find the last objective thing is... very nice. Hate hunting for the last mob or object.

Silver Mantis is a great change... never should have been set up that way, anyway. Posi... kind of with Voo on that one. Not sure if I like it being broken up. Seems like it might have made more sense to shorten it and make that last map unique, but maybe they have things up their sleeves with this one that we'll like. I really like that they're making a Faultline map with that last one... I've been thinking that was needed for a long time now, ever since seeing the end of Synapse.

Posi seems like it will continue to be the "intro to mobs in CoH" TF with this, if we're going to see the new mirror enemy there. Still confused as to why/how this different from having a nemesis system, but we'll see how it works.

I responded to this kind of thinking earlier in the thread, Humility. The experience you stated for the redside market is no different blueside. For my characters on both sides, I put bids in for recipes (and any of the salvage I still need to make those recipes) ahead of time so I will hopefully have them when I need them. Sure, sometimes there are recipes and salvage there when I need them. But there are plenty of times where I have to wait for a recipe to pop in, or wait for some price spike on a piece of salvage to calm down.

Redside market IS slower, don't get me wrong, but arguing that blueside is sugar and spice and everything nice isn't going to fly, either.
  10. I'm in for the Khan... hopefully I'll be able to bring my Peacebringer. I'll try not to grief you too much.
  11. He shouldn't spawn anything if you don't do damage to him. I turn off Blazing Aura when tanking him, and just taunt him. He doesn't do anything other than try to hit me. That's the usual approach so he doesn't spawn anyone, too.

    STF Bugged?

Weird... had no issues two weekends ago, other than Recluse having tremendous luck in hitting me 4 times in a row. The patrons weren't any different than usual when we fought them, though we did take them on one at a time or so.

Those are indeed pretty shiny, though it isn't always the most important power that you want to slot up.

Is it worth it to make the investment? That depends what you plan on spending your time fighting.
In the late game Arachnos, Psi Clocks, Carnies, Rularuu, and Rikti all have foes with substantial amounts of Psi damage. The more often you plan on facing these groups the more mitigation for psi will be worth. If your just going to run ITFs all day it would be a total waste.
I'd run with this. Psychic damage is only rare in the late game if you avoid certain mobs. If not, having defense and resistance against it is a good idea. I always figure I am going to run into it, so I try to account for it in my Tanker builds as best I can.

See, I don't know if that fits, as Dual Blades does quite well for damage: it's just parceled out in a bunch of smaller orange numbers (most attacks do 2-4 ticks of damage). I know War Mace felt like it was doing more if I looked at the orange numbers, but they both do perfectly well for AOE and ST.

Not sure if that's how Dual Pistols doles out the damage or not.
  17. Ha, sorry to miss you, Kobolt.

May be trying for another Master run next week... either for Statesman again or Dr. Kahn. Just an fyi. I'm aiming for a TF every Saturday night I'm around for awhile, I guess.
  18. Eh, wait and see what the new end game content is going to be like. And besides, slotting Taunt up that much for range and playing like that isn't my idea of fun. Keeps slots from other powers that I want it on, and it's not like you can use this tactic on too many people, anyway.

I think the -ranged in Taunt is an excellent idea, and it helps out a lot for my Tanks. I guess with this I am just surprised that AVs don't resist -range more.

    *ahem*

You're on the list. Let me know what you're bringing.
  20. You should be okay with whatever Brute you can bring. I can't imagine we'll any issues putting a solid team together for this, or why not being IO'd out all the way will matter. Between me and Ham, we'll be knocking everything on its back anyway (heh, AR has some useful knockback).

My Blaster can stealth pretty well (I'll have be careful around drones, of course), so I should be able to use Assemble the Team the couple of times it's useful in this mission.
  21. [QUOTE=Satanic_Hamster;2635899]My Iso needs this, count me in.

    You're a controller, aren't you, Ham?

Necro, we'll probably want a Tank, but if you don't have a Tank, bring whatever. Plenty of other spots to find everything, and we can probably adjust tonight if needed.
  22. I should probably turn my rep bar off, as I REALLY DON'T CARE. Just putting that in there again, so no one else has to feel like saying "it's not me!" I can guess it's either someone who disagreed strongly with me in a post, or (more likely) someone that disagreed but didn't feel like debating in the open, given their comment.

I really do not care that I was down repped. I put that comment out for all to see so we could clarify how Fiery Aura works and what it is capable of- as you can main tank with Fiery Aura for anything in this game. Just plan and build well... which I would recommend for just about any AT and powerset.
  23. Title says it all. I have my AR/Energy Blaster just about at 50 (about 4 bars to go), and he needs to run the Lady Grey Task Force, having an affiliation with Vanguard and all.

I'd like to start out with a solid corps as usual, so I'm giving a shout out here first. Let me know if you want in. Use this as practice for next week's PERC event as well!

  24. Okay, what I am going to say is what I have gleaned from other posters, Sarrate being a major one (though I can cast a "summon Sarrate" for this thread if needed, or link to other posts Sarrate has made on the subject of the STF).

When all four towers are up, you really want to monitor your numbers. To floor Recluse's hit chances, you want to be at 75% defense (this can be to all positions, or typed... though I'm not sure how his attacks are pieced out for typed... a few of them certainly do have Smash/Lethal for a component). Most of the damage is Smash/Lethal, but he does have high energy attacks (but I believe these are mostly ranged, so if you stay close he won't use them). He also has a toxic damage attack. So getting capped to Smash/Lethal will be a good idea.

How you get there depends on your Tank. Know what you are at base, and build from there. Buffers make a difference to what you need, and you can fill in the rest with inspirations, the Archmage accolade, etc. I generally stock a lot of tier 3 defense and resist inspirations.

Look up what all the towers do (I can't recall off the top of my head), and have your team prioritize what you see as more important. To-hit and damage are going to be priorities, as dropping those makes your job much easier- after that, you'll be able to take on Recluse and your team doesn't have to feel rushed as much.

Suffice to say it wasn't me. I guess some people like to set people off.
You can if you read the little balance scales under your posts. I don't really care about rep, but I noticed mine had gone down, so I figured it was for this thread. Sure enough, there it was.

I only posted it in here, as I think no one should struggle under the misconceptions that negative repper did. Fiery Aura isn't a Stone Tank in Granite, but it does just fine for tanking in game.
