No Pre-Order for Me, I Guess...
Some folks will feel that getting the power sets early is well worth the difference and that if the extras are really good, buying them later is fine with them.
I don't need Dual Pistols early though I have to admit it'd be pretty nice. Demon Summoning I won't be able to play until GR hits anyway since I'm not a fan of villainside.
So, I'm in the same boat as you, I'll be waiting until July. Saving a little bit of money is never a bad thing and I can wait.
But, it'll be tough seeing the DP'ers running around. I can tell it'll be taunting me to get my own "bang bang" fix.
Losing faith in humanity, one person at a time.
For what it is worth GP, I almost always look long term on stuff like this. A few months either way won't make a difference if you are planning on being around for the next few years. I am pretty sure people and new players will roll up DP blasters next year, and the year after that, etc.
Enjoy what you have now and look forward to what is coming since you know it will be.
All the different packages seem to be a bit odd.
Honestly, I can't see much a point to not buying the collectors, unless you're THAT desperate to play the powersets early.

Rock, rock on Hamster.
ill prolly preorder the regular thing just so i can access GR the moment it goes live and to get the powersets early, the extra stuff is just that, extra, and i do not mind getting the in-game items from a booster of some sort at a later date
I can wait. Not like I haven't played DP already.
There is all kinds of wrong with this statement.
I really don't get this approach, though. I suppose pre-ordering gives beta access as well, but there are a lot more incentives to wait for the collectors than to pre-order the other. Though maybe they're wanting more boxes to be sold so there is more demand in stores for it?

Sheesh.
Bravo, Flux. Voodoo would be proud... if he was still hanging around.

What's in the Complete Collection?
Thanks, Viv. To clarify my question, what's in the "Complete Collection Item Pack"? I'm wondering if it's worth purchasing separately if I already have all the expansion packs I want, or if there's going to be some new stuff in it that's not currently available.
If there's nothing I want in it, then I'm just paying $5 more net to get the pre-order of GR to get early play time on dual pistols and demon summoning.
No specifics put out on it yet, I don't believe.
I'll be preordering the regular expansion, and then taking them up on their offer.
For those who prepurchase the separate City of Heroes Going Rogue expansion, but also want the Complete Collection Item Pack, starting on launch day in July, we will offer an upgrade to the Complete Collection. The upgrade will include the Complete Collection Item Pack but will not include any game time.

Then again, after my digital copy and the upgrade, I'll probably look into getting a box shipped over. We can't get the box in the EU, but I want something to put next to my CoH and CoV boxes. This suggests I probably seek odd things, so maybe the preorder/upgrade situation isn't as ideal as it seems to me.
No, this is not a rant. But for some reason, the Complete Collection is not something you can pre-order. I'd rather wait and get the free time plus the extra goodies, to be honest. My Dual Pistols Blaster was going to run through the new stuff in Praetoria, too, so it's not that big of a deal that I can't try it out sooner.
It does seem rather odd, though. Unless they let you buy the Complete Collection's extras for really cheap it might work... wait, no. $10 more is a good deal just for the free game time, let alone some costume, etc. extras.
I guess the math of this really doesn't make sense to me. Unless you are like Viv and must have your Dual Pistols powerset NAO!, I don't know why you would preorder. Does it make sense to anyone else?
So I guess I'll but it when it releases in July...
