If all they did was suggestion 1 & 2 (they seem identical to me) I would be a VERY happy mercenary mastermind.

I don't mind if they move around within reason, say 20', after a GoTo since obviously they can't all stand on the exact pin-point spot you selected. But instead they frequently run very far away chasing stuff down or just to execute their stupid brawl power on some random enemy and nothing short of putting them on heel will get them back (and rarely not even that). My defeats are almost always caused by the pets suddenly deciding to break ranks after being given specific orders. That's when I pop PFF and abandon them assuming I have time to realize the situation has become hopeless.

When they stay together they can create a very effective killing zone, when they scatter they're just a bunch of individual low level blasters getting their butts kicked and drawing too much aggro.
  2. I assume it is a reported/known problem about civilians walking through the walls inside the Portal Corps buildings? I have pics if not.

That has to be the laggiest avatar I've ever encountered.

    Merits hero side

L15-20: Run Tsoo Shenanigans (L15-19 magical contact) and The Mind of a King (L15-19 science origin contact). I also throw in the two faultline arcs cause they are fun, if not worth many merits. 42 merits with the faultline arcs, 31 without.
L20-25: Run both striga arcs (stephanie peebles and Long Jack), The Tsoo Coup (L20-24 mutant contact). 57 merits. You can add in the Wheel of destruction (L20-24 magic contact) and/or Hand of Iron (L20-24 tech contact for another 14 merits each).

By L25 it is simple (if not easy) to have 173-200 merits and the merit rewards for story arcs just get better after that. Yes, it takes a lot more running around than the same number of arcs would redside. However, without repeating arcs in Oro and/or adding in repeated SF's I know of no way to get this many merits redside. Which tends to screw over a solo character - and while I do a lot of TF's these days blueside the SF front is still pretty dead redside.
This is my experience as well. Started two characters at more or less the same time. One a scrapper and the other a stalker. Mind I wasn't actually trying to see who could get the most merits but I like running arcs and they leveled up more or less simultaneously.

By level 30 the scrapper had run all the safeguards plus Wincott, Flux, Starbuck, the Vahz Plauge, Temblor, Yin and even managed to get Monte in (60 at level 20) then Delilah, Agent G, Larson, 2 Sheldons and Bower for a total of 146 merits (I outleveled Skipper so those 10 weren't technically before 30). Not up to the 173 but still a respectable number since I was also running radios and safeguards too, then again I gave myself an extra 5 levels.

By level 30 the stalker had run all the mayhems plus Burke, Creed, Radio, Lunata, Percey, Marino, McNight and Brass (67 at level 20) then Dubrowski, Crash, Wade, Maros and Buzzsaw for a total of 117 merits. I might have gotten one more contact in but I had to run newspapers in Nerva to get one and ended up outleveling it (then switched to St. Martial because I wanted Hardcase).

Actually the scrapper had 204 from running a Synapse and the Stalker had 130 from running a Tarikoss but I'm not counting task forces for the test.

Of course all of that is completely subjective but I'm not sure how I could have run more arcs than I did without turning off experience. Hero side could have been better if I hadn't bothered with radios after level 10 but since I did it made a good comparison with the villain who was forced to do so (exception Lunata, Buzzsaw and Wade).

Another caveat is that I'm getting this from looking at the souveniers and adding up the merits. I could be mistaken on the exact numbers.
  5. I had a great time. Midday got the Silver Bullet, Tough, and of course the Honorary Peacebringer.

I forgot to take any pics once we got started but I got this one early in the forming process. It is of the team prior to being split in two so we could accomodate lots of addons (enough for 2 full teams). Great work forming up the second team Kat! Hope you guys did as well as we did.

Our eventual team was 2 scrappers, 2 controllers, and 4 blasters. We absolutely smoked 'em. We even managed to keep Dr. Engles alive and I mostly kept my promise to keep you iced-up Mike.

Thanks to everyone for another enjoyable Saturday.
  6. Woohoo, Midday is 32nd. Her and frosty will be there!
  7. I'm going to try and make it this week. I'll bring Midday Chill (lvl 30 Cold/Cold controller).

On the other hand, if your godmode crashes you in the middle of a fight you at least still have your mez protection with a click-based power. Those with toggle protection are out of luck until after the crash subsides and we can take a breather inpiration.

With experience I've learned about how much I can take on during the time the power is active and try to take full advantage of it. If I do misjudge, which is pretty rare, and it doesn't look like I can finish the fight then I'll try to bail out early... jump and run (my SR is really fast while the godmode is still running), even the GvE pack is a big help if in an outdoor map.

If I used the "panic button" for a truly horrendous battle (like the final mission for Serpent Drummer) then I frequently take a short break afterwards anyway. Get a drink, wash the sweat off my palms, savor the VICTORY, etc... By the time you get back you are good to go. Of course that works best solo but if you need it in a team you are probably the only survivor when all is said and done anyway and you'll have time while the rest return from the hospital.

    Arbiter Rein

Thanks guys. I can't believe I didn't see the description of where he was in the wiki. This morning all I saw was the location coordinates. Just missed it I guess.

What I meant was which patron has the best story/missions. It is my understanding that no matter which Patron you take you can choose any of the pools. I'm wanting to get her something interesting that will re-motivate her without telling her she has to do the paper/mayhem grind again.

    Arbiter Rein

Can someone tell me where to find Arbiter Rein in Grandville? I can't find him on the map and he didn't automatically come up as a contact. I'm hoping to get my wife re-enthused about her level 43 stalker. Speaking of which, any recommendations for a first time patron contact?

    Thanks in advance.
  11. Another for bringing back Bolero with Wings. We already have a red name (babs? bah, can't find it now) saying that wings with cape-physics isn't a big deal. The theory is that Bolero with Capes needed to be removed so all Back options were removed.

    Please bring this back!
  12. Does anyone know if the various missing ninja pack parts for huge and female were put back in?

What about secondary patterns for shields? I sure miss those but I haven't tried it in the last 2 weeks.
  13. I have an old pic of the 2nd place villain winner (that player also placed in your contest Pum) but none from the contest itself. I wish I had thought to take some when they were lined up prior to knowing who had won, but even then they were never close enough together, without a lot of gawkers around them, for a really good one.
  14. wasdeq and f to move/follow although I flipped A & Q and D & E to match a game I had previously (so the strafing is Q&E). I mapped the middle mouse button for look/steer because I found right-click in the middle of combat tended to pull up menus instead of steering like I wanted. One advantage is that a turn is much faster if you use both the turn key and the mouse. I can make myself dizzy looking around lol.

90% of the time I use the mouse to activate powers but I do have the most important stuff arranged in the first tray so that the number keys can be used in an emergency. Tab is normal targeting but I have the back-tic key (just above Tab) set to Target Nearest and it gets a lot of use. I almost never target by mouse-click, at least not in the middle of combat, I'm too uncoordinated for that.

    Clone bug?

I bow to the consensus experience. The two times I've run it, all costume parts were simply reversed on all evil clones. The one time I thought it wasn't turned out to be an unused secondary I had failed to set.

    Clone bug?

I've heard the clone spawns to look like the first person to enter the mission. Makes sense because if the clone spawns-on-entry (near the front) it is being created as the first person logs in.

I know for a fact that if the evil clone spawns later - like as part of the ambush in the good-side burning arachnos base mission or in the evil-side mission to "test" your clones - it will spawn with the correct look.

We try to make sure the owner goes in first on all those missions just to be sure.

    Clone bug?

Hero-side, the evil clones switch secondary and primary colors of each costume bit. You obviously have pink as the secondary color on your sleeves.

Note to self: ALWAYS set the secondary color from now on even if it isn't used.
  18. I can't read them and I don't even have a wide screen... just 50 year old eyes. I have to either put on my reading glasses while the enhancement screen is up or pull up the combination screen for each power. My wife does have a wide screen and the problem is even worse on hers.

It was easy to read prior to i17.
  19. Make this one Crazy Death and my previous one my Ragdoll Gone Wrong submission

  20. I had one cast on me as I engaged in combat last night. It happened because the enemies were too close to the door and started attacking almost immediately. Meanwhile the guy with me had activated his fortune power.

While I was stuck in the animation, I was able to move and attack while doing it. It was pretty funny seeing my martial artist slide over to the Warhulk and attack it by throwing her hands forward in a sort of double-downward slap.

(my opinion is that I liked not being prompted but it's nothing to get upset over)
  21. Broadsword for Tankers please.
  22. Golden_Avariel

    Doc Delilah

At 21+ talking to Temblor will get you an introduction. Temblor himself doesn't require an intro so he'll always refer you to Doc even if you haven't done his arc.

I've done it or helped others do it dozens of times.
  23. Crane Kick gone wrong...

    Ooohh... that's gotta hurt

[Edit] Crazy Death (although I suppose it would qualify as crazy ragdoll).
