I use the slap emote when someone is being silly, it usually gets a laugh. Same for getsome (or whatever patting the hip is called) when I'm being teased for something by the rest of the group.
We have a guy who likes to use the bat emote on the various TF contacts and especially unruly controller pets during picture time at the end of TF's.
I'm sure there are many more but that's off the top of my head. -
Too tough?
My only comment on this was that it was too tough for the LFG to ever have a hope of working as intended. Pre-formed leagues seem to be the preferred method now.
I figured things would get better over time and they did, faster than I thought. Not being able to log into the beta servers I could tell from the start that the "simple directions" beyond "follow me and keep up" were going to be insufficient and I think they are but only until you've run it once or twice then they start making sense.
Not casual friendly?
I did fall for this. I thought it would take me forever because I wouldn't run them often enough. I've been happily proved wrong. They are short and fun enough that I don't mind running 2 in a row. I ended up playing 7 trials over 4 days and my dark tank now has an uncommon Void Judgement and a rare Reactive Interface which is beyond my wildest dreams for the first weekend.
I may actually try to do these on some of my other 50's.
Incarnate currency overload?
The Threads are dumb... the rest is no worse than the invention salvage's 3 tiers x 3 levels (I'm betting on another round of salvage in the next set of slots). I don't consider the new stuff a "new currency" but rather an addition to the relatively new Incarnate salvage category.
Incarnate grind?
It is a grind but fun and short enough that if you do a couple a week you'll make pretty good progress and not get burned out. And that's fast enough for me.
Quote:Ditto. I can hardly wait to finish Maria Jenkin's arc with my new powers though!I'm going to follow my own advice and not do any Incarnate trials for a while. After two long days, they are indeed feeling pretty grindy.

I got the uncommon table once and the rare table once (the only reason I have a tier 3 in Interface) but the other 5 times I got the common table.
I also got a an uncommon dropped on me once during a Lambda outside of the reward tables. I have no idea what I did to deserve that but it did determine which way I went with my tier 2 in Interface. -

Shadowguardinal bows at your feet... or at least Gloomy Girl's
Thank you so much for showing me that a Lambda can indeed be done in an organized way and my first BAF was outstanding.
I rode the Mermoine train for as long as I could before the mapserve but I got a ton of threads and astral merits and stuff. I'm a very happy player right now... tired, but happy. -
Run the Sutter, will run Mortimer on Tuesday.
Loved Sutter and said as much in the feedback thread. I do think the bombardments in the final mission should not follow you to the hospital, but maybe I'm just being silly. -
For those of us taking a LONG time (if ever) to get any incarnate powers beyond Alpha, I certainly wouldn't want the old content made any harder than the difficulty slider can already make it.
I'm also a little worried that my characters will not be able to get on or feel useful in some of the high-level content after a month or so when everyone else is maxed out. And if I start up my own TF's I'll end up with those maxed-out incarnates running my TF solo for me. It was bad enough running clueless in an IO world, it'll be worse with incarnates.
I hope I'm wrong but I'm seeing more low-level content and less high-level in my future. -
One Labda down successfully, no Astral merits.
But then, I only got 4 threads, the one component and 22% unlocked too. This is going to take a LONG time. -
I'm still of the opinion that Threads was a totally unnecessary addition since the real gate for the new slots are the incarnate experience however...
The new incarnate salvage to me is no different than having 3 sets of salvage for inventions in 3 different levels - common, uncommon, and rare. There are dozens of different pieces even within each level category.
I think the Incarnate Salvage, once it is complete, will be very similar to that with an addition of the base components (shards/threads/whatever) and very rares. The built-in ability to craft your own components is a definite improvement over the old IO system which wasn't resolved until the introduction of AE tickets.
The BIG difference though is how you find said salvage and I have to agree that having only 2 real options for what I'll call the mid-tier incarnate salvage is a real sticking point (I don't count Apex and Tin Mage, 2 threads is nothing... make it 8 and we'll talk).
There really needs to be another way to earn threads and E-Merits. Like have threads drop on level 50+ enemies if you've unlocked one of the new slots and add an E-Merit reward to the big 6 TF/SF reward tables in addition to Reward Merits and Alpha components. You'd still have to run the trials to earn the iXP to unlock the slots and they would still be the fastest way to get the job done, but at least there would be an alternative not terribly different than how the Alpha slot worked. -
Quote:You know... that actually made more sense to me than the rewards/incarnate section of the notes.Issue 21 will introduce Incarnate Chips, Incarnate Dip, and Incarnate Nuggets. These can be combined, cross-trained, demoted, depressed, repressed, reworked, folded, mutilated and spindled into each other at random costs, or can be combined like an Incarnate Voltron into Delirium Merits, good for breaking down (at a 5:1 ratio with a 300,000,000 INF fee) into a single Incarnate Button, which can be turned in for a half price tailor session.

There is a chat font size in the graphical options screen. I'm pretty sure that doesn't resize the window although I haven't really played with it since the month after I joined so I could be mistaken.
Glad to know about windowscale. The space along the bottom of my screen is usually full. -
Ah weird. The wiki is probably right. I haven't actually checked but I haven't found any other normal IO's I wanted that I couldn't buy with A-Merits. Sorry for the mis-information.

I think it is sad if you have to have 1 of 2 particular AT's on a team to finish a mission of any kind, much less a SF.
-
I find that by Saturday evening the WST is old-hat and it gets easier to find teams for the off TF's by then. I got on Saturday looking for a Renault but ended up on a Citadel instead (I was on with a rogue). I got on just to do some maintenance on my tanker and got asked for both a Posi and a Numi which I had to turn down but not for a Manticore.
I think it is a lot easier to fill a team if you want to run the WST but it doesn't seem that much harder to fill for other things, at least by the weekend. -
I had 1 Steadfast in my DA tanker starting around 38th level or so for the same reason as you - tired of getting knocked back all the time and tired of having to run to the SG empowerment station to keep it from happening.
With mag 4 protection the things that could still knock me down (this is from my bad memory) were Fake Nemesis, several EB's, the Phantasms from Carnie Master Illusionists, Longbow Wardens with energy blast... stuff like that. It wasn't terribly common.
I have 3 IO's for 12 now mostly so I could help tank Hami. I usually only get knocked down by AV's now, specifically Nemesis but a few others as well.
The reason I went Steadfast and Karma is because they are cheap. They don't show up in the merit vendors because they top out at 30th level so you have to move the slider to 30. I know you have a hangup with not having 50's in all the slots but they only cost 75 merits or 1 A-Merit. -
Ok, that is too cool. I'm going to have to contact her about doing a similar piece for my main and her girlfriends in the supergroup.

Like Dante, I'll definitely be looking into that. Thanks.

Ditto. The one hero arc where your best isn't even close to good enough. It still haunts my dark tanker to this day. I wrote a follow-up story for it in the roleplay section where she goes to visit Terra in the research hospital where they keep the now-monster under extreme guard and drugged up to prevent a second rampage... the search to cure it all but abandoned. The whole thing is very sad.

Heh, same as me but you said it with more flair Organica.
Another bonus now that Cobra Strike is worth taking - Eagle's Claw + Cobra Strike not only has a good chance for excellent damage, they combine to often stun just about anything. It was very funny last night watching Malta Zeus mechs stagger around. -
I totally understand where you are coming from. I almost came to a standstill trying to level my Praetorian because of the lag - although mine was only in the outside world. It was such a pain to turn down the graphics to play him then turn them back up in the rest of the game. If it weren't for the excellent stories I'm sure I would have deleted him somewhere along the line.
