Check to see if the updater is for the American or the Euro version - the correct one for you should say CohUpdater.EU.exe - if it doesn't have the EU part, then it emans you've downlaoded the American one by mistake, so you'll need to change it's name to include the EU part.

What would be good for those concerned about security would be to make it so that you could set the access level for each individual storage item.

There's also the danger of doing something against the EULA - if you wre to fill for a pro PLer, who's breaking the EULA by PLing for real cash, then wouldn't that make a filler also guilty of helping break the EULA?
So if you're unsure about the person asking you to fill, it might be safer to decline, just in case you're being asked to help break the EULA.

This is a bit of a double-edged sword. I can now expand my base, add in some decorative rooms, perhaps, and it's just a one-off cost.

However, I now have to pay rent on a base which I rarely use since I'm not really playing the characters in that SG. I will now be forced to play them every so often simply to stand still regarding prestige.

Well, you can get rent for one month just by doing a couple of radio missions, so you're looking at 15 minutes work every 4 weeks, which is hardly a major amount of time.
